TV Wall Mounting Bracket with Dual Arms, Suit 42" TV with VESA 100/150/200 - ONLY $6 [Kmart Clearance]

810

These Audiosonic TV brackets are reduced to clear at only $6 each. Dual arm means the TV can sit flat against the wall, or you can pull the TV out & aim it left/right. Rated 35kg and I reckon will be OK with a 42" or even larger TV. Reasonable quality, especially for just $6 - much more details below…

I hate is having TVs sitting on furniture, and I hate the dust and mess that accumulates under them. It's so much better to get the TV up on the wall so you can use the space below. A bracket with articulated arms also gives you the option of mounting the TV off centre then angling into view.

Check out the 5 detailed photos in this Imgur Album HERE - you can click to zoom in and suss out the awesome quality chinese construction.

EAN / Barcode is 9 341103 71027 and docket calls it "SWING TV MOUNT BLK"

Clearance item, cannot find on Kmart website. I have receipt, but quality of printing is so bad it doesn't really show up clearly. Trust me, it was $6. No idea of original price JV, maybe $15-20 or so.

Rated 35kg and 32" TV, but I checked a 46" 1050mm wide Samsung and that would also be OK (if you can find one with VESA square mount). Our new 43" Soniq (from the $299 JB hifi deal) is under 10kg and will fit on this perfectly.

Finish is a kind of textured black paint. Looks pretty nasty, but functional.

TV plate is 245mm x 245mm with these VESA mounting holes:
* 100 x 100, 150 x 150, 100 x 200, 200 x 200.
* No additional extension arms, so only suits those mounting centres.

Wall plate is 200 high x 100mm wide, with 6 screws (supplied)

  • Double arm is 215mm long, short arm 160mm long
  • Overall it's about 450mm straightened out
  • I have uploaded photos to Imgur (link above)
  • With TV not tilted, you can get an impressive angle about 40° even with the 46".

I wouldn't say that the arm bushes are very resilient, so it's gunna get a bit loose and floppy if continually moved about with a TV hanging off it. However it's supplied with allen key to tighten it up again (you need a spanner as well, not supplied).

I compared this to the small Aldi wall bracket which is about the same size, and the tubing, etc is similar. The Aldi has 2 advantages, so keep these limitations of the Audisonic in mind:
a) No additional extension arms, so ONLY suits VESA mounts I mentioned
b) No "hook-on" mount for the TV. So you must hold the TV up while you fit the 4 screws in the rear. The Aldi allows you to mount the TV plate separately, then hook that onto the arm assembly, which is a lot easier.

EDIT: No, I have absolutely no idea if this fits your TV or Monitor. I'm not coming around to check for you - simply get off your butt, and look at YOUR screen for yourself.

Anyway, not my first post and you don't need to be gentle.

Cheers!

Many older TVs have a wider spaced mounting holes than the 200mm square that this mount uses. The new ones are really light weight and often use a VESA mount (like a computer monitor).

Since you are the only one who is close enough to check, you just need to look at the back of your TV and then you will know if this bracket is suitable.

Nice write up. Will have a look at the local tomorrow and see if there's any in stock

  • Hey guys, I rent in an apartment and Really wants to mount my tv. Just wondering anyone has experience with punching holes on a renting home Brick wall?

    • +1

If the thought crossed my mind I would quickly dismiss it.
Wouldn't hurt to ask your landlord but I would expect a big fat 'No' so have the tissues handy.

Nobody here has experience with YOUR landlord. There are some things in life that you simply have to do for yourself. Personally, I wouldn't be drilling holes in walls as you will have to patch AND repaint the whole room when you leave.

What I am doing for a friend's rented home is some lateral thinking. I am placing some furniture below where the TV will go. My idea is a cabinet or bookcase say 1m wide, 400mm deep and 600-700mm high.

Onto the rear of the bookcase I intend to screw a piece of melamine faced chipboard. This will be about 1.2m tall. The TV wall bracket will mount onto the rear board, which will lift the TV up and allow it to be aimed. I may use a narrower "stem" instead, and hide cables behind it.

      • Thanks guys, really appreciated your suggestions. I actually thought about the one explained by Ilama, but it would cost me a little bit more. What I found at my place is there are few existing holes here and there and wanna make few additional holes to align the mount. On the other hand, found on other mount in Bunnings which just got two holes (pretty expensive though $72).

Ask your landlord and say when you move out you will fix up after. If the wall is white and you put foam between the wall and the bracket, all you will need to do is fill in the holes with some filler. You will hardly be able to see the bracket was there.

Why do you need to ask anybody that?

EVERYTHING that you need to know is in my excessively long OP.

I've uploaded 5 detailed photos to an imgur album.

Do you want one of use to come to your house and look at the monitor that you own?

  • Stock may be a bit patchy as it went to clearance sometime ago. I'd try some quite stores who are probably still sitting on stock or call customer care tomorrow from 7am.

OP can you please take a photo of the barcode or reply below, it will make it easier to find in stores as its clearance.

  • Just bought two at Kmart Knox; still have 2 remaining as of 30 minutes ago. They look solid can't wait to install them :)

  • 3 left at Top Ryde. They're near the printing section, shelf underneath the TV antennas. Tag says $20, but scans as $6.

  • That 100mm widthis a bugger. Is too wide for a single timber behind gyprock and too narrow to use 2 timber construction . That would rip the gyprockdown if attached

The Aldi Bauhn bracket that I compared to has a single line of 3 mounting screws, rather than 2 columns of 3. That made it better for thin single studs. However also means twice as much force per bolt position.

When I rebuilt our walls I added an offcut of 150mm or 200mm wide hardwood window lintel/beam behind the gyprock at every position where were likely to bolt a TV. You could hang a car off those positions LOL.

For a wider Aldi "rail style" bracket the instructions suggest that where you cannot span 2 studs, to mount the centre of rail to the stud, and then the other 4 corners using plaster anchors. The idea of that is that the stud takes the weight, and the plaster only needs to deal with twisting forces.

In the case of this small bracket, I'd reckon you'd get away with 3 bolts on one side into the stud, and the other 3 into plaster anchors or toggle bolts for the other side. In fact, I reckon you'd get away with nothing into the plaster LOL. Consider the torque and twisting moments involved here - the weight is primarily vertical up-down and there is no resistance to left-right movement, so moving the TV isn't going to rip the bracket off.

Therefore it's just the diagonal forces - say the TV was angled max 40°, the force applied to the bracket is primarily a twisting of the plate in respect to the wall surface, rather than primarily trying to tear it off the wall. Incredibly hard to explain in words, and I am not gunna make ASCII diagrams LOL.

Anyway, if the TV was likely to be always angled to the left, you would bolt the right-side of the bracket into the stud. That would mean that the top right bolt that had the most "pulling effort" would be retained to the wall, and the weakly retained bottom left corner is being "pushed into" the wall (it won't go anywhere).

  • Great work on this Llama. Picked mine up today from Kmart Chadstone and they have 6 more left (at time of posting). None in Kmart Frankston, Hastings, Carrum or Richmond. Six buck cant go wrong, similar one in Bunnings for $41.
