Nice, Cheapest Ive seen it from ADL

  • Is this the cheapest price ever from Melbourne guys?

    • I managed to get $823 a few years ago on AirNZ.

    • $777 also on AirNZ last year

Outstanding from Adelaide. I'm broke as a MOFO and i'm searching ADL-LAX flights for USA Summer 17

FWIW these prices should only last for another hour and a half (until 11:59pm AEDT), after which they revert back to this.

    Pity it is Qantas

    • +1

That's because you never used United. Qantas may not be the top airline, but they are among the best I used…

So what are people's views on prices tumbling as the Trump effect hits the tourism market even more?

  • Just got back from flying American to California… probably not again. Very trying and uncomfortable. LA and SF are probably the most hypocritical places i have ever been. Definitely do not live up to the hype imo. The homeless problems alone are ridiculous. Plenty to keep you busy though in both places and lots of good food. Can be quite picturesque on a sunny day esp SF. If only they did not stink like weed everywhere.

Anyone know any ideas how to search cheap one way flights? (not decided a return date)

    • +1

try googleflights…. very good, they even suggest cheaper dates and alternative airports nearby… can also track prices for you

    • IWTF or Skyscanner

      • I've tried and its futile :(
Never seem to get a good deal with these posted return ones. When I remove return it is more or less the same price as the return lol

        • +1

They're usually part of a special deal as a return flight. Where are you planning to go with a one way flight? Try plugging in your dates and destination into an airline's site directly. If you're looking at one way to the US, the cheapest option might be to grab a cheap Jetstar flight to Hawaii and an low cost US domestic carrier from there to LA or wherever

Unfortunately one way flights just tend not to be cheap. Went through this myself a while back. Make sure you've got a good story/proper visa though. Not having a return ticket is a free reason for customs to deny you entry if you loose the TSA border agent lottery.

      • I wouldn't risk a one way ticket to the US at the moment. They will ask to see evidence that you're cashed up etc

  • Looking for a multi city deal from Melbourne to NYC & Then return from SFO roughly around Sep/oct 2017 for 3 weeks. Whats the best I can expect guys?

  • Do the TSA search everyones laptop and phone and ask for passwords or only a couple of singled out people?

Under Trump law, it depends if you are black or Muslim sadly

If you're a white male with an Aussie passport and have never been to the Middle East I wouldn't worry. They're not going to search everyone like that. It'd take you a week to get through the airport. That said, you know, be sensible. :)

      • And people make "white privilege" out to be such a bad thing!

  • Sydney to SF prices have risen. This has probably expired.
