Great! I need a new bike

I know you're joking but if I ever find out which of my childhood mates stole my mongoose I'd disappear the bastard… What can I say I'm Irish - I know how to hold a grudge.

How is a 10% discount considered a bargain? Come back when its half price…

    • +5

      Not going to happen.

These are specialised tools that you hardly ever see discounted unlike drill combos etc.

You don't even get a Bunnings Trade discount (PowerPass) with this - I know, I looked at buying one last year but went with the DeWalt for $179 in the end as I had both battery packs as an option and preferred the 125mm capacity of the DeWalt.

For $99 this is a decent offer if you have a need.

BTW, it's closer to a 15% discount in reality and I don't see any problem in posting it.

For those who do look to purchase just beware that this kind of thing kills batteries if working hard so make sure you use a 4Ah or above if you want more than a minute of hard work from it.

      • Same with the circular saw, absolutely chews through battery power

Hopefully this grinder is half decent, the saw just doesn't have enough power. I use it for small jobs, but prefer the corded one for bigger work

And you'll need at least two batteries to (allegedly) cut off a wheel clamp.

  • I'd be checking on ebay etc. if you want this kind of thing for occasional DIY stuff

People are occasionally selling these used, or you can even buy the old Ryobi One (blue) sets that still work with the new Li batteries but will be really really cheap. They used to use those dodgy old NiMh batteries i think

  • Shame it does not come with a battery im in desperate need of an extra one.

Your car has been clamped ?

  • FYI, this is the worst tool in the One+ range - badly underpowered & stops when only a small amount of pressure is applied

Have you ever used the chainsaw?

    • I thought the worst ones are those piss-weak torch and fan… haven't used any of those 2 before just educated guess.

    • Only good for light work when away from a power point.

  • I had issues with the handle grip becoming very hot & uncomfortable after a good 20 minute workout cutting pavers. When I went to change the battery I found the plastic casing around the battery contacts had started melting to the point where it was brown & nearly caught fire……….I suppose its like the Samsung Note 7.
Great tool but can't handle intense work.

Great tool but can't handle intense work.

      Sounds like my last appraisal.

A single battery (i am guess 4.5Ah) can last 20mins cutting pavers? That's quite impressive.

There are 3 others of this range that have dropped in price to $99 recently - impact driver / hammer drill / worklight

  • Where this is useful is in pure light metal work - e.g I've used an angle grinder to cut a steel fence to size and it's been a pain to get power down to where you have the fencing bits.

A corded angle grinder made really light work of cutting through wire fences so even though the reviews on this grinder aren't great, if you only needed it for light work (really, just cutting through thick wire..) it may work pretty well for the convenience of not having a cord..
