DO NOT EAT AT WAGAMAMA! They make unhealthy, expensive, terrible value food - & remember, they say they make Japanese food & serve green tea, but its not Japanese & the tea is orange…

    I warned you!

Your opinion - how is this a neg for the deal? A simple search reveals these deals have been popular in the past.

I used to read all the negative comments on Ozbargain about Wagamama, I couldn't believe the food could possibly be so bad and such poor value. I eventually used one of these 2 for 1 vouchers, and let me say the Ozbargain reviews were spot on.

Some of the most bland starchy asian food I've ever had. Truly terrible…….worse than food court quality, at restaurant prices. It really must be tasted to be believed.

That all said, this is a worthy post, it at least means ozbargain members who try Wagamamma food for the the first (and last) time won't have paid full price.

many people at ozbragin hate wagamama, I think they should start their wagamama hate club.

The point is there are some people that eat there and this is a bargain for them.

if you hate wagamama, start a hate club and stop targeting your anger on any wagamama post.

    • We are not Wagamama haters, but we are food lovers. And I found it really disappointing (and a bit degrading, honestly) for Wagamama to promote itself as an "award-winning asian inspired noodle restaurant".

I really hope those who are interested in trying asian inspired noodle doesn't get discouraged and keep trying other places, as taste-wise Wagamama is probably in the bottom 3 of asian inspired noodle restaurant (in Sydney), although quality-wise I'd say it's quite decent.

  • wagamama always have "2 for 1 on main meals" promotion.

Anyway, I am not interested. (Totally agree with insinc)

  • Couldn't agree more: "worse than food court quality, at restaurant prices".

As a lover of Japanese food and a Ramen afficionado who spent 4 months living in Japan - if anyone starts the wagamama hate club please invite me. It's bland rubbish British food.

    :)

Are we supposed to vote on the deal, or the subject of the deal?
For example, if I hate asian food, can I neg the deal even though it's actually not a bad one $$-wise?

We are supposed to vote on the deal, not the subject of the deal.

Thing is, each person attach some 'intrinsic' value to the deal / bargain itself. Thus, the definition of bargain (from Oxford dictionary):

"a thing bought or offered for sale much more cheaply than is usual or expected"

At 2 for 1, it is indeed much more cheaply than usual. But, for many people, their usual price is way beyond expectation that even at 2 for 1 it is still not good enough value. That is, for them, even at 2 for 1 price, it is still quite expensive and not worth it.

Thus no bargain…Thus the negative vote.

      • Although I don't think this is good bargain. But Ozbargain people now just vote by subject or preference and not the deal. We need another website for people to vote or comment each individual company instead.

  • over rated

  • Fair enough - thought some may consider this a bargain. I guess I underestimated the might and power of the Wagamama hate club.

I have never eaten there by the way!

    • Then can I suggest you to try it for yourself and make your own conclusion afterwards?
Maybe you will get a better understanding as to why there are so many people in the "Wagamama hate club". Who knows, maybe you will be one of them? :)

As for me, I don't really hate Wagamama, but I don't like it either. Tried it once (with a 2 for 1 deal) and it's more than enough for me. Even at 50% price it is still not good value enough to justify return visit as many other asian inspired noodle place in Sydney offers much better value for money (whatever it is that you are looking for, i.e.: taste, ambience, quality, menu choice, etc.).

You can just leave comments without voting negative people - you are leaving negs for completely subjective reasons that I'm pretty sure fall outside the guidelines. If you want to warn people that the food isn't good (in your opinion) then leave a comment, not a negative vote.

" They make unhealthy, expensive, terrible value food - & remember, they say they make Japanese food & serve green tea, but its not Japanese & the tea is orange…"

Completely subjective and from my quick check not entirely accurate - from what I could see it is "Asian inspired" food. This does not imply traditional Japanese food.

"wagamama always have “2 for 1 on main meals” promotion.

Anyway, I am not interested. (Totally agree with insinc)"

This does not deserve a negative because you aren't interested, nor because they often have these promotions. Do you vote negative everytime dominos or pizza hut offer a discount? They do so more often than Wagamama

    "over rated"

Elaborate or don't vote negative. Please read the guidelines.

I'm not trying to be a bastard (well, a little) but just think about what the negative vote is meant to be used for and really think about whether something deserves a negative vote before doing so. Usually a comment is more appropriate.

For my two cents I've eaten at Wagamama a couple of times with these buy one get one free vouchers and I think it's OK with one of those (fairly bland but the ingredients are good quality). The decor is also quite nice (if you like modern). Just don't think of it as Japanese food, but rather British/Asian fusion food.

  • I've never been to Wagamama, and to be honest, looking at some of your posts, I don't think I'll bother!

Thanks for the heads up guys!

  • Won't neg it for the reasons above, but will say that Wagamama is rubbish.

Went there a while ago having high expectations but the only thing that was high was the price. Food was poor quality and extremely small, I've had better at Myer Foodcourt!

Would not go back there even for this 2 - 1 voucher.

  • Wagamama?
    Rather just grab some Ramenmama!
