  Sigh. No way I could ever get my wife to fly a low cost carrier for such a long flight. I envy anyone who can get their significant other on board. What a deal!

    It will not be a direct flight and it's easy enough to arrange a stop for a few days in KL by booking each leg individually.

    AirAsia have just cancelled their route to Mauritius after running it for year. I'm in the middle of the painful and tedious process of getting a refund for a trip I had booked for May.

      I got a refund fairly quickly by raising a Paypal dispute.
      The KL-Mauritius route has been cancelled after being run for only 6 months! Hence my warning. Don't know why the neg though since this is NOT the first time a route has been cancelled by AA fairly quickly with no alternative!

        I booked in early August, so that makes it about 8 months.
        I paid via Credit Card and Direct Deposit, so no easy PayPal refund.
        I didn't neg this deal, just posted info as above.

        Have they cancelled all flights from Australia to Mauritius effective March 2017?

        Lucky, I almost booked my honeymoon flights through them for October this year.

  Didn't this route get dropped by AA ? I remember reading on OB comments about how p**sd some people were with a previous deal.

        Might have been me! My gripe is under Aust law, there is no obligation for airlines to help with alternative flights. So Airasia don't for Australians, but do for EU and Americians, et others.

        Airasia would not even change my flight (2nd leg, KL to SYD) by 1 day so that I could arrange KL-Mauritius-KL with another airline!(So then they would not have to refund me much, and I would get to use my pre-paid accommodation)….dealing with Airasia is not dealing with normal logical people.

        And many insurance policies, INCLUDING AIRASIA'S, don't cover loss of accommodation when the airline suspends a route.

        So my rant ends.

        But be warned……….. you are not buying a confirmed ticket!
