No I already can't fit in to my nice pants. Stop posting these.
These are too good especially that limited peanut butter with pretzels and sweet cream version. I think it's limited but hope they don't stop making it.

    • +4

      Limited? It better not be.

    • +2

Just finished my peanut butter pretzel yesterday and it taste heavenly

    • +2

A moment in the lips. A lifetime in the hips.

  • +3

    Cookies and cream ftw

    • +1

I ate too much Cookies & cream now just thinking about it makes me feel sick lol

  • -7

Now a days, it's anyway cheaper. Never seen full price. OTR at Fuel station sells at $6.99

    • +12

What language is this written in?

      • +3

        bargainballian😀

    • +1

      Proof?

  • +2

Was 1c cheaper at IGA 4 days ago. BUT local had no stock. Got a raincheck, but still no stock of my favourite variety - Cafe Grande😢

Glad to see this deal as just got $100 Coles eGift card for opening ANZ account. Plus activated bonus points offer thus week at Coles. Just need to wait another 4 days…😯

    • Wish I had space for 20 tubs. No gift card for me so might be limited to 2 maybe 3

      • Will only be buying 4 - 1 per week & hope for next sale. The rest of the egift card will be spent on healthier food😯

Choc honey nougat! The best (except for choc obsession which they no longer stock :()

    • +1

Agreed with the Choc honey nougat

    • Raspberry White Chocolate.

      But CHN is second best.

  • +9

Nah, matcha green tea with white choc waffle cone is the best. I gurantee it!

    • too sweet

    • -5

Yuck! Tried it and threw it out.. I never understood the whole green tea thing. Tastes vile as a drink, even worse in deserts, etc..
Cookies & Cream / Honey Macadamia FTW!!

      • Green tea desserts are delicious… for those who don't have the palate of a 12 year old.

    • +1

It's decent but a little too weak for my taste. The matcha is overpowered by the white chocolate.

  • Perfect timing, supplies were getting low.

  • +3

curse you ozb…not even looking this time….this stuff makes me FAT!

  • How do these compare to Sara Lee from Woolworths?Nicer flavour? Better ingredients?

    • +5

Cannot say for all flavours, but the salted caramel, this is miles better than Sara Lee's. I bought the Sara Lee version to tie over, when this was not on special. And can say, I won't be buying it again. It is not bad, just not as good.

Thanks OP. Was literally scanning every week's ColesWorth post for these, so glad it is here.

    • +6

Sara Lee is full of air. Just hold both tubs in your hands and you will notice right away. Also flavours not as good on Sara Lee

      • +3

Sara Lee doesn't bend my spoon due to density.

    • +2

Sara lee rocky road is good but i'd wager the Connoisseur one would be better if they did one.

    • Blueberry Cheesecake (Sara Lee) is still one of my favourites, can't beat that condensed milk+cookie base+blueberry swirl mmhmmmm (YMMV depending on whether you like blueberries)

      • +1

Then, you might like the Connoiseur Derwent Valley Raspberry with White Chocolate, since it sounds kind of similar - also berry swirled into ice-cream. Maybe give it a try and see.

        • +1

May have been another brand but I prefer the condensed milk flavour over white chocolate, would happily take either tub tho, whichever one is on special :D

        • @IceyChow:

Please provide more info on this condensed milk flavour !

          Oh wait cheesecake…nm

  • You better have an ice cream scoop because these things take a lot of strength to scoop out with a normal spoon, and I've bent a lot of spoons trying.

I like strawberry one the most but that seems exclusive to Woolies.

    • I found this works - if you microwave it on a low power setting (e.g. 30%) for like 30 sec.
It is just nice for scooping, without bending spoons :-) It won't be runny or anything, just not rock hard.

      • +2

You put the whole tub into a microwave? Crazy.

With a normal spoon (I'm too cheap to buy an IC scoop) it's so hard to scoop out that my arms get tired and my hand hurts from the spoon digging into it.

I tend to avoid Connoiseur in favor of Sara Lee.

If you have a thick spoon, it's ok.

        • +1

Yeap, the tub in the microwave without the cover. Not crazy, it works. Main thing is it must be low power. It only softens it a tiny bit, so you can scoop easily. No deterioration whatsoever to quality, despite doing this over and over each time I want to scoop, until the tub is empty. (BTW, I feel comfortable doing this for Connoisseur because the tub is cardboard. With plastic, I probably will not, since I cannot be sure the plastic is microwave-safe).

      • +3

Just put an icecream scoop into a cup of hot water for 30 seconds and then scoop.

        • That might work for the first scoop, or half way through the scoop. The ice cream cools down that spoon very quickly. Then you'll have to heat it up again.

          Possible solutions:

          • Buy the proper apparatus
          • Switch to Sara Lee

I go with the latter because I'm a cheap bastard. And I also prefer SL's ice cream.

        • Yes, this definitely works too. Since for me, this also means using microwave to heat up a cup of hot water, I figure microwaving the whole tub is much easier :-) Faster too. Takes longer in microwave to get the cup of water sufficiently hot.

        • @bluesky: Or you could turn your stove on and heat it up through that? Or use a kettle and boil the water?

        • @lostn: Sure, but they all take longer than the max 20-30secs that microwaving the tub will take :-)

    • I prefer my ice cream soft. I leave it out for about 10 minutes before I have a crack. Once left it out a bit to long and the thing was like a super thick shake. Practically drunk the whole tub.

      • You have lots of discipline, once I thought of having some, the idea of hanging around waiting 10 mins is too much to bear :-)

        • Nope. No discipline. If the missus doesn't say anything the whole tub disappears in one sitting. That's why I'm glad these 1/2 price deals don't happen very often.

      • I do that sometimes.. and then forget to go and scoop it, and the whole thing unfreezes into mush on a hot summer's day.

        • Still tastes awesome. I just sit there taking small little slices as it softens. Not a fan of the big spoon scoops.

    • +1

I've never had this problem wirh hard connoisseur icecream, especially cookies and cream, its so creamy and soft.

    • I have my freezer on the warmest setting specifically for ice cream access purposes. Stops it from going rock solid.

  • wow. so many flavours to try. i'm in!

  • Damn ozb knows their ice creams.

  • +2

    So good but soooo bad…

  • +2

just got 7 tubs of a few different flavors, keen to try them all

    • I wish I had that much freezer capacity.
Probably healthier for me that I don't though this stuff is too tasty to ignore.
Safer to only buy a few and wait for the next <$5 sale .

    • you bought a gym membership at the same time right?

      • theres 3 in my household not all mine lol

  • +1

Got a few tubs today but did anyone notice (in Sydney at least) that most of them had ice frosted over the outside in most cases. At the first Coles I visited, I noticed that the contents were also very soft - I suspect it had melted and were in the process of bringing frozen again.

I actually skipped that store and went to another one 10 mins away, which had similar frosting on the outside but at least the contents seemed more solid. Given the similar scenario in 2 separate stores, I'm guessing the issue could have been hot weather during transportation possibly late last week?

    • +1

…visiting multiple shops to find the freshest ice-cream?

      thats commitment! :P

  • sure its half price & its great ice cream, but…..
…can i just point out that theres a fine line between being a connoisseur & a glutton ;)

  • whats the coffee grande like?

    • Very nice! :-) With Grande Marnier sauce swirled through and almonds. (Ingredients say Grand Marnier extract)

But please be careful, when you first bite on the whole almonds. Twice in the past, I came across batches where the almonds were rock-hard (probably anomaly). If you have fillings and such, they can crack your fillings if you bite on them too and caught unawares. Once you have checked the 1st or 2nd almond, and they are OK, then you need not worry.

      • … if you bite on them too hard … is what I meant.

  • +2

Local Coles was fully stocked with all the flavours for the sale! Green tea isn't strong enough for me.

  • I finally got to try Green Tea - mostly because many of the ColesWorths I went to did not stock them, or ran out, in the last few sales. Wish accomplished. While it is OK, I felt that it is not in the league of some of the other flavours (Salted Caramel, Belgian Choc, Caramel Macadamia, Raspberry Choc, Cafe Grande). Just my personal opinion, of course :-)
