Was at HN Cannington - WA looking for a laptop, couldn't go past this for the price of $1019!

The guy mentioned there were 'heaps' in stock. Trying to clear them. You will have to check your local store to see if they'll do the same deal. If enough people want it, I'll put up a receipt.

      You can get it cheaper at O.W so ($1019 - $99)*0.95 = $874. OW doesn't offer cashback promotion so if the raw price comes with cashback; OW will have to beat the price after cashback. Have fun!

    Wish it wasn't acer.. Not a single acer laptop I've owned that hasn't overheated like mad - it'd like they're designed for use in antarctica (if you're in antarctica, this is the deal for YOU!)

      Same here. Our family has 3 acer laptops and they all overheat. It's impossible to use one on your lap for more than a few minutes because they get so hot that it feels like they will burn your skin.

      You can't play any games for more than 10 minutes or they overheat and restart.

    So I took this into Harvey Norman Munno Parra SA, the douche of a sales dude laughed at it, said its $400 below cost and sites like ozbargain are illegal. I lol'ed at him, went to a different salesmen and bought the 5820TG for $1365, $330 below the marked price.

    Then I got back to the car, and realized there is also a $169 cashback. So I won, HN loses :D

    went to HN Midland WA, handed the receipt to the woman serving me and she gave a bunch of excuses as to why the guy in cannington sold it so cheap, also said the sales guy got in trouble for selling it that cheap (how true that is, is anyone's guess)

    but they had 40%off laptops anyways, so i ended up getting a core i5 for $779

      That is absolute bullshit. I got a call AT WORK from HN Midland asking me why I put up that receipt. I said I put it up to help anyone who wants a similar deal. She said 'we can't match that price' to which I replied 'thats none of my business, you can do what you want, I just did the right thing and helped others'. She promptly hung up after that.

      AND THE SALES GUY WOULD NOT HAVE GOT IN TROUBLE BECAUSE THIS DEAL WAS AN ADVERTISED PRICE. HE DID NOT GIVE ME A SPECIAL DEAL. SO SHE ALSO LIED TO YOU.

    My dislike for Harvey Norman as a whole is growing. The way they pressure things like bullshit extended warranties on the customers is rude and misleading. I was called crazy by two different salesmen for declining $148 for 3 yrs.

    Take your average middle-aged shopper - there gonna fold and get reamed by Harvey Normans scare and intimidation tactics.

      I recently bought a bunch of stuff @ Penrith and then wanted to return 2 out of 3 items completely un-opened and they forced me to pay 20% re-stocking fee on $1200 worth of stuff…

      They wouldn't budge and I felt trapped shopping there.

      I'm going to price match DSE next time they do that I'm going to waste all the salesmen' time and then buy it there for the same price 14 day money back no questions asked…

    Hah Purplemonkeychair! You got her after me :-) I went into Midland and saw that girl, she took the reciept and was gone a good 10 minutes, obviously ringing Cannington when she came back she said she cannot match that deal, can only sell it to me for $1300.00 so I said, I'll go to Cannington then and she said They are all sold out so I said I'll just ring them :-) Sure enough, 3 left in stock at that time so went and bought the two I was after, one for me one for my niece. HN Cannington were fabulous, quoted that price to us on the phone without prompt. Don't know how Midland girl can lie straight in bed. Thank you so much wazza23 :-)
