Bose QC35 for $437 Shipped @ Videopro

80

You can grab a pair of Bose QC35s from VideoPro for only $437. I used this price to price match at JB Hifi to grab a pair, just because it was closer to my office. They say they won't do it, but you just need to say it's a price match.

Enjoy!

$399.20 @ Apollo Hi-fi , plus I had no issue price matching at Myer to get Myer One points plus no delivery cost.

Do you mind if I ask you how you went about it? Did you just see the first clerk you saw and asked for a Price Match on the Bose?

      • +1

Pretty much. I walked in and went up to a clerk and said I wanted a price match on the 35's, he referred me to the manager straight away. I told the manager that Apollo had them for $399.20 and he said that he had never seen it at that price before and that it was odd, he went onto his computer and researched the price and accepted that Myer's policy does not state any condition where the price match wouldn't be honoured so he gave it to me for that price :)

Alongside $250 in gift cards for xmas it was a steal.

Edit: I did haggle him a bit, he pushed back regarding that the store was in another state (I was in VIC at the time) but after re-reading the policy and seeing that the price wasn't under cost he accepted it.

        • Oh wow. Yeah, that's what sort-of made me question if its even worth trying, since on the Ozbargain Pricematch page it says that you have to be in the same city/town as the offer you are price-matching them with. When I looked on the website though, it says that it only has to be another Australian retail store (with an actual physical shop). So I can definitely use that as somewhat of a leverage if they pull that card.

Anyways, I'll be crossing my fingers and hoping it will all work out, but even if it doesn't, it will still be better walking in there with some background info. How did he see that the price wasn't under cost? Like did you have to do something? or did he just check the system and what not?

          Thanks in advance bud.

        • @ClaudeElement:

Yeah the manager had the same opinion about the same city rule but he conceded that after I explained that on their policy there was no actual written condition regarding this, and because Apollo is a store front he was fine with it.

In terms of the cost price, he just went to the register and checked the cost I'm guessing, I was waiting for about 5 minutes while he double checked everything. I think $399 would be close to cost considering no other retailers really go close to that ever except for Microsoft.

I'd highly advise just asking for the manager straight away because when the clerk saw I was more than just an average joe in terms of bargaining he instantly referred me to the manager, a clerk would just say that it's in another state and reject the claim.

If you have any issues, I can PM my receipt if I can find it if you need it to prove the price match.

Hey bud! Sent you a PM

          @doweyy:

          UPDATE

I went 1st and the manager gave me the whole " It's not in the same city" even though I said that it doesn't actually say anything regarding this on their policies page. I told them about your @doweyy experience and they told me if i could provide them with a receipt, they could do something. Thankfully, you delivered with the receipt :) and I was able to get a price match :)

          @ClaudeElement:

Glad to hear this, they're really tricky about it but if you do some solid bargaining they finally give in in the end!

        • @doweyy: Hi Doweyy,
Had some trouble here in parramatta saying it was under their cost price in their price matching policy. Can you me PM me your receipt? :)

          Edit: more specific store

          @Magicmannn:

You need to go into your account settings and enable people to send you messages, send me a PM after that and I'll send you the receipt :)

        • @doweyy: I've enabled it but I'm still a fresh account (long time lurker) so I've got to wait a day to be untrottled :(

Surely any random Myer 'manager' can simply say 'below our cost price' and not honour the price matching deal as the cost price condition is their get out of jail free card. How do any of us know what the cost price is?

        • @MrMaxwell:

They could do that but using my receipt they clearly sold it above cost price as that's one of the price match conditions, so they're just lying straight to your face

        • @doweyy:

Lying to many people it seems…

        • @doweyy:

Can you please pm receipt as well, may be going to myer, later.

(in WA) I had no luck with Myer price-matching the $399 price from Apollo, but out of pity Myer offered my $50 off their $499 price.

However (if you're in Perth) AudioHUB will price-match a price from another authorised Bose dealer - http://audiohub.com.au/pages/why-buy-from-us
so I also bought them for $399.

      • Yeah it really comes down to the discretion of the manager, because 35's are so popular and they don't want to get in trouble for selling near cost I'm guessing. Glad to hear you got it for the same price though!

      • Hello.. I am in Perth and looking to buy QC35..Could you please guide me from where did you purchase and what is the right procedure to do so. I live near CBD..
Also the price listed is $437 so after price match shouldn't it 437? how did u get for 399 please share insights.. thanks in anticipation
        Cheers

        • Search OzB for the price of $399 from Apollo Hi-Fi. Save the URL or print out the page, and take it to AudioHub in Subiaco and ask them to match it. Simple.

@chrism238: Thanks Mate.. Apollo Hifi Jacked up prices to 425.. Got it in 425 from AudioHub

are quiet comforts loud enough ?

    • I see what you did there…

      • lol honest question

    • Uncomfortabley loud :P

On a serious note, loud enough.

  • Hard to get these price matched as they walk out the door daily at $499. While I was 'discussing' the price match a customer bought a pair at $499 - bad timing certainly didn't help me :)

  • Myer Brisbane city wouldn't price match. Cheapest they said they could do was cost $460 + $1. Not sure how others got Myer to do $399!?!

    • I got it by explaining their policy straight back to them, unless they update their policy they have no recourse to not give you the price match. Every condition is met with the apollo price and with my receipt other people have easily been able to price match because Myer may not price match again, but JB can see that another big retailer has done it so they just go ahead with it, it's honestly just the manager being stingy and not wanting to sell them at $399. If you want my receipt I can PM you it because it's helped about 3-4 people so far :)

      • Please PM me thanks!

      • Can you please PM me the receipt ? Thanks

      • Hi doweyy,
Are you able to PM me your receipt? Cheers

      • Can you please PM me as well with the receipt? Thanks a bunch!

That's a joke. Garden city Myers is happy to price match video pro @ 437 right now.
$437 must be still above cost price.

      • I got them to price match down to $420. I had Myer vouchers to use otherwise I wouldn't have tried so much. The sales person today was polite and showed me all the pricing info on his screen (could be bogus) but they had a memo from HQ not to price match Apollo Hifi - unbelievable that a little hifi store causes memos to be issued by a national retailer!

Left a sour taste in my mouth and I will tell everyone I know not to shop at Myer - why lose a customer and create a detractor over $21????

        • did they price match to $420 because of Apollo Hifi?
They would only price match to $437 for video pro for me

        • @tobi3421:

Yes correct. The store manager had no answer when I asked why the so called cost price was different for every Myer store.

This experience only makes me despise Myer even more. Either price match with competitors happily (as Officeworks does) or get rid of it altogether!

  • Declined at 3 Sydney stores: Myer price matching policy is a joke!

    • try https://audiotrends.com.au/Bose_QuietComfort_QC35_Silver.htm…, they can do price match at $399.20 + $8 delivery or free pickup at Ringwood VIC 3134

I finally got it at Myer Melbourne CBD at price match, just frighting back with the policy exactly what @doweyy said. But the manager said the e-receipt is fake as it's been circulating in internet and not accepted.

      • Appreciate if you could PM me the receipt…
