  • arnt kingston horrible drives now?

A few things everyone should know, as per the top comment, yep.. Kingston has a bad history (especially currently) with SSD's and this one is no exception. The NAND memory is 2d 'triple stacked' instead of true 3D-NAND (Much preferred by most, Samsung are somewhat the best known for this style).

This model in particular is definitely a good price for general use since its just an OCZ drive with a Marvell controller but I would highly suggest not using it for data you absolutely cannot lose and also, DevSLP is missing from this device so if you're a laptop user that needs every moment of their battery life, steer clear.

    • how about a Transcend SSD220 240GB for $96?

I brought a Kingston SSD 3 years ago and never had a problem, just recently upgraded to 850 for $119

    • Kingston isnt a top tier company, however the price is right and nobody serious compares it to a samsung etc.

Also prices are a bit bonkers now… I bought two of these for $77 last year.

      • Yes I remember I got mime $70 something…

      • $77 for which one? 240gb kingston or sumsang?
