$0.25 for a bottle of Mt Franklin water that shops sell for $3 or more?

    • +1

been to the footy lately? Pushing $4.50 - $5

    • +1

Huge markup on water. You're basically paying them $2.75 to put it in a fridge.

  • +5

Fantastic effort, thank you! Great price for Cocobella

    • +1

      Agreed!

  • +1

Can't believe the lebara pack is $10 . I just bought one for 14.90 online at lebaras website 😩

  • +2

Vodafone Prepaid Smart Mini 7 3G

Was actually free 15 months back at woolworths 😆

    • Must have missed that - just got the free Vodafone Smart First 3G last February @Woolies.

        Yupe around that time. .

  • Cocobella is actually $2 per litre in the Spud Shed until tomorrow.

  • +3

    Thanks!
I really appreciate the "last time this price", great to know when stocking up an urgent or meh item.

  • +1

Def going to pick up some MF water. Paid $2.35 for one the other day and that was at Coles too! Rip off!!!

I'm impressed with your list of how long it was since the items were on special. How did you get the info, have you been counting the weeks? For example waiting 18 weeks for Coconut Water to be at that price! Wow!

Also the gift cards I looked at the catalogue, it shows a pic of the $30 cards but in the description I couldn't find it saying "Only $30 cards". It just says "any" of the following cards, then lists Netflix, Cotton On, etc.

    • +3

Yep I just sit here week by week counting the time for every single product in a spreadsheet ;) Nah, Price Hipster is an insanely good tool which easily lets me check the pricing for the last 60 odd weeks so I just subtract the dates on that website from now and divide by 7 to find the weeks between specials.

As for the gift cards, it's outlined in this post . Seems to be spend $30 on Netflix/Cotton On and/or $50 on Best Restaurants/Spas to get the 2000 points.

      • +2

Price Hipster is an insanely good tool

Wow, I'm totally gonna use this statement in marketing. 😂

Thanks heaps for the kind words.

        • +2

Haha I'll vouch for that statement. Thanks again for creating the tool, it's helped me out a lot finding and verfiying bargains without intense research.

      • I was in store today and read the sign above the Gift Cards before I bought. It said ANY Netflix, Cotton On or Best Restaurants/Spas Gift Card will earn you 2,000 points. I bought a $20 Netflix card. I will comment back when I get the 2,000 fly buys in my account.

"2000 BONUS flybuys points when you purchase any Cotton On, Netflix, Best Restaurants or Best Spas Gift Cards and swipe your flybuys card at checkout. Offer valid from 01/03/17 to 07/03/17."

I can't see where it says it has to be $30 for Netflix/Cotton on and $50 on Best Restaurants/Spas??

    • +2

How is paying the same price for substantially less of something a good deal?

      Mount Franklin - 20 x 500ml bottles = 10L @ $5 = 25c/bottle (on special)

      vs

      Coles brand - 24 x 600ml bottles = 14.4L @ $6 = 25c/bottle (every day price)

      • +2

It's a good deal on Mt. Franklin but in comparison with other bottled water prices it probably isn't as you have pointed out. I was referring to the deal on Mt. Franklin itself though.

        • +1

Fair point, I was just curious as I can't taste the difference between the two!

        • +2

          @Sir Casm:

I know what you mean man, I just buy coles brand and I can't taste the difference either! The coca-cola branded waters are heavily inflated pricing, especially when sold individually, brands talk..

        • @Sir Casm:
big taste difference for me, always has been…

Most of the cheaper brands are bore water or filtered tap

No idea why people like Evian, tastes weird to me, some people say metalic.

New Zealand's Antipode water is amazing

        • @Baghern: MF tastes real horrible now dont get baited…..

      • It's all about drinking out of the "named" bottle as opposed to the "no name" branded bottle. Nothing about the contents or the size of the bottle.

        • +2

I can't taste the diff btw Melb tap water and these bottled water, probably 250L/$0.25.

        • if you read the fine print, then google, the wording they use, they cheaper brands are often bore water or filtered water.

      • +2

Guys I swear, There is something wrong with Mount Franklin bottle water, I am one of the people that can taste the difference between waters (unless chilled) and I've been having MF bottles for almost half a year cause my dad kept buying them. BUT from last month, dad bought another 2 packs and the water flavour completely changed!!! To HORRIBLE taste and with a really bad after taste, on similar level to tap water! I swear something went wrong with their filter or something, cause filtered water shouldnt taste like this, I find COLES water or Woolies water to even taste better than MF now. Please let me know if any1 of you feel the same.
PS * Boiled water always taste the best *

        • Plastic bottled water (all drinks really) can change taste if left in the sun when transported or warehoused. Perhaps the batch you are drinking copped this treatment.

        • Your right, I also tasted it. Completely different. Maybe thats why its on sale?

        • +1

          @tee123:
Wow, I guess they didnt follow the instructions on storing the bottles themselves??? not buying mf again.

        • @graysama: im not sure its storage/handling being the problem as it doesnt taste like water thats been left in a car. It tastes like bad tap water.

        • @tee123: Yeah, finally someone who can vouch for me !

  • +4

Tap water is almost free and just as good as bottled. No landfill, too.

    Great formatting. Just about perfect.

Coles RSPCA Approved Whole Chicken were $2.99/3.49 per kg a few years back……

    • +1

After I buy a bottle of MF, I drink the contents but then fill it up with tap water until the bottle gets crushed or after s while when it gets grotty.

      • Goog work. Unfortunately this deal is for 20 bottles. :(

        • It will last a long time then! Probably when it goes on special again I'll be ready for it (in several weeks!)

        • @sagitox:

          Great. More landfill!

        • @tightwad: they're recyclable bottles, no??

        • @sagitox:

But lots of energy spent making, transporting, recycling, etc. No guarantee that all bottles will be recycled. Totally unnecessary when we have perfectly good tap water and reusable bottles.

Leading environmentalists hate them - say no more.

  • Nice effort producing this dashboard.

  • +1

When you're going on a diet and you see your favourite snacks half price 😫😫😫

  • +1

What is tempter? Just a name for 95g?

    • +1

Yep just a catchy name for the 95g size, their "normal" sizing is 185g - 425g

  • +2

Thanks OP. I just love Tyrrell's chips.

    • +1

Same! But hard to find the Honey Soy Chicken flavour these days. I only liked those and the Sweet Chili ones.

  • +1

    Nice effort.

  • Think waters expensive maybe if you heard of cape Grim you'll think of water entirely different.

  • +1

Wow I was seriously down to my last crate of cocobella from the last half price sale (it has been 18 weeks already? Lol.)
I wondered if they'd ever be half price again - seen them $3 but hardly ever $2.50.
    Thanks op!

  • I have an all-bands xiaomi and find the Lebara (voda) reception quite good on the Sunshine Coast here. Any idea if the Lebara packs will have an "activation expiry" like the last online deal, also is porting out from Lebara to another carrier OK these days?

    • To partly answer my own question, I just read that Vodafone now owns the Lebara brand (as of end of last year)… so porting in and out shouldn't be an issue at all. I wonder whether therefore a standalone starter pack is "no expiry" (as for Vodafone in the past)….anyone have a recent one or can say?

  • Are these deals active now?

    • +1

      Tomorrow morning.

  • Pretty sure powerade goes cheaper than that at half price?

    • Yep, you're correct. I just thought it'd be worth putting in as it's a good price.

  • +1

I'm going to hoard the cocobella … thanks OP!

  • Got 4 packets of bhuja to try, so far original was ok but dissappointing the fried noodles were like 2.5 inches long and difficult to eat and poked my gums, i guess i should add my own chilli flakes for even a hint of spicey. Will try the Hot next but i dont hold high hopes for indian-level spice

  • Is the Dettol Healthy Clean Bathroom Mould Remover any good? Been using shower power and it works great but they are never half price

  • My diet is safe no choc sticks left on shelf 😞
