    I followed Fluidtek on Twitter last night, but am going to have to unfollow them again!

    They've tweeted 44 times in the past 2 hours… that is more than all my twitter contacts put together! Successful marketing means catching new customers and keeping them, not spamming them to death LOL

    Pity, because I am living in North Rocks / Carlingford area and prefer to buy from Fluidtek and ItEstate than MSY down in Auburn.

          This. I went to Fluidtek once to buy a portable hard drive and a few other things. The hard drive was cheaper elsewhere, and the other things were sold out.

          Still, my mother wanted her hard drive so we bought it. Should have been done in 3 minutes… but he decided to have a conversation at us about credit card surcharges that lasted half an hour.

          Never buying from Fluidtek again.

        Ask Eddie. Thats what he has posted on his web site. Then I look over on twitter and the sale has bee extended to 7pm. But not updated on his web site. Rarely does he update the web site. And usually the top half or less is currrent. Ignore the side catagories and the bottom half of the web site with out of date product, old prices and stock that he no longer sells.

    Wow, cheap x-530. I'm kinda tempted (but probably won't go get it).

    And I'll talk about my only experience at Fluidtek. I went there around May last year to get a BenQ G2412HD monitor posted here last year on OzBargain. Despite reading all the negative comments here, I went in and it was a smooth transaction. No dramas whatsoever. I did notice him having a chat with someone, but all shop keepers seem to do that.

    Anyway, from what I've read on OzBargain + own personal experience, I've concluded that if you're just buying something, make it fast and simple. Go in, tell them what you want, pay, get out. If you're trying to complain about a product, or trying to get something checked under warranty.. then you'll have some trouble.

      thanks mate good to hear some positve, i went a long while ago and thought it was a fairly smooth process but have recently noticed a lot of people seem to complain about eddy. I'm going over now to pick up a few things and will report back.

        ok as promised, here's what I experienced. I walk in, Eddie (who, I dont personally know on any level) asks me what I need. I grab my harmony 515 (which at $25 is the cheapest in Sydney) and am out the door in 90 seconds. Cheap prices, service with a smile - I dont see any problems with that.

        Im sure there may be times when you might have to wait in line, but at those prices you have to understand you are not going to be the only one wanting to buy something. And the complaints that the dude enters into conversation with his customers/friends? I thought that was called customer service. If you find that he is banging on about credit card surcharges or whatever, then just excuse yourself like so.. "I know aye? Anyway good chatting Eddie. Gotta jet pick up the kids. Catch ya next time". Anyway I'd much rather talk to a human than experience the nazi soup kitchen that is MSY. Dont get me wrong, I like them and their deals too, but they can pretty cold (and often sold out).

        The thing is with outfits like these, they have to keep overheads at a minimum (small store, few staff), and the only way they can offer cheap prices is to keep the margins low but move items in bulk. Bulk means lots of people will be queing for awesome deals. The winners really are end users who have the patience to wait and save their $$$ (often quite a bit). If you don't, or your time is more valuable than the $$ you save, then move on to other stores, or the big retail chains if you need some sort of special treatment each time you shop.

        Anyway, thats my two cents. Eddie if you read this keep the deals coming mate and don't become a cold machine :) do however take it easy on the tweets, you're not competing with Ashton Kutcher ;)

        PS Eddie the website is also pretty "busy" looking, to put it nicely, but if it means you using hours to pretty up the site instead of putting those towards haggling with logitech for even cheaper deals then you know what to do!

            chux if you're not in syd and need something I can grab and post for you - provided im going to the store and it's not too bulky and heavy, like the z5500s or g27 steering as these are so heavy once you add shipping it will prolly be similar rates to wherever you are.

    I've bought 2 items from fluidtek, around a month back. Wasn't served by Eddie though, served by the lady at the counter. There's also a credit card surcharge of 5% ( If I remember right)

    Damn. I was just about to leave home to go get the x-530 speakers, but turns out they're sold out now (according to their twitter).

    Just wondering if anyone actually tried that take a photo with your product and get a further $5 off? I would've done that for sure haha

      how much does fluidtek normally have the drums for anyone know? Hope they got some left
      Ive got half decent set that r plugged into the GH:WT controller midi port but would be nice to have a decent spare set and the logitech folds up really well too

    Hrm, that z5500 at $225 with purchase of corsair 850W at $179 looks pretty good.
    Staticice has the corsair at 178 w/o shipping.
    I don't feel like forking out $400 so fast though.
