Does anyone know if you could use this for a herb garden at home?

    • +1

You sure could. The pots are the perfect size to grow herbs in and you can actually remove each individual pot for maintenance easily.

      • Is there any one to space the pots further apart. Herbs usually grow quickly and tall. Id want more gaps between the pots

        • The kit is made up of 6 x 3 pot panels. You could mount each 3 pot kit individually.

        • @waterprocomau: Great to know ! thank you

What's the normal price? Where's the bargain? Similar thing $60 at bunnings.

  • +1

Does this come with a hose connection for irrigation?

    • -1

I doesnt come with any irrigation at all.

  • Waiting for the bargain?

    • Is $179 not cheap enough?

      • +1

        18 pots …. $180 …. that's $10 for a plastic plant pot.

Bunnings do a plastic plant pot for less than $1.

So an OzBargainer would line up plant pots on a ledge and spend the $162 on Eneloop batteries

        • I'm struggling to understand what is considered a bargain then. Is this site not suitable for quality products being sold at ridiculously low prices in your opinion?

        • +1

          @waterprocomau:

Well, personally I think the 'wall planter' arena is full of ridiculously high prices. So cutting those a bit isn't going to impress me.

Actually if I wanted to do a wall planter, I'd probably DIY it WITH an irrigation system (which is the hard work bit). Lots of plans out there.

Still, you might get some bites from the intended market, just not sure how many of them will be around here.

@sane: Thanks for you input mate. This is our first time here so a learning curve for us.

        • -1

OK but the Ozbargainer hasn't got a wall of plants then have they.

        • Stupid feedback. Do you neg deals on iPhones because there's a Chinese knock-off that "looks roughly the same" for $99? Do you neg deals on Pizza Hut because it's cheaper to make your own? It's a deal because the price is lower than elsewhere. That's all that matters.

    • There you go mate. Dropped it to $159.00. You wont find a better deal than that!

      • +2

Sorry, I shouldn't approach first timers in a condescending way. The problem with this deal originally is that OzBargain is for users to find prices on things that are lower than anywhere else you'd find them. To simply come in here and say "our stuff is great value!" does not constitute a deal, and hence my comment. Stating what the RRP is and then advertising something lower, as you have done is on the right path.

After doing a few google searches, this price is indeed a lot lower than the competition.

        • Thank mate. Appreciate you saying that. Quite simply we bought 5 pallets and got a good deal, I wanted to get them moving asap. This is the market leader in the green wall range and I'm fast learning that this may not be the best platform for quality.

        • @waterprocomau:
Do you have a store front or is it online only?

        • @andy19363: We do. 20 King William Street Kent Town SA 5067

          Thanks….

    Show us the bargain son!

    • Is $179 not cheap enough?

    • There you go mate. Dropped it to $159.00. You wont find a better deal than that!

  • I think this is your problem

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/holman-pixel-pot-vertical-planti…

and that's the first one I found with a similar number of pots

    • +1

To be fair, that one is only 230mm high. OP's is four times that at 1230mm. So I presume there's a big difference in pot size

      • There is. The Atlantis product is commercial quantity. Used in pubs and public places a lot.

        • +2

Yeah I just watched the video and they seem pretty tough. I'll pass on this because I don't need it, but if I did, I think this would represent a good bargain.

  • +3

I think we need to compare apples to apples here people. There may be other wall planters around for lower prices (which may represent better value for us here on Ozbargain) but this is a particular product and the OP has even dropped their price to $159

What we need to (and what I'm thinking about) is if this product is whats best for our needs.

  • website seems very vague on how exactly it attaches to the wall/fence and whats required
can i tack it onto one side of a colorbond fence without upsetting neighbours? or is it primarily geared at being attached to brickwork?

    • +1

It would would probably be too heavy to mount on a fence. When full they get near 100kg. So brick wall or solid frame.

This post got me really interested in starting a vertical garden but I wanted to check with the mrs and do some research before going ahead.

Have now cone back to find the deal had expired doh :(, hopefully there will be another sale on again soon!
