I need to buy a budget selfie phone as a gift…any choices out there in the China phone market?
All it has to have is a better than standard front facing camera.
Was looking at Asus Zenfone selfie but its over $200, I was after somthing under $150.
I somehow think the OP would have thought of that already. The ability to make calls etc is probably not optional.
Well you would want to be able to preview your selfie, and most compact cameras don't have front facing screens. And what do you do if you want to have a video call?
I didn't even realise a selfie phone was a real category. Following the logic further, it also should have calling facilities with a good microphone but perhaps earphone quality can be minimal. :)
I think (bit out of touch once I moved to mirrorless) there are compact cameras with screens that can flip to face the front.
I've got a prosumer camera that does that but there's still the issue of making video calls. After all if OP had wanted a selfie camera he wouldn't have written selfie phone.
the idea is to then post on snapchat, instagram etc. too hard a job with a camera.
wife got a sony C4, it says its a selphie phone and takes great pics even at night, camera is autofocus which most front cameras are not and even has a front flash. its an older model and was only $299 a year ago so maybe cheap now. https://www.sonymobile.com/au/products/phones/xperia-c4/

Yeah needs to be phone due to needing skype, video chat etc.
Will check out the Sony but going to try the likes of Gearbest for chinease phones, there must be one out there with a 13mp front facing camera?
