DXRacer F Series Black Red Gaming Chair $349 at MSY

41

I was looking for a gaming chair and came across the highly recommended DX Racer chair. Granted it's not a huge discount, but probably the biggest i could find, with approximately $50 off the RRP.

Unfortunately the material is PU leather. It will degrade over time and you'll find you be cleaning up little flakes of PU which have fallen off. For $349 not worth it IMHO.

Cool, any suggestions at this price point then? Also, forgot to mention, lifetime warranty.

Lifeframe warranty on the frame, not the materials. No good having a rock solid frame if the exterior PU materials is falling to bits.

Everything else about the chair is great, just shame about the PU. Mind you, if it was genuine leather, you'd be looking at just shy of a $1,000 for a similarly specc'ed chair.

i have one of these DXRacer chairs had it for over 2 years. I haven't seen this flaking problem robbo mentions, but the leathery cushioning on one of the arm-rests have torn and now scratches against my arm.

Also the seat is not cushiony enough, everytime I sit I can feel the hard 'protrusion' of the metal underneath my butt. would not recommend. and if u do buy, get one with a higher weight rating, 100kg is the lowest end

I have been contemplating getting this chair for a while but looks like I won't get it. Thanks for the mini review/feedback :)

    • Because of this, i spent around this amount (total) on building my own office chair with a replica Recaro. Its not a genuine recaro bucket seat, but it still uses alcantara. Some of the DX Racer seats (cheaper ones) use canvas instead of PU leather, but I personally dont like the idea of paying upwards of $300 for a PU leather seat.

Building the frame to attach the rail to the base of the chair costed me under $50, time and effort at your own expense, a good condition replica second hand costed me about $200, but you'll find others around that price range (e.g. replica Bride LowMax, Sparcos, etc).

The foam in these replica seats would be chalk and cheese compared to DX Racer. My replica Recaro foam is much denser than any office chair i have sat on, and it is spring supported at the bottom.

If you are interested to chat about how I did it, just PM me.

  • they grey one doesnt appear to be discounted

Get them straight from DXRacer. Even cheaper @ $339 with free delivery.

    E.g. http://www.dxracer.com/au/en-au/product/1/gaming_chair/formu…

This is the "Woven" mesh version not the PE-leather type.

    Sorry. No deal.

    • +2

So you're comparing the prices of the leather/pu version to the mesh version? Shouldn't you use apples to apples for fairness?

    • That's like saying "buy apples theyre even cheaper here at Coles" even though the deal was for oranges…

Check the product NOT the price first

      • It's the same damn chair! The PU ones are this price too you pendants. People above are complaining that the ops post were PU leather and will peel. This mesh version will not peel. Apples.

  • looks the same to this one my son just got off ebay paid $158 , am sure there are probably differences but he's happy with it
