100

Got a newsletter email today from www.cubictech.com.au

"eSUN Filament April SALE
Our BIGGEST ever sale event for the eSUN filaments is on now. Shop from now to 10th April to get 20% off all stock. That includes the popular PLA+, ABS+, PETG, Poly-carbonate and many more."

If you subscribe to their newsletter, you get another 5% off the first order (code SUB5), not sure it works more than once.
But I got another 5% code for next order, after I placed order.

Shipping is $10 flat or if you spend over $150, it is free. It had an option for free pickup too in VIC.

Their ebay store does not appear to have the 20% off.

The colours I really wanted was not in stock NO Black,Orange ABS or PLA in stock :(

I bought white, red and silver PLA 1.75mm.

  • It seems eSUN filament is quite good for me.

I've bought 2 batch of the PLA and ABS combined from them - no problem so far.

I think they are clearing their stock and the last time order (2 weeks ago) I got was July 2016 MFD printed on the package.

    • I am new to 3D printing and I have only bought 1 filament roll once before (blue of all colours I chose), NOT eSUN, not completely satisfied with the results compared with the samples that came with the printer.

I have read only good things about eSUN, so I hope it works good for me too. I do wish they had Black though.

I have not tried ABS yet, I read it can be difficult.

      • If you are new, different filaments print differently. Its likely that you are printing with the wrong settings. Have you tried printing it slowly, and adjusting the temperature as it prints, so you can see how it turns out?

      • I would suggest you to try the temperature tower…

Not all of the filaments on the market are high quality but we should at least get them working. Good luck!

BTW, which printer are you using? My first printer was XYZ Da Vinci Duo 2.0A and I had some bad experience with the printer - I ended up building a DIY machine…

        • let's call my printer a wanhao i3 duplicator v2.1 rebranded. The first print I ever did with the included filament was the 3D benchy boat, surprisingly it was almost perfect first time. 3rd print with my new filament (not esun) on the same settings, it was not even sticking to the bed, it was curling up on edges. stringy at times like a spider web.
It was at 215degrees, the default recommended temp in the manual for pla.

I have managed to get the new filament working acceptable on 200degrees, I should try a little lower too next time. once that first few layers go down, I am confident to leave it. I get pillowing sometimes.

  • Out of White 3mm PLA :-(

  • I have found that Esun filament gives off some sort of fume/smell when I was printing with PLA. Was a bit of a nuisance and bothersome as it filled the room my printer is in. I have bought many different brands and colours of PLA filament from other places (non-Esun) and no fumes/smells. Quality is on par and have not looked at Esun since.
