Xbox One 1TB Fallout 4 Bundle - $284.05 Shipped at Microsoft Store

970
AFEB05

Yet again no match for the multitude of pre-Christmas sales, but $284.05 looks to be the best price on a 1TB Xbox One at the moment (unless your local Aldi still has stock gathering dust in the cabinet). It includes Fallout 4 and Fallout 3 Download Tokens as well, so that's about $20 worth of fun there. If you go through CashRewards you'll get another couple of dollars back as well.

Yes, it's the old fat model, so no 4K or HDR either - but at least it has a dedicated Kinect port. Unfortunately the $60 off $300 spend AMEX promo has already ended, else it would have brought it down to being a great deal. That being said it's still significantly under the price of any of the Xbox One S 1TB bundles at the moment though.

these things are pretty cheap these days

    • +1

Because they are selling the units for less than costs. But they then get their money from games, services etc.

      • Good Lord, how much stock of this old brick can there possibly be. Surely these have been out of production since before the slim model. Seems MS overestimate demand like nobody's business.

  • Good price

Sigh, still waiting for the crazy cheap Xbox One S deals to come back, now that I have a 4K TV and can justify one.

    • Wonder if there will be a good Halo wars 2 bundle or the Christmas deals are as good as it will get.

      • I don't think we will see deals as good as they were pulling at Christmas for a while :(

  • I don't even have a 4K TV, but I'm struggling to justify why not to just pony up a few extra dollars (or wait for another deal) and get the S model for future proofing.

    • If you're happy to wait on the slim, just wait for the 'scorpio' details to emerge. Who knows where pricing will go once we see what it's capable of.

  • Would be nice if the PS4 went down to this price, but doubt that would happen anytime soon.

What the mofo. Plays heaps of good 360 games too

I recently found Catherine was $4.50 on the xbox store so ive been playing that through back compat as i never got round to it on 360, love finding the classics i missed out on like that, back compat is a massive plus imo

  • Haha nice! I have one myself!… although it hasn't seen the light of day since I play all my games on my PC :/

I had the original. I now have the slim. Since I don't have a 4K TV, I can't tell the difference. It plays the same games, the same way. The controller doesn't feel much different either and the "4% boost in clock speed" of the S is negligible.

I maybe get like one or two strokes less while I'm scratching my balls during loading screens than on the old console. Which you could argue is actually a bad thing.

Also my white S looks shit in my TV cabinet compared to the black model I had.

It's hard to play Battlefield and keep a good K/D ratio when I'm constantly worried that I'm not #accessorising correctly. 💅💄👄🤳

    • Since I don't have a 4K TV, I can't tell the difference
There's no difference in games anyway, 4k output is for UHD Movies only (and possibly the menus or some crap)

      • There is a difference for games too. Forza Horizon 3 for instance supports it and looks a bit nicer.

        • You got me there, forgot about the HDR support.

        • @Merlict: That was my bad for not mentioning the HDR bit!

    • one or two strokes less while I'm scratching my balls.

      Lol.

  • Have a launch console, activated the amex deal waiting for a slim to drop in price to no avail. Had the Harvey Norman deal saved to my card ready to jump on a slim as well. Credit card details were stolen and had to cancel that amex. Still waiting on a sub $300 for a slim price now :(

Pre ordered a Switch now 'for my daughter' I told the wife shifty eyes

Your daughter is going to dob on you when you won't let her play. So do the right thing. Be a good father. Buy two.

      • +1

"she wanted someone to play with, that's why I got the second one. I'm just trying to be good father is all"

  • so tell an old bugger…..what else can this box do, apart from take the tv away from me ?

    • +5

Cook breakfast, cure cancer, grow your pecker by 3 inches, turn water into wine, solve world hunger, allow you to time travel, the list goes on.

It also plays Bluray films, is a media centre (allows external hard drives), access to apps like Netflix and you can even watch TV through it.

      • And is about to be a Kodi box :D

        • +1

Explain how to make this a Kodi box

        • @YellowKnight: kodi is soon relating for xbox platform. Not much details yet except it's coming.

      • +1

wow - so better than a thermomix

    • +2

Forza, Halo, Crackdown, Gears of War, Halo Wars 2? For a start at least..and then XBOX also has the awesome EA Access.

        • Well, what are the PS4 exclusives you'd like to play… maybe that would help redeem what appears to be reverse fanboyism… I'd like a 'few'

        • @Soluble: if all things are equal then a game is best on PC, for example Doom. I would play Doom on PC without a second thought given to consoles.

For the PS4 - I would like to play Uncharted and The Last of Us Remastered.

Not much else I suppose. If they did have a plethora of great exclusives I would already own one.

          It would have to go:

          PC > Wii U > PS4 > XBone

        • Forza is the exception of games being better on PC. It's very resource hungry and runs lousy unless you have a top of the range setup. Runs fine on the Xbone.

  • Saw one for $249 in my Aldi. No games included.

    • Hi could you post location? Someone may want it :)

      • Sure… Ringwood VIC

  • Does it use much power? I mean, in many ways it needs to compete with a raspberry pi these days.

    • Sure does. I won't use it for Netflix because I use android box because of electricity

  • I thought the slim S is below 300, maybe another region had it.

    • +1

The slim S was available sub-$300 before Christmas, but since then it's been closer to the $399 mark.
