LG OLED55B6T 55" UHD + HDR OLED TV $2700 Delivered from Myer

230

Myer's on sale - Not sure when they sale ends.

This is arguably the best 55" inch screen you can buy right now (There's also a 65" model). I've been keeping an eye on these and they've been $2900 - $3000 most of this year with occasional dips $100 lower.

Free delivery for orders over $100.

There's been some retail activity of late to try to run-down stocks of these screens ahead of the new models and Sony's entry into the OLED market, probably around April. In other words: If there is stock left in April, it'll probably get still cheaper than this.

Incredible TV and getting the input lag firmware with hdr game mode (28ms hdr 4k game mode) at the end of march according to LG au which I spoke to yesterday.

Warning though…once you go Oled there's no going back :)

    • As a current owner of one of these bad boys, I've been keenly waiting for this HDR game mode input lag patch to hit our region - thanks for confirming that it is indeed coming later this month! Hate to quote a tool like Davie Warner but I really do love my OLED :D

  • I've been waiting for this to happen. Can't wait to see what all the raving review are all about.

Best tv you can buy - sometimes it's worth treating yourself

    • How are those washed out blacks on your LED?

    65" $4899: https://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/tvs/lg-424702630--1

I'm keen… but only about $3k keen :) Might wait a little longer.

    • I have that one - it's flapping awesome. Got it for $4800 a couple of months ago
Not many around now as its end of life - might wait yourself out of the market

Yeah, not really ready to jump at the moment anyway. My BAUHN 65" was really just a frivolous purchase at the time as a band-aid solution during a house move and I wasn't expecting it to last long. It's now been nearly 18 months and it's been an excellent TV but of course not a patch on an OLED. I'm OK to keep it for a while longer. Size, quality & features will always increase and prices will always fall with time so there's no rush IMO. Just good to see prices moving at last.

Looks like there's "insufficient stock" already. Phew, saved some money.

  • Do these OLEDs still suffer from the screen burn issues?

Next TV definitely going to be OLED… but like others have said, I'm going to wait till the price comes down just a tad more.
No way the Minister for War & Finance would approve a purchase at these prices. I'd be deported from the bedroom!

  • Personally I'm awaiting the Sony A1E OLED to see how motion is with fast moving content and sports compared to the LG 6 series which I'm not a fan would of in regards to motion handling.

Even though I expect the Sony to be much more expensive at $5999 for the 55".

The new LG 7 Series seems to have a few improvements in low level black detail but motion is still the same apparently.
