    says out of stock

  • +7

On back order. Hope they honour it.

  • Looks good, let's hope not a pricing error!

  • Does anyone know if they come in individual boxes, not really interested in the 10RNC

    • +2

In individual boxes inside one larger box. This is usaually a promotional item they bring out around XMAS time. Can't see them getting more stock.

      • Cheers for that :)

    • +1

It may be in a box like this?

  • +3

Have a feeling that Hardly Normal is not going to honour these "professional" orders.

    • I think it was meant to be a legit sale as apparently this is discontinued stock they were trying to clear but HN has no idea how to update their stock levels.

  • +2

Not a pricing error, confirmed by online team. Back orders they do try to fulfill.

  • Bought. Price is insane. Thanks Op

  • Amazing deal, thanks.

Each of these pairs alone is usually $200

    • But when everyone selling one of theirs on ebay next month, price will plumped to under $100

  • +3

Bought and asking questions later lol…

How do these ZX770 compare to say the Bose QC35's in terms of value for dollar?

I've checked some reviews but it's all a bit technical. I just know that the QC35 are very popular and sought after on OzB, hence that was my way of determining they're cream of the crop.

Been eyeing the QC35's for a while and almost jumped on them at the $340~ mark but never was able to bring myself to pull the trigger as I wasn't able to justify paying hundreds for noise cancelling headphones.

I fly every now and again and the last trip in early February I was punching myself for not finding a set of noise cancelling headphones.

These ZX770 ones should do the job easily right? So I don't really need to go with the extreme premium ones like the QC35?

    Any input greatly appreciated =)

    • +3

      On the same boat haha

    • +1

      Someone please answer.

    • +2

I have the QC25s and have tried the ZX in store. I'd say you can't beat the QC25/35 comfort and noise cancelling, but for $120 minus whatever you sell the 10RNC (which are also OK, just not that comfortable, I thought) for, I mean, there's no comparison. If you want value per dollar go the ZX. In anycase, if you've already bought them for yourself, try them and see if they are good enough for you!

    • +2

I have a pair of QC25 and recently bought the ZX770 for my son (HN $199). Both have similar sound quality with the Sony being a little more comfortable on my big noggin' (head). My Bose are a little trashed from me either sitting on them or dropping them so have bought this deal as a replacement. I did road test the QC35 at a Bose Shop and was underwhelmed by the lack of improvement over the QC25. I know it's not the QC35 comparison you were after but the best I could advise on!

    • +2

I sold my zx770s. I bought them from dick smith way back on an ozbargain deal for $80 sold them a year later for $140 after I got the Bose joint

Bought some QC 35s on an ozbargain deal. They're way better. Zx770 always had trouble connecting to another device if it's been paired with something else and kept having to reset them. QC 35s connect instantly between different devices, way better noise cancelling and more comfy. I think the Sony that are on par with the QC 35s are the MDR-1000x.

      • Cheers for the input…

Will see if this order goes through with HN, although ain't holding my breath given the comments about order cancellations!

If I don't get the order honored then will take it as a sign to wait on the QC35's lol =P

But if the order miraculously goes through then I still think it'll be a bargain good enough for cancelling out the dreaded baby cries and engine noise on flights from here onward.

        • I have the Bose QC25 - They are supposed to be good - and they DO filter the engine noise pretty good - but they are pretty much useless for baby cries :-(
Jumped on this as missed on the Sennheiser deal (got cancellation email) and need something to work - for this price ($50 each) they seems prefect price/performance ratio for that.

        • You won't be disappointed with the 770s they sound great and for this price You shouldn't regret it. I bought them not knowing shit about headphones but needed some and turns out I got an unbelievable price. Some people say the sonys are good if you have a massive melon and I think Peterx above you is a good example given what he just wrote. If he got the 1000x sonys he'd probably find they shit all over the Bose because of the reviews. I've read they are incredible especially if you have a big head. I was on the fence on getting the sonys myself (with frequent flyer points haha) but glad I went with Bose.

I got my QC 35s for l$319 (the Sony. Sale helped finance them too haha) and I don't regret it. Maybe they fit my melon better than the sonys did so that's why they work better. The Bluetooth resetting on the Sony just annoyed me. Also, to get the high fidelity sound you need to turn them on and hold the volume + button down. Which I had to do all the time because I was always resetting them. Guess it wouldn't matter if you only really use te one device but I was using my phone and laptop and desktop and it was a pain

    • I have the ZX770 and I really like them except one major gripe - you start to hear creaks while you have them on from the hinge that twists the earpiece sideways. This started happening after owning them for a few weeks. For some reason it's only the left side, I've tried two different units and they're both like that. It's super annoying when you're just trying to listen to music.

Apart from that, I think they're great. Just a few minor issues that aren't a big deal:
      - awkward controls to change modes
      - need to go into pairing mode to connect to another device instead of remembering multiple pairings
      - Bluetooth sometimes breaks up or drops out
      - mic is worse than the standard Apple earphones for phone calls, often times the other person can't hear what I'm saying, which never happens with the Apple earphones

The creaking I think is a dealbreaker. I just wish I could fix that.

In my view must be a pricing error….

They currently have the ZX770 being advertised on their own for $236.80…. Only difference is they have stock of this model!

Thanks OP, just wasted another $100.

  • oh what a plight being in ozb. continual spending. thanks OP

Hello Ozbargainer - Need any advice, talk to a expert now.

  • Wow, if this is legit it's a crazy deal. Bought.

  • Already have headphones which are reviewd much better but I guess these will be fine for the gym, or maybe even just throw aways.

  • Insane. Bought. Another 120$ thrown out of pocket

  • i dont need this, but i want this.

  • Lol, in the Harvey Norman live chat it says "Hello Ozbargainer - Need any advice, talk to a expert now."

    • Really?

  • +1

Making sure I don't get OzBargained and buy something I want but don't need.

  • I bought two, then realized I don't need two. Then bought another one…

    *Cancelled the first order

    • +2

      Yep, username checks out.

      • Now it says that the second order is being reviewed -_-

Just received a call from Harvey Norman: "We've just received your online order. Unfortunately there is no stock left in the country and it's a finished line so there won't ever be stock".

    • As expected. Very limited stock. This was a promotional item going back to xmas 2015

    • Just got the same call…

  • Have had problems with Harvey Norman when they refused to deliver my successful order due to "Out of Stocks" without any noticing till days later

  • Ordered :)) Thanks. Trust HN to honour their clients.

    • +1

      Look two comments up.

      • LOL

      • -6

HN didn't put Outofstock. Hope they will deliver as it's back order :)

    • It's 2017 not 1998

  • -4

piss on my piss.. recently bought QC25s for $330.. sigh

  • +1

    Thanks ordered one

  • Ordered as I have a soft spot for headphones.

Last cans I bought were Audio-Technica ATH-M50X which will be an interesting comparison.

  • Damn good price, shame is out of stock :(

  • Does the delivery order still work even though it is technically out of stocks everywhere?

  • +2

    professionals at it again.

  • its a seel just back ordered, thanks Naughtynaughten !

  • Just got a call too, no stock in whole Australia. No deal.

    • HN not honouring it?

  • waiting for my call

  • +5

Harvey Norman are useless and their so called e-commerce system is just as bad. How hard is it to set stock levels, set a flag so limited stock items don't get backordered etc. They waste everyones time and they take forever to process refunds. This isn't the start of the e-commerce revolution (well maybe it is for Gerry) and Harvey Norman has the most pathetic eccomerce product money can buy. They have invested nothing in it over the years and I can't recall a single purchase that was straightforward when dealing with Harvey Norman online.

JB HiFi also have a rubbish system and David Jones and Myer are up there as well. It's not hard nor expensive but Australian companies seem to think they know better than everyone else when it comes to online retailing.

  • +1

Email saying out of stock and refund will be processed. Classically, Hardly Normal. !

  • i thought this wouldnt be honoured.

still ordered in hopes of them giving us some credit ahahha

  • +1

they took down the page, errr

    • they took down the page, errr

Same as JB HiFi, instead of marking the product as discontinued and keeping the page there for reference they remove it.

  • +1

OP, edit the post to state it is OUT OF STOCK before more people order.

  • Gone already… darnnnn…

  • Being in WA sucks. Always late to everything…

    • I feel you mate… same here.. always out of stocks..:(

    • Don't fret, I don't think anyone got it.

  • +3

Carefull last 4 orders from HN over 500$ where cancelled and no refund was given 2 months later i had to chase up the refund when realised they didnt refund.

    Dodgy company.

  • Just got a call from HN saying they are working on giving everyone that ordered a different set of headphones of equal value!

    • +1

      Hmm interesting. I want Bose…

    • +1

Hmmm hopefully it's good otherwise I rather have it refund..

    • -2

Yeah I wont accept some shit ass $100 headphones. I only got this for the combined value.

    • Sounds like they're going to attempt to clear out stock of crappy headphones they can't sell. Let's see.

    • Are they even allowed to do that without our permission?

  • +3

got a call from HN, the guy spoke to me like i did a crime by ordering it. I told him that I just back ordered it because I'm allowed to. Didn't like his tone, told that i will be refunded. Very disappointing, at least the sales guy's tone could be a little bit kind enough. May be I could have asked that guy to sell me Sony ZX770 for 60bucks but i forgot. http://www.harveynorman.com.au/sony-zx770-bluetooth-noise-ca…

    • I asked about the ZX770 aswell, 'sorry the very best we can do is $236.80' :/

      • i think false advertising is a big deal. They should do better than offering mere refund.

      • +1

thats stupid though. even if they can't honour both headphones you could request them to still send out the ZX770.
Although i would ask for further discount on that as what we ordered was a bundle

      • according to this they should be able to go lower

    • +5

While I hate customer service reps with poor communication skills, I can only lol at this blokes Saturday facing this list of people from OzBargain he has to call and explain the same shit to

  • I paid using Gift cards, so they will refund me in gift cards as well?

    • Mine too but yet to get phone call or email. Still hoping they will honour :)

      • I gave them the wrong number (accidentally) so hopefully they will honour it because they can't reach me!

        • +1

Or, they delay the refund because they can't contact you….

        • +1

@dragonindespair: knowing them it's probably be the later :(

        • @dragonindespair:
Mine was correct. Did receive email communications confirming purchase but that was it…

  • Thanks HN, saved me $118, will buy one when it is on clearance.

  • +2

Got an email confirmation, nothing else. Seems they are quick to take my money and slow with everything else.

  • +3

The frequency of these Harvey Norman 'pricing errors' is pretty suspicious.

  • +1

This is why Harvey normal wlll only be selling furniture in 4 years time and Amazon will tish on them for online purchases.

They accused me of theft when they accidenttly credited an online purchase, and already had the item, the left a message threatened police involvment, however was overseas for 4 weeks. This was from two staff members from the hoppers crossing store, absolutely disgusting customer service.

  • Knew this will happen after they refused to honour my Toshiba laptop deal back 3.5 years ago.

  • That's why HN is never to be big name on retailer.

  • Had the same issue happen last time too

  • +2

Still haven't received a call or email. I ordered early in (5 up votes at time of order) so I'm hoping by some sheer luck that they'll honour it.

    • Same here, I wasn't that quick, ordered 45 mins after the deal was posted and haven't heard since (except for the order confirmation email).

      • +1

I hope they do something, and not just give us cheap headphones and an apology while keeping our money.

        • Without your consent that wouldn't be legal

        • +1

@tony abbott: According to zacsg1, they said they're working on a sending out a different pair to those who ordered, but I haven't been contacted about that.

  • Assuming this isn't a price error it's ridiculous pricing.
I bought one of these on an eBay sale 20% off and paid $200. I went to jbhifi and it was $299.

    How is this even possible!
