The only game I don't have that's in this bundle is Shadows of the Empire and it's at the $14 tier… you can get it for US$5.99 on GOG.

I think Rogue Squadron and Rebel Assault are making their debut too (though I have them already)… probably should have kept all these games to no more than than BTA. $14 is too much for those of us just needing Shadows and not a big discount for those missing all three games above.

Ideally, they all should have been at $1 tier so we don't have to purchase so many excess games just to get the missing games not in previous packs, especially since they are all very old games and, for those like me who are only missing one game, BTA would have been too expensive still.

    • I see. Yeah. Some of the games are a little bit overpriced for the 14 $ tier considering their age. Will still get the 1 $ for the nostalgia though

Probably the best gaming pack for $1.38 you'll ever experience. Kotor and battlefront 2 are some of the best games I ever played. KOTOR is 30 hours of story alone. And if you've never played them well…

"You should go home and re-think your life" ;)

    • Epic games. Have played nearly all of them at some point. I'd never heard of rebel assault though. What type of game is it?

      • +1

It's a space fighter game. Pretty much a rail shooter. Had some hard parts from memory, especially the death star run.

    • +7

I'm rethinking my life right now… can't go home yet, just got to work

    • I played Kotor for the first time last year on my nvidia shield. But it glitched about half way though and all my save games had the glitch too. It wouldn't let me press the button on some elevator so I couldn't progress to the next level. CBF starting over.

      • +4

There's a save file editor that works pretty well. It saved me when I accidentally deleted all my saves.

    • Battlefront 2 is not in the $1.38 pack.

    • +2

Probably the best gaming pack for $1.38 you'll ever experience

… if you can get them to work. I bought all these in previous sales and most were unplayable on a Win10 PC. Some combo of just don't run, widescreen issues, crashing, etc etc… they are old now!

      • oh really? I thought they would have been modified to work on the latest machines?

      • Kotor 2 had a patch for modern systems, was it before or after that? Patched 20 Oct, 2015.

    • I should go home and rethink my life.

      Damn Jedi mind tricks!

  • The only one I need is Shadows of the Empire, why isn't it available to purchase on Steam?

  • Was excited but have most of these titles from the first two bundles.

Nice to see Humble getting back into gear tho. Been quite for a while

Thanks OP, me and my kids love star wars. Looks like I'm gonna have to build a gaming rig now, for the first time since 1991.

Anyone know the cheapest (that would run this full bundle OK) backend GPU to get geforce streaming to an nvidia shield?

    • +5

An Intel i3 7100 system will run these games at 720P with low-medium detail, with the built-in HD Graphics 630 GPU. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-HD-Graphics-630.187948.0.…

The same CPU with a Nvidia GTX950 will run all at these 1080P high detail fine. I've seen 2nd hand GTX950's sell for ~$120(2GB) to ~$150(4GB) models. If you want something faster there is now the GTX 1050Ti cards, but they cost $180-$250.

Example system below with MSY pricing. Will need to add whatever GPU you choose.

      $161 Intel i3 7100
      $139 Asus Prime B250M-Plus
      $69 8GB Crucial DDR4 2133 kit (2x 4GB modules)
      $110 240GB Intel 540 M.2 SSD
      $64 Corsair CX-430 430W V3 80+ PSU
      $49 TP-Link WDN4800 Dual-band Wi-Fi PCIe
      $55 CoolerMaster Masterbox lite 3 m-ATX case

      Total $647

You could spend more for an i5 but it will push the price up by $100, without making much of difference (if any) to running these games, once a decent GPU is added to the system.

      • Thanks, yep will be looking on eBay for a second hand gpu. I already have a grunty dual Xeon workstation to put the gaming GPU in. I'm just struggling with the confusing nvidia model numbers. Apparently it needs to be a gtx650 or better for shield streaming. Was thinking a gtx770 would be good because then I could use it for both work (4 concurrent screens) and play.

        • +1

A 4GB GTX770 would be quite good too if you find one for a decent price. Lately I've seen GTX970's selling 2nd hand for $200-$240 which are newer, much faster and use much less power, so depending on your budget I'd consider them too.

        • @xuqi:
Gah, if up the budget to around $200 I can get a new GTX1050. If I'm reading right, to get 4 concurrent monitors, I would need a GTX770, but then I may as well get a GTX970 for better power consumption/performance, but then I may as well get a (4 display) 1050 no?

Power is an issue for me, I like to keep it low. Plus my workstation will be pretty heavily loaded already with the dual xeons and 48GB of ram.
Like one of these (draws all its power from the 75W slot)…

        • @stumo:

It all depends on what better suits you needs. The GTX970 (145W) will do 4x display output, is faster than the GTX1050 in 3D but also consumes up to almost 2x the GTX1050 (75W) power.

          GTX970
          http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-970…

The 75/145W is ~ the max the cards may draw whilst under heavy 3D load, but both are quite efficient when used for general daily use.

    • No problem, stumo!

You could try builds from PCPartPicker!

  • Wow some memories there, used to love playing rogue squadron

    • Same, it was the first 3dfx game I ever played. It really did look amazing at the time.

      • Mine was Shadows of the Empire followed by Rogue Squadron

      • Mmmmmmmm Voodoo2 cards in SLI

        • +1

Yeah, those were exciting times. Plus you had to have a separate video card for 2d. So you had like three video cards in your machine.

Looking back, that was pretty much the last time that graphics have really wowed me. I remember the old Pac-land arcade cabinet back in 1982 and being amazed at the colourful cartoony graphics. Kirby's adventure on the NES and seeing Sonic the Hedghog playing at the local Big W were pretty amazing too.

I suppose seeing Soul Calibur on Dreamcast was a bit wowish and there have been amazing games since, but its a bit like Xeno's Paradox, once graphics look this close to real, any further advances are going to seem incremental in comparison with the leaps and bounds of the past.

JK2 is the best LAN game ever! man that brings back memories

    • Does it have online multiplayer that still works?

I used to love LANing JK2 for lightsaber & force power duels. Such a great game, would still hold up today!

      • I remember joining public servers and instead of fighting the players would just stand around in a circle watching lightsaber duels. I would just run up and start randomly killing people and they would gang up on me and stomp me into the dirt.

        Good times.

        • Sounds like dark souls pvp - some things never change

    • Battlefront 2

    Is this correct?

NVM, some game from 2005 not the upcoming title.

    • You mean the one that's been out since last year?

      • +1

No there actually is a Battlefront 2 coming out this year, the sequel to the one released last year. Apparently this one will have a single player campaign, so I'm actually looking forward to this one. :)

        • +2

Essentially the game they should have released last year.

        • +2

So there's going to be two games called Star Wars Battlefront 2… EA brilliance strikes again!

    • +1

some game??? this was an excellent multiplayer shooter…as was the original battlefront …if the new series could emulate what they had for that era it might be worth considering.

      • -5

Yep, stuff no one cares about.

  • +1

I have played most of these games…EXCEPT KOTOR.

    That will now change.

    • -2

      Get ready for dated graphics.

      • +5

I am currently playing Civ 2 and Dungeon Keeper so graphics is not a concern.

        • -5

Marvellous. No idea why you would play Civ 2 now given how the game has moved on.

        • +2

          @Diji1:

I understand your point, but Civ 2 is still one of the best games I've ever played and is very re-playable.

  • +2

For those new to KotOR be sure to also check out this site - http://www.nexusmods.com/kotor/?. You can find some really cool mods for the game including graphics overhauls that look amazing (I recommend the HD skybox mods) as well as some with gameplay changes, extra weapons/armour etc.

    • +1

I have yet to use an "overhaul" mod that worked well enough for me to not want to remove it.

      • +2

I've just finished a playthrough and the assorted graphics mods were brilliant. It's not a single mod, I think I used about 3 or 4 - the best by far is the one that improves the graphics from inside the Ebon Hawk's cockpit. Previously the graphics were blurry, now very clear and show what you should be seeing out the cockpit windows.

  • +1

Jedi Outcast was one of the best games I ever played. It's even good now still.

  • I have most of these already unfortunately.

  • Picked myself this bundle up myself as it was really good value and the included games are top tier.
