For anyone who still uses Wii / Wii U stuff, these cords can be used as extenders for the nunchuck or Classic Controller / Pro.

Likewise, the Classic Controller / Pro can be plugged into the NES. Kinda wondering why they didn't mention that in the marketing, they didn't include a charger with the N3DS because everyone had one lying around apparently, well, by the same merit, you'd think everyone would supposedly have a Wii lying around, and honestly, I'm a lot more likely to buy something new if I know it works also with something I already have.

Anyway, aside from the fact I'm surprised they made the cord so short to begin with, I'm done.

Oh, actually I'm not, Target also sell knock off NES controllers now for 19 bucks for this with the same connector and that, odds are they'll drop them soon anyway as Target often do with after market controllers and whatnot, so keep an eye out there if you need another remote :)

    • Don't really need a charger as most TV,s with HDMI usually have a USB port that's how I'm using mine

      • Well, since Nintendo never included a USB charger with ANY variant of the 3DS (or DS for that matter), you clearly have bought a cord for it in the end anyway.

The USB route is generally way more convenient, but since it uses a proprietary setup, you still need to buy a cord for it, even if aftermarket. I'd have preferred they did with the 3DS what the Vita 2000 did and supported standard phone cables, but the Switch is doing that anyway so I'm happy.

And with Hakchi, you can set a button combo to reset the console and return the the game selection menu!

Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Start.

      Right?

Haha, the Konami Code might be a bit complex when you just want to choose another game.

At least it's not a Hadouken:

          Down, down-right, right, B.

@subywagon: Better than the blisters Mario Party used to give you..

        • @buckster: I never played Mario Party… is it worth giving a go?

@subywagon: The original is great and can break friendships no matter how strong - as long as you don't mind a big hole through the middle of your palm afterwards.

        • @buckster: That was back on the Snes wasn't it? I think I remember when it was in an old Nintendo Magazine System issue :P

    • The main reason why I grabbed the cables hakchi makes our life a lot easier to change currently have it setup as up/select/start

  • If these are like all the other NES Mini extension cords you'll need to hack off the little plastic clip on the plug to fit in two controllers.

    • Not sure what ones you have been buying but the Powerwave, @Games and a few other generics have 2 little screws holding the plastic clip in place.

Funny thing I have two extension cords for the NES mini controllers in the cupboard waiting for the NES mini since first released. I just hadn't been lucky enough to get on yet haha.

One wonders how a company can be so stupid to make the cords on their controllers so short.

  • Awww no black :(

    • Yep just a bit more:
      2M - US$1.99
      3M - US$2.27

Did Nintendo ever make a extension cable on its own?

    Edit - Seems they didn't

Can you use PayPal as a payment option???

    • Not for AliExpress sadly; but of the few issues I've had there, getting a refund has never been one.

      • Ahhh I'm always worried without PayPal ;(
