Citizen Men's BJ7000-52E Nighthawk Stainless Steel Eco-Drive Watch

I own this watch and it's rock solid. It's Eco-drive, so no battery change for many years. The bracelet is great quality at this price point. The GMT feature allows you to track two time zones. The dial looks extremely busy, but I can assure you that everything blends into the background when reading the time. There are luminous hands and markers for reading at night. Despite being an aviation watch, it is part of Citizen's Promaster series and has genuine water resistance to 200m like a dive watch. The only flaw is the mineral crystal, but mine is still perfect after several years as a beater in part of a rotation.

The lug to lug distance is quite short on this watch (it won't hang over your wrist on each side), so it can be worn comfortably on smaller wrists too with comfort.

Nice find, this is the lowest price since May 2008 according to Camel.

  • Oh man¡ cool watch

  • If the all black Nighthawk was on sale, I'd be very tempted…

Also love the BM7170-53L. The blue face is nice!

  • nice, thanks OP

Fantastic watch. I bought mine five years ago at a much higher price! Still going strong. I replaced the metal strap with a black leather one, and it looks, and feels, even better.

  • Owned one for a while. Great watch with great aesthetic.

  • +1

Nice deal OP - always wanted the titanium one - a great price.

    • yeah I can't find the titanuim one, only the $400+ chrono versions.

    • I think the titanium nighthawk is JDM.

  • OP ulikeit

  • Oh, no, I just spent $600, bought a CB3010 57E.

BM7170-53L has great value if I saw it first.

    • Pretty expensive for such a plain watch. Am i missing features?

      • Radio-controlled and most probably build quality. Appears JDM too which bumps the cost.

        • Radio is useless here,

All I want is simple with style, light-weight and accuracy and easy to deal with (Eco drive)

        • @John Kelvin:
Yep I had to turn off radio on my skyhawk here in Melbourne because it would sometimes pick up a wrong signal somehow.

  • The pilot's log scale slide rule is awesome. That said, I need to use unit conversions in what I do, but it can be used for standard multiplication and division as well.
I have a blue angels Citizen watch and had another eco-drive previously. Nice watches overall, although I did drop my previous watch one too many times and cracked the solar cell behind the dial. Oops?

  • Is there any special for Citizen watch with atomic timekeeping? It is handy when I travel overseas such as UK, US and China.

    • AT9010

List as Citizen Eco-Drive Men's Silvertone and Black World Time A-T Watch AUD $315.54 USD $232.22

      But seems out of stock

      • Says "in stock" when I click the link.

        • It is in stock, but the price has changed

        • @v1nn1e: No longer shipping to Australia.

    • Yep, the Citizen Eco-Drive Men's Silvertone and Black World Time A-T Watch mentioned above. "A radio controlled clock has a radio inside, which receives a signal that comes from a place where an atomic clock is located."

    • +3

Just so you know, their receiving stations are for northern hemisphere only. It wont be able to receive anything in Australia.

      • I understand. Thank you. This is the reason why I said UK, US and China.

        • You can try the AT8020

    • Beware, AT9010 is big, heavy, thick.

If you never mind, it's great.

Particularly good usage of the description area.

    • +2

Yeah, took a bit of updating and cutting n' pasting.

  • Thanks! Been meaning to buy this again since I damaged my last beyond repair - bought it from that exact listing for $237USD in 2009 according to Amazon

    Used your referral. Cheers Dion.

BJ7000-52E has jumped back up in price

  • Anyone find a cheap Citizen CC1054-56E?

    • Are you sure you have arms and not tree branches? Hehe. That beast is huge at 50mm

      • I have tried one at a Beville store. It actually fits quite nicely and because it's Titanium it's light as well

Does cashrewards do cashback on auction items?

  • Thanks OP. Gave in and bought one. :D

  • Crap forgot to do CR

    • You can easily cancel your order & do it again if it was a very recent purchase.

      • I think the watch is sold out now

  • Water resistant depth 200m 660 Feet

Are you sure? How do you know? The ad says it's 100m and the product image says 100m on the face, no?

    • If you look closely 200m is for BJ7000-52E model

      • Oh I was assuming the first description was for the watch in the title and on the main link.

    • The Nighthawk expired so I put a strike through it and redirected the link to the titanium model, rather than expiring the whole deal. Sorry to mislead.

Price jumped to US$233.71 as of 12:50PM :(

    • Ozbargain strikes again! :p

  • Dammit, was going ot buy this when I get home. :(

The first rule of Ozbargain is to buy first, think later.

      • But I'm at work :( and I don't feel safe logging into stuff like Amazon, paypal etc on my work computers lol

        • Mobile - use the Amazon app. No CR through the app though I presume.

  • Got mine today.. Pretty quick..
Watch looks nice. But the strap feels a bit cheap.

    • Which one did you buy?

      • The nighthawk

    • I think the strap feels pretty good - for this price. Can't expect an amazing strap sub $500. I think the clasp feels a tad light.

  • +1

Received mine late last week - very happy with it. Not a bad impulse buy. Thanks again OP. ;)
