Plantronics Backbeat Pro 2 over Ear Headphones $193.59 Shipped @ Mighty Ape eBay

170
CYBER

Good price for those who can not afford the Bose QC35 or the Sony MDR-1000X. This headset is pretty comparable with more better tech. Good comparison with Bose here. There is another cheaper listing from FutureGear 162.24 delivered, however their store rating is not as good as the Mighty Ape, so not worth risking it. It is shipped from New Zealand.

I bought these headphones from this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/289864 I'm no audiophile, but I'm very happy with the sound quality and still haven't had to recharge them after significant use. My only complaint is the cups don't breathe so it can make your ears uncomfortable in warmer weather. Awesome value though for any Ozbargainers like myself whose sphincters clench tight at the thought of shelling out $350+ on a pair of Bose QC35s.

  • I also grabbed these earlier this year and have been very happy with them. Low end isn't the best IMO but I still love them.

  • Can you guys comment on comfort in terms of clamping force? That's one of my main concerns with over ear headphones.

    • Wouldn't on-ears be more clamping? (since they're actually pressing against the ears?)

Yeah definitely, I avoid those altogether for that reason. But over-ears can still pinch, especially if you wear them for hours like I do.

I purchased them from FutureGear on Monday, arrived yesterday ($169), so I don't think it's that much of a risk to get from there.

    • Does anyone know anything about/have any feedback or experience with FutureGear? (Mightape price have gone up to $299). Are FutureGear likely to be legit in terms of sell genuine stock?

The risk is when you have to claim warranty. Plantronics headset quality is good though, so might not be a problem there, but for around $20 difference on a $200 item, I would not personally take the risk.

      • Thanks Flickr, much appreciated.

I agree, for $20 it's not worth it and I would have went for the mighty ape price, but as above, they appear to now have jacked the pricing up to $299 so it breaks down to $239.20 through mighty ape vs $164 from FutureGear. So $75 difference now :(

Here's one, price is AUD$164.23 (shipping price included) after the 20% discount code 'CYBER' has been applied.

    • Thanks T-RX23, I just went ahead ordered a set from them this afternoon (just wasn't sure if they were legit/not fakes when I was looking last night). Cheers.
