Convenience. And Dr Oetker tastes good anyway.

      • I agree. Also for frozen pizza (to a degree) this brand a a cut (slice?) above the rest IMO.

Also costs about the same to make your own pizzas with lots of toppings of your choosing. I like thin and crispy so I buy cheap Lebanese bread, pizza cheese, salami and slap some veges on top and stick it in the oven for 10mins. Done in less time than it takes a pizza delivery. You can take it one step further in the cheapness and buy tinned tomatoes to make your own $1 tomato paste/sauce for the base and use the leftovers for pasta the next day :D

You've never been hungover on your couch wanting a cheap, quick pizza? A single pizza delivered from Dominos is still going to be around $15.

    • +11

I honestly prefer Doc Oetk over Dominos. It's that good!

    • +1

Not everyone has access to 24hr domino?

Time to buy a box freezer and stock up, it's been too long between 1/2 price deals!

    • -1

it is literally half price every fortnight at either IGA/Woolies/Coles lol

    • yeh its been ages and i have been hangin

  • +13

Good deal!!! Thanks OP. Time to empty out the deep freeze to stock up.

I love how the box has someone picking up a slice with a fork. And a glass of wine in the corner.

I eat my frozen pizza with a sledge hammer and a glass of goats blood.

Each to their own i guess.

Oh well, there goes my diet.

  • Is it just me or are the "Specials" from Woolies are getting more and more expensive?

I remember the good old days where half price really meant half price. And Dr Oetkers pizza was always around 2.50-2.75AUD on special prize at Wollies. Also is seems like the specials are getting less for frozen pizza.

Bakehouse Crust for 6AUD on "Special"? Gotta be kidding me Wollies…

Damn it. I bought some at full price today

    • +4

Only option now is to buy some more to even out the price :p

  • Are these better than pizzahut/dominies?

    • +4

Everyone has a different taste mate.

    • +1

For some. I find them plain cardboardy and severely lacking toppings, which explains the low price tag (no, I wasn't eating the box…)

    • -1

      Not even close.

There's only one type of person, those who like these pizzas. Anyone who doesn't, isn't a person…they're a monster.

You can neg me all you want these are nasty. I got baited into buying 3 different flavors last time. Terrible Terrible stuff. Tastes like the base is made out of Salada. Pizza sauce s full of sugar and toppings are scarce and not evenly spread.

    • -3

They are awful, I gave two a go from a previous half price "deal". If you threw the pizza out, microwaved the box and then added a little sauce and cheese to the cooked box it'd taste as good. Probably more nutritional too.

  • When I was in Europe last year, the normal non-sale price of these was equivalent to about $3AUD. Paying the Australia tax as usual.

    • Reminds me of being in the US and walking around supermarkets where a slab of 30 cans of Coca-Cola was around AUD$7.00 normal price.

And Coca-Cola get their water for free here in Australia, as an agreement with local government to keep the employment and economy happy.

      • Bring on imported coke!

Some serious jail time for that.
