    • That's why we all wanted it, but it looks like none of us are getting it.

      • I hope some of you get it.

        They are nice nice headphones

Not sure how they compare with wc35s which seem to be the bench mark for the best

        • +2

Thanks, we'll have to wait and see.
I haven't received a call or email yet, I ordered almost immediately after the deal was posted but even then it said out of stock.

  • Any more calls received?
I haven't received either an email or call. If they weren't honouring the order the minimum I would expect is an email within hours of the order being made.
Hopefully they are working on an alternative or have a small number of units left so some will get theirs.
Alternatively they may email next week saying they are out of stock and my refund will take weeks to process. Maybe I'm cynical but I think this is more likely.

Just got this email from HN.

Harvey Norman would like to apologize for the recent glitch on our online store for the Sony bundle you recently purchased (MDR10RNC15BUNDL).
I have been informed from our head office that we can offer an alternative bundle which contains ZX770 Bluetooth noise cancelling headphones (MDRZX770BNB) & Sony on ear wireless headphones (MDRZX220BTB). This alternative bundle is $427 RRP worth of value for $118.40.
Otherwise I can also offer Sennheiser over ear momentum 2.0 (506249) for $428 RRP worth of value for the same price.
If neither options suit you, I can offer you a full refund of the price paid. Please advise of your decision at your earliest convenience, so that I can action this for you.

    • Kudos to HN for trying to come with a suitable alternative. Sure, the 220BT isn't noice cancelling and just a mid range set but still good value as a bundle. And the Sennheisers have very positive reviews as well!

    • Slight downgrade but not too bad. Also funny considering that Harvey Norman are currently selling the Momentum 2.0 over ear for $278

I haven't received a call or email yet. I'm guessing they're emailing people in batches to avoid selling out another product.

    • Hope i get that email soon!

Them Sennheiser's look awesome but really need wireless headphones :/ decisions decisions.

Must say odd that there including another set of wireless headphones over standard wierd ones.

    • +1

Same email here. Was a hard decision as the momentums were really tempting but wanted the noise cancelling and wireless.

      • Should of asked if you could get the ZX770 and the momentum headphones haha

    • By chance do you have a copy of this email that you can share?

I've just got a call from my local HN that I was to pick up from, but they are saying they can only offer just a single Sony on ear wireless headphones (MDRZX220BTB) as an alternative… wtf????

I would like to take this up with the head office if possible, and your email would be very handy! Appreciate if you could help =)

I'm not able to PM you as I don't think you have this active.

      • +2

Ok for all those that are following…

I just discussed with HN Online Enquiries regarding what I was advised by my local HN store. They played mediator for me with my local HN store.

Negotiated a deal that I would indeed still receive a bundle including the ZX770, but is on back order until mid-March.

So I'll get the ZX770 and MDRZX220BTB as a bundle, not just the single MDRZX220BTB on it's own, but need to patiently wait until it's in around mid-March.

Like a few others have said, I think for the ZX770 at around the $100 mark is a great deal already! Hopefully I can sell of the MDRZX220BTB ones for a few bucks to get the ZX770 under $100!

  • Hi guys. I got this message today. Is it any good or should I try and negotiate for something else?

Just an update we can offer as an alternative to what you have order

SONY ZX770 BT NOISE CANCEL HEADPHONES

    SONY ON-EAR WIRELESS HEADPHONES

Same price that you have paid, the online team have placed these on order with Sony and will be here shortly, if you do not wish to wait please respond back to this email and I will organise a full refund for you

    • I'd rather refund. The On-Ears are these https://store.sony.com.au/MDRZX220BTB.html and I bought a pair for around $30 directly from Sony.

      • Yeah I paid less than $40 for the next model up (330BT) this time last year. Having said that, that was a crazy deal - the 220BTB go for $100+ most places. I think $110 for just the ZX770BT is a nice deal in itself. Will make any overseas flight so much more enjoyable!

    • The on-ear headphones are pretty average but the ZX770 are probably worth it. Decent bluetooth noise cancelling phones.

    • I asked if it was possible. to substitute MDRZX110NC for the MDRZX220BTB as I wanted two pairs of noise cancelling, but I was told it wasn't possible.

      Decided to accept the bundle.

  • What's everyone's thoughts on the above deal?

Worth? or better off with the refund?

EDIT: I mean the zx770 alone isn't bad right? Just sucks that the offered deal can't be honoured or matched

  • I bought a set like this before our flight to Thailand. Paid close to 300 after a %off sale at JB….Well worth it, they are both fantastic! When you hit the button and the nise cancelling kicks in (even with no music playing) everything fades away. Its unreal.

I prefer the ones without bluetooth as they have dual mics for noise cancelling and cup goes over the whole ear, not just sits on it.

Sorry about the deal guys, but theyre both sweet

  • +1

Still haven't been contacted but I'm on the fence between the ZX770 or a refund. Also, an apparent value of $427 for the momentum's but it's on their own website for $278

    • Hmm same. Still no contact

    • So you can get an item with a RRP of $427 which happens to be on special now for $278 for an additional 57% off. That's still a very good deal. More importantly, from the reviews they appear to be pretty impressive NC headphones!

    • Think its worthwhile to just sell the ZX220 for $40 or so as then you will be getting the ZX770's for under $100, cant think of anything near that price that are both Bluetooth and noise cancelling overear headphones.

      • I agree..unless they offer the wireless momentum's, ZX770's for under $100 is a pretty good deal. Hopefully we'll hear from them before the end of the week

  • I've been contacted by email and offered exactly the same as previous comments here, ZX770 and ZX220 or Momentum Over Ear 2.0. Momentum was very tempting but wanted wireless and noise cancelling and guess next iPhone would have no headphone jack same as iPhone 7 so wireless would be better in long term.
The guy from Aspley HQ was very helpful and prompt in responding emails. I've asked if they could offer me other options with extra amount but told no, otherwise I have to pay the difference between their prices and $118.

  • Just got a call from my local HN, same offer as above (ZX770 and ZX220) or refund. However, have to backorder from Sony, eta mid-March. I'm happy to wait, it's great value for the ZX770, even before the ZX220 sweetener.

Pretty great that they are doing their best to honour a deal that I assumed would be cancelled due to price error.

    • Do uou mind telling me what time you placed your order? i'm still waiting for an email/call from HN too and was wondering how far along they've done

      • +2

Saturday, 10:30AM AEST. But the call came from my local HN in WA, I'm guessing each local store is progressing swap/refund discussions for orders in their area.

  • Still nothing here either. FYI, I got the confirmation email 11.32am.
Its nice they are making offers to some, but knowing they are out of stock and not even an email after 48hrs is just poor. Will get the refund as the alternate really isn't comparable.

  • Ordered around 10:40am AEST on Saturday. No email or phone call yet.

    • Same

  • Ordered at 11:13am on Saturday and got a call from my local HN at 9.30am today

  • Well that was unexpected.
I asked if I could grab the Bose QC35's as the RRP is similar to the Sony Bundle.
Have to wait to 2 weeks, but worth the wait.

    • +1

are you saying they agreed to that ?

    • Hmmm did you get this in writing (e.g. email) by any chance and if possible could you share this with us?

I just spoke with HN Online Enquiries requesting for the same and they said no way in hell a HN rep would have offered the QC35 as it's $499 currently on their site (much more expensive then the bundle), and the offer substitute they have been authorised to give is the MDRZX220BTB in replacement of MDR-10RNC.

If I was able to prove that you got the all clear for the QC35 in writing, then possible may be able to use that as leverage to negotiate further.

Your help would be much appreciated!

    • Pls respond OP

      • I'm calling bs on this one!

  • I was only offered ZX770 and ZX220 not the Momentum Over Ear 2.0 option. Sydney order processing by their Moorepark HQ. Might try for Bose QC35, worst they could do is say no!

  • I ordered at around 10:55am (AEDT)on Sat. I didn't receive any calls but I received an email earlier today offering a Refund OR to have (like others) the following items. I am very happy with this (Thank you HN).
    PRODUCT CODE
MDRZX770BNB SONY ZX770 BT NOISE CANCEL HEADPHONES $296.00
    MDRZX220BTB SONY ON-EAR WIRELESS HEADPHONES - $129.95

Looking forward to the MDRZX770BNB. Not sure on the MDRZX220BTB though. I have a pair of the higher end MDRZX330BTB from last years (Box damaged) Sony Sale and paid $59.95 but now show as RRP $179 on Sony site. These are great and I use for general non fussy listening while walking about the house or chatting on Skype. The 220 model here only has 8 hours battery life compared to 16hrs on the 330's. The 330's have a couple of other features that are missing from 220's. Regardless, I think (hoping)the 220's should be absolutely fine for general listening & Skype Chats and certainly not to be scoffed at (unless you are a audiophile).

  • I ordered at 11.11am on Sat - still no call/ email yet today

  • +1

Got a refund on my orders and no alternate option provided.

    • Was an email sent notifying you of this or did you just notice this as a transaction?

    • that sucks to hear mate especially with the decent offer HN has been offering the others.

  • I ordered at 11.22 Sat morning - got a call from HN in Bondi Junction yesterday offering the ZX770 and ZX220. Accepted the offer as it was- didn't haggle… Forgot to ask when the order will be delivered..

  • Email received 30mins ago:
Hi Benderz. Sorry, your order has been delayed. It shouldn't take too long. We'll contact you as soon as it's ready.

    • I ordered at 11.20 still nothing whatsoever

      • I find it strange as it will obviously be cancelled but they still sent me that email. Their after sales support seems quite inconsistent.

        • @benderz: What do you mean by: I find it strange as it will obviously be cancelled but they still sent me that email.
You noted earlier that you received email saying order is delayed (not cancelled).

        • @Borg:
Correct. The first email said delayed. From others, it is obvious nobody is getting their order though so I thought it strange they are saying delayed rather than cancelled.

As of 1626, cancelled has been confirmed via second email.

      • Mine was 10:30 order and nothing yet….

  • I sent an email to my designated pick up store in Melbourne and received a reply back saying they're unable to fulfill the order and a refund is currently being organised. No alternative option was given. I wonder whether that applies to everyone living in Melbourne?

    • +1

yeah same boat as you but I called my designated pick up store. they mentioned that they couldn't do anything until head office finalises the plan but seems like Melbourne's orders are the slowest to be processed.

      • +1

I'm in Melbourne too but I received a call on Monday morning and dropped in to my pick up store and they told me that the Zx770 will be on backorder and will come in mid March. Have already got my hands on the MDRZX220BTB now, so I just have to wait till mid March for the ZX770

        • Just collected my 770. Order completed

    • +1

If you're wanting the alternative bundle and not a simple refund, you should make a call to HN Online Enquiries and get them to play mediator for you with the pick up store. Tell them that you've had friends being offered alternative bundles and you would like the same to be honored for you.

Have a read of some of my comments earlier in this thread.

      I'm also in Melbourne.

      • Thanks for the recommendation. I did call the online enquiry number earlier today but thought I'd speak with the designated store rather than getting them to mediate - which I can say didn't really get me far. will try to call them again tomorrow

  • Not going to contact HN until they contact me. Regional VIC fwiw

  • Just got a shipping confirmation showing the original bundle whereas I haven't heard back from my local HN whether or not I could pick another Sony bundle. Odd.

    • Ended up getting the 770BN with another cheap noise cancelling set: the ZX110NC. The price difference with the 220 was only $5 so Harvey Norman Moore Park was happy to accomodate. The reason I bought the original bundle was because of the NC x2. I already have enough non-NC headphones but these will come in handy on the plane!

      Timelines:
Sat 11am: Ordered (paid for delivery)
Tue noon: Friendly email from HN Moore Park, offering me the MDRZX220BTB instead of the MDR-10RNC
Tue 1pm: Asked (via email) for ZX110NC instead of ZX220BTB
Tue 2pm: "I will look into it further for you, but from what I can see that should not be an issue and we do have that pair in stock, I will just double check that I am authorised to proceed with that replacement for you and let you know ASAP."
Wed 4pm: Shipping confirmation + Tax Invoice for original bundle (got me excited!)
      Thu 10am: Received ZX770 + ZX110NC

So my Tax Invoice doesn't match with what was provided but still a decent deal!

      • How's the ZX110NC and especially its NC? I was thinking the same, might be the better option. Is the NC good enough?

        • Both the 770 and the 110 have pretty average NC reviews on rtings. However, both Amazon and ProductReview shows pretty positive overall NC user experience for the 110. Haven't tried them myself yet but the main difference between the 2 is the over-ear vs on-ear design where I guess the over-ear will be better for NC and more comfortable. I don't care much about the BT bit.

  • I just got an email to say my replacement bundle is ready for pick up in store. I'm in Perth, go figure.normally WA has to wait a very long time.

  • Just got an email offering the MDRZX770BNB and MDRZX220BTB. Meh, was a spontaneous buy and not interested in the second pair.

    • +3

      Where is the OzBargain spirit?
It is not about what I need or what I am interested in, it is about what bargain I can get, even on (or especially on) things I don't need! :-)
Hey selling the 220 and you get the 770 for the best price ever. :D

      • Do we have an OZBARGAIN anonymous?

  • Ordered at 9.57 and no calls and no emails at all until now.

    • it may be a good idea emailing them [email protected] to follow up.

      • Spoke to their live chat and one of the HN store will be contacting me about my order. So weird it was an online delivery order.

  • got a call from HN around 6pm today saying they can offer me a refund (she did not mention about the alternative) so i asked are there any alternate solutions then told she will email the alternative so i can decide, no email received yet as of now.

    • Got an email from HN today, offering me either 220 or 770…"As per our phone conversation we can offer you one of the following:" thats what i got from that email, I did not want to ask about while everybody is getting both why you giving me just 220 or 770.

Replied I want the both. Apparently it seems they are trying to take the advantage from the people who is not aware about whats going on.

      • +1

I was also offered 770 or 220 by the pickup store but I did an online chat with the online team and they offered both 770 and 220. I told the online team what I was offered and they said the pickup store misunderstood the instructions from head office and they called the store manager to explain that I should get both 770 and 220. I took a screenshot of the chat to show the store manager but was not required as both headphones were waiting for me when I got to the store.

        • thank you for the information, i will contact their online customer service if i do not get a satisfactory reply by today.

  • +1

From WA and pickup store (Cannington) offered ZX770 and ZX220 bundle. Picked up both headphones today. Sweet deal.

    • Luckily man! Called both my pick up store and HN online twice now to get told they will call me when they know anything.

      • Patience my friend… :-)
I think we can safely say HN was ozbargained by those orders. And we have just cause flooded their customer service and call centre with those orders.
As much as I normally don't like HN I must give them credit for trying and actually fulfilling orders with replacements.

    • did you select pick up on your original purchase? or did you get the postage refunded when you collected in store?

      • I had a feeling they won't fulfil the order so I selected a store with ZX770 in stock which would allow me to negotiate a ZX770 for the price of the bundle as I am happy to pay $118 for a ZX770 anyway. ZX220 was just a bonus.

  • No call or email so I raised an online enquiry and they offered the ZX770 and ZX220 bundle.

  • Just received an email from HN Auburn that offering ZX770 and ZX220 bundle. But I asked if I can have a Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over-Ear Headphones - iOS, Black instead and they replied Yes immediately. Is Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over-Ear Headphones a good deal for $130?

    • I would say that for the price you paid for the headphones offered are great deals. At least to me they are.

    • I was also offered the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over-Ear iOS as well but I wanted wireless so I can use it with future iPhones.

  • BTW, I received HN Online Order confirmation on Sat 18/02, 11:18 AM, if anyone is interested.

  • Out of stock - replacement SONY ON-EAR WIRELESS HEADPHONES

    • Would you care to elaborate please?
Is it the original bundle out of stock? We all know it. Or is it the replacement out of stock?
I got confirmation email at 10:10am on the 18th (ordered it posted, not pick up) and got email from HN online 3:29pm today offering 770 and 220 as a replacement.

Called the HN online and ordered call back, still waiting for the call.
(Edited - added info about the callback)

  • They wouldn't budge on changing the bundle from 770 plus 220snor can they tell me when the bundle would be available either, other than it won't be available by the time I get on a flight next Thursday …

    • +1

Yeah I only wanted it as the wife left my Bose earphones in Singapore. I need to fly on Tuesday. Just lucky they were able to do the replacement for me yesterday.

      • Would love to hear from you how they sound on the plane compared to your Bose ones!

        • Well sound quality-bose, noise cancellation-bose,fit-bose,price-sony. They are OK for the price but the Bose is better and I'm glad I got the Bose pair as I won't wear these given a choice.

        • @derrick44: Thanks for that, still considering selling the Sony pair then and upgrade to the Bose ones. In terms of regular pricing, sure, Bose is a bit pricier but it's not that the 770's are exactly cheap either (it's just that we all got them at a really good price).

  • Sennheiser momentum 2 over-ear better than ZX770 + ZX220?

    • +2

Generally, yes. But it depends what you want. The ZX220 are pretty average headphones. They retail for around $100 but often go on sale for $40 and have been on sale for $29. They're OK, but not great.

The Momentum 2.0s are better quality than the ZX770 but they don't have Noise Cancelling and they're wired. So if you want bluetooth headphones with noise cancelling then get the bundle. If you don't care about that stuff then get the Momentums.

      • Exactly what I am thinking. I don't care about wireless and NC. Sound quality first. Regarding the future iPhone, I don't use iPhone for music anyway.

  • Are ZX220 really on-ears? Sony website says over-ears…

    • +1

      Sony terminology:
      Sony over-ears (ZX220) = On-ears
      Sony wrap-around ears (ZX770) = Over-ears

      • Thanks, I think you're right. Oh well..

  • Wow- just read through the posts.
What an exceptional deal and follow through by Harvey Norman.
    Just sorry I missed it.

  • So finally got the email offering the different headphones but with this message after… going to be a long wait.

Please be advised that we are currently awaiting stock replenishment for the aforementioned alternative units from Sony with no visible estimated time of arrival at this stage.

  • +1

Just received HN Online notification, my order has been shipped!!!Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over-Ear is on the way!

  • -1

Burned once, burned twice & this is the third time.

All I can say this is a Switch & Bait. HN should just straight up apologising & offering a refund if they do not have stock. Instead they are trying to keep your money & offer you a more inferior product & with anything else that is equal value or even less, to cut their losses of course. Professional seller.

After I got a confirmation email with alternative ZX770 + ZX220 offering, I suggested the email guy an alternative if I can just get Bose QC25 by itself only as it is the closest specs to MDR-10RNC & its actually lower "RRP" value than the sony bundle. The reply was that Bose headphone is not in their computer department, it is in electrical dept. Oh wait what hello cheeky bugger, I ordered this thru their site how would I know that? So I did escalate this thru their webchat & the support guy issued a ticket.

I don't expect much. More likely I will just get a refund. But I ordered a "just-happen-to-be-cheap-once-in-a-life-time-what-a-bargain" NC sony headphone set that fit to my specific needs and I don't want mucking around with other crap offers. I just want a working NC headphone so I can use it when travelling. Feels cheated.

    • Not sure I understand your comment: HN should just straight up apologising & offering a refund if they do not have stock. Instead they are trying to keep your money & offer you a more inferior product & with anything else that is equal value or even less, to cut their losses of course

The email I received had an apology in it and offered two options.
      - A full Refund
      OR
      - Optional Package (which included the main Sony ZX770 same as original offer and an alternate for the MDR-10RNC (as they are no longer made).

Seems like a very generous offer to me and all for $118.40. They could have just apologised and given a full refund but chose to offer an alternate which is great. If you are unhappy, just take the refund. Perhaps I am misunderstanding your comment?
