NAD D 1050 USB DAC/Headphone Amp - $384.76 at Grays Online on eBay after 20% CYBER Promo Code

I've been thinking to buy a decent USB DAC for my PC which I can also double up as a decent headphone amp and stumbled across this great price for NAD USB DAC. Combined with 20% off, pretty sure it is cheapest price available in Australia now.

For those wondering, this can be used as a soundcard for your PC, and then you connect an amp + speaker on the output and you'll have much better sound quality.
Alternatively you can use this with other source ie; console, bluray player, etc.

As comparison, Len Wallis still has it for $559

  • is it dac or stack dac/amp?

    • It's a DAC, if you want an amp, go for the D3020.

  • I was actually looking at Schiit Fulla 2 which is about half the price of this.
Do you know how these two compare?

    • Is that same as Fulla Schitt? I've heard a few of those.

  • +1

An Audio-gd NFB-11 isn't too much more. But they do have a 20-30 day lead time. I paid $445 for one at the start of the month.

  • tell me one use of a dac

    • it's an audiophile's soundcard

    • Justifies downloading the larger data size of lossless music files like FLAC, ALE etc

  • Whattabout OTG? Any deals deals for it?

  • I just bought Nad 3020d from them using 20% discount for $400. Amplifier with Dac and headphone output. That's a great price as I was watching it for some time during auction s and it usually sells for $364 + 17.5% fees + 16 postage.
    Thanks op.

    • So you saved $43?

      • Yes and it's new rather than ex-demo units they sell during auctions. Sold in shops for $600 plus.
400 Great price if you need it..
I have desk setup with hi-fi bookshelf speakers and will be running this as Dac to my laptop, amp and headphone amp to drive HD600.
These 30w per channel will put your Sony soundbar so called 300w output to shame.
        Very happy.

Plus check your math, it's a bit off too. Not sure how you come up with your saving.

        • Are you using headphones with this unit mate.
I want to upgrade my fiio E 10k DAC to something better and like the look of this. Maybe add some decent book shelve speakers down the road.

          Thanks

        • @bbourizk:

I tried my HD600 with it before and they were fine, given they are not easy to drive. Great sound too.
For 400 a Dac, Preamp with headphone amp and sub out and Amp is a fantastic offer.
Now how do I explain this purchase to my mrs…

        • @smurfy:
          Thanks mate.
I'll using them with a pair of beyerdynamic dt 990 pro 250ohms.

        • @bbourizk:

No worries, hard to beat at $400. I am running Plinius amp with tube preamp on my main system and I am sure nad should be comparable at a fraction of the price.
Again thanks to OP for the tip off.

  • I use the Audioengine D1 Dac on my laptop.

    Solid build.
    24 bit.
Almost half the price of the NAD
Check out their website and they are available in oz from pccasegear.

This DAC is three and a half years old and even with the discount pricey.

  • No DSD support, otherwise it's a perfect DAC at this price.
