  • Any good deals on raspberry pi 3?

    • I think they're made in the UK, so probably not.

You can get the less supported knock-offs really damn cheap though.

      • The Made in China Pis are legit. There was too much demand so they had them made in China to keep up with demand.

        • Good to know.

By knock-offs, I was referring to things like Orange Pi.

Last time I looked for Raspberry Pis on AliExpress they weren't any cheaper than element14.

I just put in an order last night :-(

Any flexibility on retrospectively applying the promotion please @Clear :-) ?

    • +4

If only I was a rep for either company…

    • Ha…me too. Had a basket of stuff I put through last night.

    plus 7% cashback ???

  • Time to jump on a oneplus 3?

    • +14

      Why, are they that bad?

    • -1

Why does it still cost so much? It's been out for almost 8 months now.

      • +3

Good things come at a price.

        Sent from my OnePlus 3.

      • +1

Yeah, they don't seem to drop in price until a new model is released. I'm interested in the 3T, but now that you can pick up a HTC 10, S7, LG G5 etc. for around the same price as the OnePlus, it makes it less clear cut (in my opinion).

        • +1

My thoughts too. Was hoping it would start heading in the direction of the Redmi Note 4

  • Sorry for the newb question, but AliExpress is kind of like a Chinese Amazon, made up of all different resellers? 10% cashback makes the OnePlus 3/3T tempting.

    • +1

      Yes that's correct.

I have never had luck getting cash back from aliexpress. My last orders have been declined after showing up in my orders and waiting the 3 months for payment.. I don't use coupon codes nor do anything else against the rules.
I have had small value transactions approved but big dollar value orders always seem to be not accepted, cashrewards staff are useless when contacted too
Is there any other cash back website to try?

    • I've manage it get cashback after I turned off adblocker add-on. Might want to turn it off when you make purchases.

      • +3

Don't have any ad blocker installed. I have had success with small value transactions. But my last 2 orders both over a few thousand were declined. Response from cash rewards very generic - "The store has notified us that your purchase with AliExpress has not been attributed to Cashrewards and therefore we will not be paid for this sale" not sure why it showed up in my pending rewards and then was just declined 3 months later.

        • +5

My AliExpress purchases always get tracked..

I always try to minimise the steps between "Cashrewards website click-through to Aliexpress" to the Payment step..
Add everything to cart, then close the tab, open cashrewards, search aliexpress, click through the link and pay (the stuff in the cart is still there).

        • -2

It's possible that you've clicked through an AliExpress affiliate URL elsewhere and the commission has been given to that party instead of CR. Using another cashback provider and trying to get double cashback perhaps?

Also important to allow tracking cookies and not use an AV that loves to remove them (AVG).

        • @Clear:
          CJ earlier said:

          .

In that case OP might have got cashback via other channels. But as he got smaller cashback fine, I doubt that be the case.

I have heard in WP, multiple people not getting their items ( >100) and ALiexpress stating they have got signs and it is delivered. Heard it multiple times. As they dont use Paypal, it is a bit risky for expensive items. Stick to ebay with paypal or amazon which has much better service.

        • -1

@Gaggy: Definitely going to be double dipping based on the message he received from CR. You wouldn't get that if another affiliate wasn't involved.

        • @Clear: Sneaky one in that case. Would like to hear his side of story. very good CR though.

        • @Gaggy:
Don't have any other cashback accounts, don't even know of any others that offer cashback for AliExpress which is why I was asking the question. My last orders were for $2800 & $4200 so not getting the cashback is annoying. Nothing sneaky going on, not trying to scam the system… just asking if another website is more reliable because I am dealing with large orders on a frequent basis. Thanks

        • @cjmorgan87: In that case, not sure why Clear was that clear about it. I understand it is a bit nasty, if you don't get it on big ones.
Can Cashrewards inquire why it was rejected. Do they have a policy on max. cashback or order amount?

        • +2

          @Gaggy:

Thanks for being so patient while we investigated your AliExpress transaction.

We were super happy to have the opportunity to try to rectify your rewards, however we did not have success on this occasion. The store has notified us that your purchase with AliExpress has not been attributed to Cashrewards and therefore we will not be paid for this sale.

There are quite a few reasons why transactions may be attributed to another channel other than Cashrewards. Here are a few the store has specifically told us about:
          Having open other web pages (including search sites, social media, other store sites) or web browsers whilst visiting the store;
          Clicking though to another page from a banner or ad on the store's webpage whilst shopping;
Antivirus/cleanup application tasks may remove tracking cookies (which are required to track transactions).
Use of a coupon code not originated on the Cashrewards site

Even though you have not had success on this occasion, please keep trying!

This was the full email from CR. None of the above reasons apply to me. I haven't seen anything in the terms to say they have a max cashback. I do very similar to what cwongtech suggested, add to cart, close ali, open cashrewards - click through, then checkout. Just seems a bit strange that my $30 orders always get approved but my $2000+ orders don't, maybe something sneaky going on at CR

        • +1

@cjmorgan87: True. Not sure if it is CR or Aliexp, but something is going on. Thanks for giving explanation and other users might find it either useful or report the same issues they had. I have used Alibaba sellers with Paypal and UPS express shipping, as I dont like giving my Credit card details to Aliexp and no tracking or shipping.

        • @Gaggy:

Do they still not use PayPal? Saw this on Reddit

You can try alibonus.com . If you use android, download the app.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/291792

      • Thanks will check it out

    • Try www.topcashback.Co.uk never had any tracking problems with them for aliexpress

      • I have, for both my transactions through them. That said, when I chased them up via support, they were super helpful.

I ordered stuff 11th November 2016 (during 11/11 sale) that only tracked in TCB 2 months later in January 2017. Part of the reason I ordered was due to $10 bonus and higher than normal cashback rate at the time.
The support lady confirmed that my date of order met the requirements for the $10 bonus and added it to my account plus adjusted the cashback rate to the higher 11/11 rate on offer at the time even though I had not mentioned it.

        • Speaking of the 11/11 sale, one of my items which was ordered during that sale has finally turned up today……3 months after it was shipped.

        • @ash2000: Lucky you. I opened a dispute on an order today since it's been in Melbourne since early January.

        • @Clear:

This 3 month in transit parcel only arrived in Australia 2 days ago acording to the tracking. So it was sitting in china for most of those 3 months.

Any parcel that tracks to australia and isn;t seen withing 2-3 weeks will never been seen again in my expereince….I'm guessing damaged address label. I think you can safely order a replacememnt.

        • @ash2000: Dodgy Auspost staff compensating for their bad pay /conspiracy

  • Would this work even if I have the item shipped to another country?

    • +1

Would this work even if I have the item shipped to another country?

Why would anyone care where you send it? As long as you have the sale tracked you'll get the 10%.

  • how do sites like this even work?

    • Affiliate networks. Clicking on a store at CR takes you through an affiliate link. You make a purchase and a percentage is paid to Cashrewards who then give you a portion of that as cashback.

      • I think he means Aliexpress

        • Well in that case then… AliExpress is like Amazon. It is made up of different Chinese sellers ;)

        • +2

          @Clear:

I think more a cross between Amazon and eBay as AliExpress don't actually sell anything unlike Amazon and hundreds of sellers can list the same item but they appear on their own pages more like eBay.

This phone received some good comments here from owners -
    KING 7 PPTV Smartphone Helio X10 Octa Core 6.0 inch 2.5D IPS 2K Screen 2560x1440 3GB+32GB 4G LTE

    • Interesting. I'm thinking of getting the Redmi Note 3 SE but yours is quite a bit cheaper.

The redmi has the B28 band, fingerprint sensor and there are more reviews verifying the build quality & OS.

When the same product is being sold I can often get it a few cents cheaper on eBay. It's just a shame that exploitation of "product variants" has made eBay search and sorting by price a frustrating endeavour.

  • Are you better off using this cashback or using the 5-10% discounts (varies per seller) for using the AliExpress mobile app?

    • Depends if the discount from the seller is >10%

  • +6

Great news guys. Our terms have just been updated to allow tracking via the AliExpress app…

    https://www.cashrewards.com.au/aliexpress

Purchases made using the AliExpress App are now eligible for rewards as long as the following conditions are met:

    • Download the AliExpress App from iTunes or Google Play.
    • From your preferred mobile browser, you MUST begin from a logged-in Cashrewards session and search for AliExpress on your phone/tablet.
    • When you tap 'Shop Now' or 'Go to Store', your device will automatically open the AliExpress App, or you will be presented with an option to download the App.
    • If the App opens automatically, great. You're on your way.
    • If the App does not open automatically, select 'Download' from the top right of screen and the App will open.
    • Shop as normal.
    • Nice. Solves the problem of deciding whether its cheaper to buy from the APP with the "App only discount" or from the browser with the cashback.

      • When you tap 'Shop Now' or 'Go to Store', your device will automatically open the AliExpress App, or you will be presented with an option to download the App.

Is this working for anyone in iOS? I get a download link in android, which then opens the already installed app, but not in iOS.

Makes me think the "deep linking" (automatically opening web links in apps) hasn't been properly formatted.
