How is an individual going to know how to correctly place the impression tray with alginate(?)into the mouth, without tearing or warping the impression?

    • -1

OP doesn't care. They just want your money.

      • +2

Absolutely do care, JV. We work with our customers to get it right. If they're unhappy in the end, we give 'em their money back. :)

    • We have a great little instruction video here, itajac:

Fact is, our successful impression rate is extremely high and if we don't get an adequate impression you can do it again.

      • Thanks for the link.Do you provide smaller sized trays, for children having their mouthguard made?
Where abouts in Melbourne are you located, if someone would like one of your dental technicians to take the impression?
Also how many tries would you allow before the client got it's money refunded if the mouthguard was a poor fit.

        Thanks

        • We sure do. When you're ordering online you'll check whether it's for a kit or adult.

          We're in Moorabbin.

As many as it takes, really. 99% of customers get it right the first try. :)

    Are these suitable for MMA?

    • +2

Yes, you can wear them in the Melbourne Metropolitan Area, as well as in the country footy leagues…

      • Lol! I think this comment deserves a rear naked choke finish while practising BJJ

    • We have heaps of MMA'ers as customers. Go the Xtreme through for the best protection.

I would go and see a real orthodontic technician if you want a proper mouth guard.

    • or your family dentist…

      • +1

That is true, dentists take the impressions but most actually dont make the mouth guards, they hand that work to orthodontic technicians. The old man is one.

The same people that make ours. :D Though, ours are staffed in our own lab.

    • +1

Certainly an option, ruddiger7. If you're in Melbourne, you can book an appointment to have one fitted by our techs. :)

      • +1

Yeah if that is an option, I'd recommend that. I can remember how unpleasant getting an impression can be. Stuff can make you want to gag at times and you would hope to do it properly if attempting it yourself is all.

        • Being in the business of doing in-clinic impression ourselves, we acknowledge there is benefits doing it yourself. Nobody knows your mouth better than you. :)

        • @pa-gameday: Just to clarify, we don't actually do in-clinic impressions. But we have plenty of practitioners in Melbourne we can recommend our customers to should they prefer it. :)

Can this be claimed on health insurance?

    • Not at the moment, Rocket. We're working on supplying selected dentist, in which case it would be.

If you go to your dentist can be claimed through health fund. Actually got my sons for no cost this year!

    • Very true, but not an option for many. :)
