Thanks to Silverrat23 for the heads up, but I don't think this belongs in the forums!

My NES Classic Mini post brings all the haters to the yard and they're like, our RPi is better than yours

  • For anyone tech savvy, I would recommend against getting this and buying a RetroPie. Just search for it on eBay.

  • If you still had all your old NES games, you could always just buy one of these: http://www.play-asia.com/nes-8-bit-top-loader-silver-black/1…

    • Until they spend their money on some of the uhh, "recommendations" below.
      lol

  • +1

I hate how nintendo are doing this shit. If people keep spam buying these consoles the second they are released then nintendo will keep using this strategy of under supplying. Then other companies will start doing it. then we're all going to be looking at products that are hugely priced gouged by (profanity) ebay sellers for 300% the rrp.

No different from those Chinese Students who queue up in front of Apple whenever a new iphone or ipad is released, grab the limit and hopping onto the plane to fly back to China and selling them for 300% RRP. Stupid people buy at those prices. But mainland Chinese wont buy the NES since they've been pirating the NES for over 30 years now with actual hardware (instead of emulation) and a 500 games in one cartridge type deals.

Nintendo will make more. It has already been confirmed. Patience is a quality that little kiddies on OzB dont have.

  • oh the irony

  • Guaranteed to provide literally an hour of entertainment.

In all seriousness though, my only complaint is the decision to include crappy arcade ports instead of just NES exclusives.

    • BS.. i played double dragon II for a month. Mario 3 is about a few weeks

      • Double Dragon II and Galaga are the exceptions. But why bother putting Pacman and Ghost N Goblins on this thing instead of something like Smash TV or Ducktales?

        • Probably price. They can continue to sell those titles on virtual console. This mi I has a fantastic library of games.

  • Basically every time NES Classic is available at Target, COTD or any other store . Stupid black market sellers bounce there & buy every single one then sell it with double/triple price on Ebay. I'm not sure if ozbargain stopped announcing new NES availability, consumers might have a better change of getting one or not !

  • I dont get the craze TBH, I grew up playing these games but even on retropie which has way more access to other consoles I spent maybe 30mins total playing a few "classics".

Are people just going FOMO or is NES back in fashion ? Thought PS4/XB1 was where the fun was at??

    • The people buying them now probably didn't own one when they were young, they just played their friends' at the time and wished they could own one in the near future.

Now, Nintendo gives them an opportunity to realise their childhood dreams for $99, don't you think it's a bargain, at least for them.

      • No? Didn't own a NES either
