 - Both, and mostly because most video content is made exclusively for widescreen formats. - However, for computer usage, standard width is fine. But naturally more screen = more things you can see. - 21:9 is almost as wide as your cinematic (anamorphic) ratio and much wider than 16:9 which is basically the standard for online and TV. - 21:9 for me is highly specific for people who are going to use it predominately for movies and games - for anything else I'd much prefer one or two 16:9 monitors.

 - Good for laaarge worksheets.
 - Pleasure is highly dependent on width….

 - This is their normal price, right?
 - website says it is a 75Hz display, but without g-sync or freesync this will actually pose more problem than worth?
http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-29UM58-P-ultrawide-monitor - Why would it pose a problem? Your video cards have been waiting for years to stretch their legs a little.

 - The 29" has been hovering around this price for months.
 - Just so you all know, have the USA version, same specs and it's resolution is not great for the size of screen.
Ok for movies, games etc but I got this for stock trading and regret the buy.
 - Guys the 34inch ultra wide is equivalent to 27inch vertical dimension. I got a dual set up 34inch ultra wide & 27inch normal which the vertical height is almost the same 98%.
Which means the 25inch might only be a regular 22inch vertical height - 29" is similar height and DPI as 24" 16:9
34" is similar height and DPI as 27" 16:9
 - This is 29", similar height as 24" 16:9 screen.

 - How do they get the plastic to look, just that little bit cheaper?

It's wider better or just a matter of preference?
