requires approx. 20,000 litres of water to fill…

    • Approx 6473 L

          @nocure:

          now you're just being irrational

        • @nocure:
if you fill to 90% 6473L

        • @aussman:

if you fill to 68cm deep

          0.68 x 3.14159 x 3²

        • +1

          @aussman:

it appears the pool isn't 6m x 76cm as shown in the photo.

          it should read 3.6m x 76cm

          0.76 x 3.14159 x (1.8)² = 7,736 litres at full capacity

        • The pool has a circular base with Diameter (d) of 3.66m, making Radius (r) of 1.83 m.

So total theoretical volume of the pool (pi * 1.83^2 * 0.76) comes to slightly less than 8 m3.

That is without taking in count slight variations due to non-ideal cylindrical shape and membrane elasticity. And if you want nit-picking, that is without additional volume for convex shape on top of the fully filled pool, due to surface tension. But the theoretical water volume is gone the moment someone dips in the pool (which is the core purpose of having a pool).

In reality, you would fill this with around 5.000 l of water.

        • @jv:
you would not fill it to the top likely 90% depth

        • @aussman:

you would not fill it to the top likely 90% depth

          I'd like a second opinion.

I'm going to post this link to Mythbusters…

      that's a lot of Voss

  • That's funny looking "metal" between the metal frame.

    Metal-frame pool thanks very much.

Thanks, I might buy one of these and install it in the investment property. Fill it, poke a few holes in the side and I won't need to worry about the tenants not watering the lawn all summer!

    • You will have no lawn under the pool anyway after a summer, I did it once in my back yard and was left with a 3x3 stinky muddy puddle in the middle of my yard.

Bear in mind you're required to have a fence installed for one of this size. In QLD anyway

  • Raised Garden Bed??

      Slightly different.

Ebay one has ladder and ground cloth and also 122cm high.
Kmart is only 76cm hence even the price different originally prior discount.

I've been pretty happy with my bestway pool. Best thing for adults and kids to keep cool without driving to the beach and looking for parking…

      • thanks for pointing that out! I started to lose a bit of interest in searching after most places only had larger ones on their sites

        • Yea no problem.
I found that the online stores don't stock small sizes like Kmart and BigW… maybe cause they can't compete on price!

I look at Above ground pools every year or 2 as at these prices, it's more worthwhile chucking them after each year's use and buying a new one the following year because to pack it away, you need to make sure it is:
          - 100% dry otherwise the liner can mould
          - frame will rust internally if there is water
          - pump needs to have clean water pumped through it otherwise the chlorine will corrode the internals…

So yea, for a whole summer's fun and keeping cool for $50-200 (Sometimes I get the fast set, sometimes the frame), it's definitely worth it!

Oh on a side note, Bestway's customer service is pretty good if you have a receipt, so if there is any problem, they are quite quick at sorting out the warranty side of things!

  • If anyone is interested in buying one of these pools, Kmart Southland (VIC) had around a dozen of them available at $79 when I was there earlier today (Sunday, Feb 5th).

  • Is filter pump included?
