Sub $200 for people targeted with the 10% off storewide coupon!!

  • +8

I just insta bought this with my 20% off code for $168.76, thanks OP!

    • +2

whats the code? can you share?

      • +1

It was a unique targeted 20% off for my account, I think the code was heavily targeted

        • +1

Tried COOLBANANAS, didnt work for me :-(

        • +1

          @Damnsmart:

Yeah it's an even further targeted promotion than that one, it's like a single use code that was emailed and popped up in my account.

        • @doweyy:
What is the criteria for these codes?
          Is it random?

        • @Hirolol:

Yeah just a random target market, usually inactive accounts with no/little purchases over 12 months. The account I got it on was my parents account with 0 purchases.

    • yes please share, cant find any code that works for this

  • Does seem crazy cheap, what's the catch? (I know it's not the fastest, but other then that ?)

    • Reliability probably

Performance is up there with Samsung 850
      http://www.overclock.net/t/1552273/sandisk-extreme-pro-960gb…

      • +2

I've had 2 x 240GB Sandisk SSD in Raid 0 for 4-5 years now without an issue so I wouldn't be too worried about reliability.

    • +3

The catch is that it isn't a Samsung SSD.

    • +3

It's a price error and might get cancelled?

No catch with the drives. They're good.

      • +6

Yes, tragically I suspect you're correct . There was a similar pricing error on Amazon last year for a 960gb drive. Ozbargain went crazy, and we all got refunded the next day. Anyway, you've gotta be in it to win it.

  • +3

No question this is a pricing error. They have the 480GB versions at the same price. Fingers crossed they don't cancel :)

    • +1

They have noted the "list price" of this product at $219, further indication it's an error. No where in the world is a Sandisk 960gb "list priced" at Aud$220

    • +1

Possible but yesterday they where dumping some lenovo products at ridiculous cheap prices
so hopefully they honour this for those that bought

  • +7

Someone please convince me not to buy?

    • +10

      Buy it.

      • +40

        That was easy. Purchased.

  • I'm just going to point out the Extreme Pro 480G and 960G are both $210 at Gray's, potential mis-pricing?

    • +1

      Rule 7 of OzBargain….

  • +3

For those wondering, Extreme Pro is faster!

    • Damn, I got the Ultra :( Oh well, still a cracker of a deal.

      • Why not have both…? lol

(sell the Ultra for what you paid if both prices get honoured)

        • True haha, I'll go ahead with it then

    • +1

960GB comparison, which is the relevant one, shows an even greater difference - http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/SanDisk-Ultra-II-960GB-…

  • -6

i wouldnt buy the 960GB pro even though its the same price as the ultraII.

Lots of complaints about reliability on the extreme pro model (and the potential for price error)

    • +3

I recall the reliability concern being the other way around (Ultra II with more issues), which is reflected on the Amazon reviews for each. Interested to know what made you come to that conclusion- I'm not sure whether to buy now :/.

    • I've had my Extreme Pro (120gb) for over 5 years now, haven't had an issue

  • +2

on the Extreme Pro page: "There are 1,110 items available. Please enter a number less than or equal to 1,110."

Well, plenty of stock for everyone

  • How does this compare with the Samsung or other brands?

    • +4

super ultra reliable and up there with samsung (albeit slightly slower)

      • +3

Slightly slower is ok as long as reliability is good, but I'm a bit scared to buy from Graysonline.

        • +2

Reliability is good for both of these drives, but not quite in the same league as Samsung as far as overall failure rates go, especially at this capacity.

  • +1

Are all current Ebay discount codes/coupons targeted? Just checked my inbox and have none. :(

    • +14

Yes. You need to open multiple accounts if you really want to utilise the targeted codes. I opened up an account for this very purpose about 6weeks ago……. Yesterday I was sent a 20% off code. eBay does not reward regular customers.

      • Thanks for the tip. May have to do the same.

You're spot on….I rarely get any discount coupons on my account which I've had over 10+ years and sell/buy on a regular basis.

        • Same here. Their strategy is stupid. Will make another account for the same reason too.

      • Thanks, will definitely do this.

    • +1

I got a $30 ebay voucher today which said it was for selling on ebay, that would make this ssd $180.95 but Im not going to use it on this in case they cancel in which Im sure the voucher would be lost and wasted as its non refundable if the seller cancels.

      • I'm sure this was for selling $300+ by a certain date via the app. I didn't get close to selling near that amount so missed out.

      • @Danielm88

I got that $30 as well, and spent it on this deal. As soon as I did it I regretted it, I'm sure it's gone now. :(

      • Daniel, if you call eBay you can have that $30 reinstated with a 1 month expiry. I did it this morning.

  • +7

Tried to convince myself not to buy this, failed.

  • +1

waste of time but still purchased just in case dammit!

  • +22

Seems they are cheaper directly from GraysOnline as they're both $195.40 delivered, unless I'm missing a buyers premium or something… http://www.graysonline.com/search.aspx?q=ssd
So if you don't have any current eBay codes buying direct might work out better, especially if you're buying more than one, as each additional will only cost $180.40, due to combined shipping costs.

    • +1

Surely it's not a pricing error then

      • +1

But RRP $219 for the 960G?

        • Sandisk Extreme Pro SSD 960gb
          Amazon - $441.49 USD
          Statice cheapest - $518.85 AUD

      • I dunno though, the website RRP says $219 - surely that can't be right?
EDIT: Beaten to the comment :)

      • as is this SanDisk microSD SDQ 8GB costs like $120.95 !!

Their site is full of price errors of any kind

        • +3

They put the price up to deter people from buying. Instead of listing it as sold out, they'd rather put up the price outrageously until they have stock to lower it back down.

        • @madfree: ahh right, that makes a lot of sense!

    • Bought 2 Extremes from here. $375 delivered for 2tb of SSD whaaaat.

Might throw them into RAID0 in a new PC!

      thx!

    • +3

you are a legend tofuguts! purchased 2 Extreme Pros which worked out to be $187.90 delivered.

    • +1

      Good find updated post

  • +3

120 sold in one hour, only 46 upvotes?

    • +2

A few brodens or lots of lurkers

  • I've used these for years. NO problem at all with the Ultras. Extreme Pro is okay too.

  • -3

    Good luck with GraysOnline https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/284136

    • +3

What is this link trying to show?

    • +3

Don't see anything negative about them in that post?

  • damn, forgot cashrewards :(

  • This product normally comes with a 5 or 10 year guarantee at other stores, however GraysOnline only quote a 12 month warranty? Refurbished?

    • +1

      Item condition:Brand New

    • +3

They do state it as "new" though. Grey market perhaps? Though, I thought Sandisk did international warranty

    • +5

Box shown has 10yr warranty on both eBay and Grays… Would be decent ground for arguing any claims after a year I'd guess

    • +1

Extreme has a 10 year warranty and Ultra II has a 3 year warranty according to Sandisk, so if it's brand new these will be the warranty periods. 12 months is only to return to Grays for money back.

      • After 2-3 years these drives have no more market value so I would like to see you guys returning one of these gadgets to Taiwan or China and pay posting fees.

        • They'll send you a USB 6.0 3 petabyte keyring flash drive they give out during roafshows

  • Need an M.2 drive - never see deals on those here.

  • Just bought this… and I don't even know why

    • Buy 4 of these and put them into RAID0 and you will theoretically smash m.2 speeds out of the park with just shy of 4tb of usable storage

      • +1

Did you reply to the wrong person?

  • Paypal won't send me my verification code

While waiting I did a quick search on graysonline and figure I'd rather not have anything to do with them

Thanks paypal, you're the best protection there is.

    • well, i'm just gonna say that i received my paypal receipt just fine and they've taken my money too SO…

thanks paypal, you're the best protection there is. (hopefully it won't come to that)

  • I don't think they will honor this especially after 200 people purchased it

  • +2

Wow, next cheapest I can find on staticice is ~$520

  • +1

Purchased 1: At the time 182 SOLD
By the time of the purchase finalisation, 194 sold…

Grays could be get getting a lot of negative feedback if they try and cancel the order

    • 337 Sold~

Does anyone on here know if when selling large quantities, a maximum limit is set, or can sales be set to unlimited ?

      • There was just over 1000 available initially, 717 still available right now.

        • I suppose if this goes viral like some Ozbargain bargains, they may be able to negotiate a pretty low price with Sandisk.

        • @scissorspaperrock:

Yes a 50 percent discount please sandisk, to save the Graysonline name.

  • must resist!!!!!!!!

  • +1

When I go to checkout, it does say "save 75%"

  • Not sure if i needed it but bought anyways…

    • Holy heck! This is the true bargain!

    • $179 + GST + shipping
Easier to deal with eBay and PayPal if something goes wrong.
