  • They don't give you the vat back, do they?

  • Need fake UK details to create account but they will ship internationally it appears. Ordered, thanks OP

    • Shouldn't need to make up fake UK details to create an account, I've got an account with them just using my Australian details.

      • shrug. When I registered to order, they insisted on UK address and phone number for the account. It was late and I was tired :)

        • What did you put in for fake details? Won't it get delivered to that address/that number will get notifications?

        • @Zeath163:

No I just entered a different (i.e. Real) address in Oz and paid the international shipping

  • In all honesty, don't waste time and money on the steam link unless you have Ethernet connected to your pc and where your TV is, because you'll need to connect it the steam link which needs to be connected to the TV, if you want smooth streaming. WiFi is literally useless, lag free gaming over it is impossible.

    • i have a steamlink with pc connected directly to modem and the steamlink connected by wifi about 3 metres away with nothing in the way. modem is nighthawk d7000. i can play absolutely fine. though i cannot say if this would be true if the modem was not in the steamlink's line of sight.

      • Sorry, I'm a bit retarded, but curious about what you're saying.. Can you explain literally how you've connected everything to everything? Like between the PC, steamlink, modem, and TV, how is each connected? Thanks so much in advance.

From what I understand he has PC connected via Ethernet directly to router, and steam link connected on WiFi next to the TV which is 3m from the router.

I've never used steam link, but I have used the steam home streaming from my PC to my laptop. PC was connected through ethernet, and laptop was on the other side of the house on WiFi through two walls. Didn't notice any input lag playing Crysis. So unless the steam link has an awful WiFi radio it should be fine I would think.

        • @enceladus94:

yep cheers for clarifying, that was what i was saying. i have been playing gta v on my steam link a bit with no issues.

@enceladus94: Sure, but will it run Crys… oh, wait…

      • I have mine similar whereby steam link is only Ethernet connected to Pc (15 meter cable from computer room to living room, which I disconnect when finished pc gaming in lounge room) and pc is WiFi to modem. No lag. Essentially, local pc connection, wouldn't call it 'streaming' perse. However, powerline definitely seems the way to go for such distances and if playing online.

    • I was playing CS: GO upstairs on my ADSL+2 without lag. But I haven't used my Steam Link enough to comment on it really. Though I can say that the controller isn't for everyone, defo not for me.

  • Someone got these to run Retroach directly on the device apparently, ie. not streaming from a PC.

  • Is this deal worth it?

    • +6

Depends. If you need a new lawnmower this deal isn't for you. If you need to stream games, possibly.

  • Ordered this 19 days ago, any idea on how much longer this should take?

    • Anyone got theirs yet?

      • Not yet, contacted support and they told me to wait until the end of the week.. something seems fishy

Could they be waiting for the credit card fraud system to be over the 1 month waiting period?

        • +1

Jokes, got mine. No problems with the products. Happy with steam link and steam controller.

        • @Zeath163:
Thanks, I'm overseas so hopefully waiting for me when I get home
