I use an hour-glass timer issued by the water company. It's just as good and you can get it for FREE from their stand at some shopping centres.

My sands of time froze, I only wish you could do that in real life. Must be the moisture.

    • I had one of those and it broken pretty quickly. I also had an MTV radio shower timer but it must of got moisture inside and doesnt work anymore as well.

I like the feature that calcuates on litres per min not just time.

      • If you have a water saving shower head at the moment then the packet would have been labelled telling you how much water it will use.
I think 9L per minute is normal

        • I got my shower head replaced under the climate smart home and didnt get to see the package that had the flow rating on it.

I got it to help reduce the shower use, and its good to know how much water was used as well.

  • I just got one - Seems like a pretty sweet deal to me.
    Thanks!

  • I don't get it. It says

The Efergy Showertime water saving monitor and timer comes with an eco-container which is used to measure the flow rate of the shower or bath. Once the container is full the monitor is set.

So exactly how does it measure how much water is being used?

    • I think you just manually time how long the container takes to fill - then you probably just punch that time/rate into the unit.

      • Yeah I wasn't sure how you calibrate it. Read elsewhere

        How to use:
Set the time. Decide how much water you would like to use. An average shower uses between 30-50 litres depending on the type of shower and how long you shower for (A bath uses about 80 litres of water).
Calibrate the Shower Timer by inserting your showerhead into the calibration bag and using the monitor to time the water flow until the bag is full. After you begin using Shower Timer you can adjust the timer to suit your water-saving goals.

  • why can;t we use the 10$ coupon that topbuy gave out sometime ago for this item? :(

Because they are not valid with daily deals.
It explains this right above the coupon box
