Fantastic game, very addictive and potentially has 100s of hours of replayability. Challenging too, some people don't 'win' until they've done a lot of runs. Reccomend playing without the DLC first, to get a handle on the core mechanics before adding more.
Plus there are plenty of mods available. Most notable being the "Captains Mod" which adds heaps of scenarios, weapons and other random stuff. Though I like the one that replaces the fairly bland backgrounds with high def images of the galaxy from Hubble :)
