Would anyone know if this would be any good on a cruise ship? I saw someone using a radio like this at our last cruise…but not sure if it would work in case one is at the top deck and other one in the cabin.

I got some of these Uniden radios from Dick Smith just before they closed down as replacements for the Baofeng radios I bought before I knew they weren't approved. The new ones work well, but I doubt the 10km range is achievable in most situations.

Did try with a 3W from JayCar in connection with 5W Boafeng, and reception went crap after about 800m. Sydney North Shore suburbia.
Watch out for those Boafeng, you'll get into a lot of trouble if they catch you using it.
