beat me to it ..hehehe
Only if you turn down some settings and set DLSS to Performance :P
only if you turn frame gen to 4x :P
you need frames in the first place to generate them
@AnnoyingEshayLad: Actually I wonder what the min base frame rate required for frame gen is, but probably irrelevant since anything under like 60fps gives crap latency with frame gen anyway
@reactor-au: so at an extreme example, 4fps, a 4x increase can only generate between 1 and 2, 2 - 3 and 3 - 4
so 3 gen'ed frames max, but then, it really doesnt make it any better.
frame gen really only makes sense above 60fps native framerate
On a serious note I've got the Gamerock version of this and it runs BL4 just fine using the automatic settings plus DLSS 2x
I've got a 5070 Ti (worse performance than the 5080) and get 140+ FPS on max settings. Shouldn't be an issue at all.
i dont believe you
ok.
720p?
1440p.
Getting negged for being able to run a video game well is pretty funny.
5070ti averaged 43fps at 1440p native max settings in HUB's testing, dlss quality shouldn't get you anywhere near that high. Wasn't just HUB getting these numbers either.
@JerraJones: Don't know what to tell ya. 140FPS, no problem. There are definitely a couple framerate spikes, but otherwise that's just how it runs.
I just think it's funny that those negging can't even begin to fathom the concept that somebody could be experiencing the game at a higher framerate than them. GPU isn't everything. There's tons of variables. One that might be worth noting is I'm running Windows 11 LTSC, a stripped down version with a lot of Microsoft bloatware (that can run in the background and have significant impacts on performance) outright not present. It's also a new build, only about a month old. My fans are always set to maximum speed for maximised cooling.
It's just worth considering that the tests these big YouTubers do are not the be all and end all.
@dongltron: Custom windows builds affect cpu usage, not for a game that's heavily gpu bottlenecked even at 1080p medium settings since the 9800x3d is in use for benchmarks. Fans at maximum speed wouldn't affect your gpu performance in any sizeable way unless you're thermal throttling.
I trust the tests the bigger youtubers who've been doing this for 10+ years over a random ozbargainer. If the game performed for everyone as well as it did for you then the litany of negative reviews for the game wouldn't exist, even the positive reviews are pointing out the awful performance.
@JerraJones: Don't know what you want from me then, I'm afraid. Just sharing my personal experience. I'm not bragging, I've got no reason to lie. Sorry?
@JerraJones: https://ibb.co/Jgq2vT8
For anybody who's convinced I'm lying, I guess.
New update seems to have improved performance, it seems. Now consistently 190-210. Max settings on everything except DLSS. DLSS is set to Quality, not Full Resolution (50 fps difference for no perceptible graphical improvement). And yes, it stays around this when in fights full of visual effects, too. Probably drops to 150 in these situations at worst.
Again. Sorry?
ATL still around $800 more than I'd pay for a GPU. Man things are crazy. My ($760) 3080 is still ok for 1440p.
I'm not broke because I only buy things that are value for money.
How much did you pay for that 3080 and when though..
@warclone: 2022 when Etherium changed to proof of stake. Got it second hand for $760. Seemed brand new when opening it. Never gave me any issues.
@locknuts: So you bought a card second hand , 2 years after its release date and using that as a comparison for this deal for 'value'… arnt you about 1.5 years too early here since the 5080 was only released in Jan this year.
I think you need to wait till 2027 and check the price for a second hand 5080
@warclone: Ok find me a RTX 4080 for $900 or less. It can't be done. If it could, I'd already have one. I don't think the 5080 will go down that much.
@locknuts: i dont follow CPUs/GPUs and i only just recently upgraded from an i7 6700 & 3060, so im not really educated on the subject but still think thats a dumb statement.
the 3080 you scored cheaply because crypto mining bought out stock so then when the shift happened there was an influx in availability and drop in price
the 4080 was terrible value and not many were bought according to sources…so there is no influx of availability like the 3080
your upgrade path of value of money based on what you paid =/= the overall value for money of a card
so if you judge a 3080 at $1500 in the first year of release vs the now 5080 at $1750 i reckon that is pretty decent.
@bAps: I never bought crypto. I just figured there'd be panic sellers when mining became unprofitable.
Although I kinda wish I bought Bitcoin back in 2009/10
This whole 'you don't want to spend money so you're obviously poor' thing is getting old.
so is,
I have a high end card for its generation so this new card is not good value because im looking at it only from my upgrade path POV
This commenting about stuffs too expensive for what you want to pay is getting old really.
i'd rather have this and let the kids have instant ramen for a month
username checks out.
Should go ahead or hold for 5080S
If you dont need need it right now, wait for black friday/cyber monday sales. It is not that far away and its bound to have even better deals.
Said sales have been absolute dogwater in aus since covid.
If deals are that good on BF/CB, then they will be sold out due to limited inventory. So better buy when competition is less.
I was planning to hold off on black friday, but I jumped at this deal. The card will be delivered today. If you see a really good price you don't have to wait. For me I would wait to see what we can get in the BF deal.
Or for $50 more you can get it without borderlands
Only an ATL by $4, or potentially not an ATL at all, but don't know about Delivery fees for those deals.
It was available at $1,754.1 Last Month

Interesting site, is this manually updated?
The 5070 super will have more VRAM than this thing.
this should be able to run borderlands 4 fps
