  • I don't suppose this will last until they start sales for Galaxy S8?

    • +1

      Or preorderig would be cool

  • I had to wait about 2 hrs for them to get the order ready so you can't always collect immediately.

    • +5

I've waited 30 mins on an order that I made the previous day. New guy doesn't what he's doing. Just fiddling on the computer pretending he's doing something then the manager came and got my order in 2 mins.

      • I made the order when i got to work. Got a call about 12pm saying it would be ready to be picked up after 2pm which meant i couldn't go out at lunch to pick it up.
Dont know why OP always insists on saying its available immediately and I've mentioned before it isnt

        • Hi gazza88

As long as stock avaiability showing instock and you happy to pay over counter you can pickup immidately.

if you bought low stock / back order / pre-order you have to wait we notify you to confirm order is ready for pickup, or if you pay by paypal/credit card/bank deposit or cheque, you have to wait payment to clear or verified before you can pickup.

        • @mobileciti: so it's not possible to pick it up immediately after ordering online as OP says since we can't order online and pay instore

        • +1

          @gazza88:

You can order online and choose payment option pay instore. In-stock item should able to pickup immidately.

        • @mobileciti: Cash or EFTPOS only for that option.

        Hi lzefyre

Sorry to hear that our customer service does not meet your expectations, we will definitely provide more training to our staff, Thanks for your feedback!!

  • +11

    So 10% off lol

    • +2

      10% off max

    • +8

A bit worst than 10% off cause you only get the 10% off at the threshold.

    "Get $20 off $200 | Get $50 off $500 | Get $80 off $800"

So if I spend $499 do I only get $20 off?

  • +3

why no huawei mate 9 pro?

    • The question on ebrybody lips

  • +1

Isn't it rather convenient that the Galaxy S7 is priced $2 below $800 so miss out on the $80 discount? Mobileciti being a little disappointing here again…

    • +5

I Assume there's $2 sp or $5 case in there somewhere

      • -1

You aren't wrong, but they could have been a bit more wholehearted in regards to the deal. I mean, it will probably start biting into the next discount tier just trying to find something useful for the phone in question.

    • +2

Add something worth $5 then, like a case…

    • +20

      Hi IIMurphaII,

We've had the Galaxy S7 for $798 for a while, see last $80 off deal for example. You can add a cheap accessory if you want, or do you want me to raise the price to $800 for the duration of the sale? Thanks

    • +2

think about the different between S7 selling $800 and S7 selling at $798 plus $2 case? both get the same discount and same total, is that a lose or win for buyer?

    • -5

      I feel you my niggard

  • +18

Dunno about Mobileciti… Had an Xpedia Z2 with "liquid damage" (it's "waterproof" and I never even went near water with it), Mobileciti said they're not dealing with it and I must send it to Sony. Sony directed me to Fonebiz. Fonebiz sent out a refurb replacement which arrived with a cracked screen. Sent the replacement back for repair and was told I must pay $299 or the phone would be disposed of (aka sold for profit), had to threaten legal action to even get the broken phone back…

Mobileciti, Fonebiz, Sony and Startrack all pointed the finger at each other, I ended up $180 out of pocket for a screen replacement… And had no phone for 2 months. I understand it's not exactly Mobileciti's fault, but under consumer law they're required to provide a refund, replacement or repair… And the repair provided to me was far from satasfactory.

tl;dr: you're relying 100% on manufacturer warranty, when it's something like Sony that uses Fonebiz for warranty repairs you may end up in sketchy situations and Mobileciti won't do much to help.

Edit: Unsure who down voted, feel free to explain. I'm happy to hear if others have good experiences relating to warranty with Mobileciti…

    • +3

Ultimately it is the manufacturer who provides the warranty.

Under consumer law, Mobileciti cannot refuse to handle the warranty process. This means that they will have to take it from you and send it to sony or sony's authorised repairer.

      • Hi BuyoTheCat

See below for how to process Sony Mobile(Au) Warranty

        1. Contact Sony arrange pickup from your place and return back to you after repaired (Alway recommanded)

        2. Contact Mobileciti return back to seller, seller send faulty to Sony service center(take little bit longer in transit)

        3. Bring directly to Sony service agent Fonebiz/Villawood if you live near by. (Fast, if you live near by)

Feel free to choose your perfer options to handle your warranty/

        • +3

sorry, i forgot to add that it is the buyer's choice to contact the manufacturer or let the retailer handle the warranty.
          It is the buyer's choice.

So yes. You are right. Thank you for clarifying.

      • +2

I'm more commenting about the responsibility side of things and requirements under consumer law. If I sent it directly to Mobileciti and received a replacement with a cracked screen you could understand Mobileciti is responsible for sorting that out, correct?

My situation (as far as consumer law goes) is no different. They provided a repair at no charge to me (through Sony and Fonebiz) in line with requirements, though the repair wasn't of a standard compliant with consumer law (due to the cracked screen and highly obvious refurb feel of the returned unit). Mobileciti is then responsible for further repair(s), or a replacement or refund.

Overall, I was just stating you have no real consumer law to back you up with Mobileciti - you're relying on manufacturer warranty contracts which are at times very strict.

    • +5

      Hi dyl

Sorry to hear your issues, just want to clarify that Mobileciti are not authorised to handle any warranty repairs, according to all manufacturer warranty policies we have to forward all warranty to their service centre. For Sony Warranty booking, Sony support team will request handset in your position before you call up and support team will provide basic troubleshooting then offer RMA. From experience calling Sony to arrange warranty booking and pickup is the most easy and fastest way to process, of course you can always request to return back to Mobileciti and we will forward it to Sony.

Unfortunately your case is slightly different, I am not sure what exactly happened, can you PM me the case details and I will definitely investigate further.

      • +1

This case was well over a year ago now and isn't overly important anymore (I had the Xperia repaired out of pocket, sold it and purchased an Xiaomi).

As summarized in TL;dr, I was more ensuring people understood they're relying on manufacturer warranty rather than Mobileciti to do anything. When the manufacturer warranty is something like Fonebiz you could be in for a bad time… Doesn't mean they need to completely avoid Mobileciti, just a consideration to keep in mind when deciding if the price is right. Still better warranty than most grey imports.

        • +1

          Its just fonebiz mate.
I have an Xperia z2 thats been repaired multiple times..at fonebiz
Once was mine (at fault) but got away with it.
The newer xperias don't have as much points of failures (flaps frequently being opened)

        • +1

          @cwongtech:
I'm more focused on Mobileciti than Fonebiz here. Fonebiz (or Startrack?) was clearly the weak link, but it's not for me (the consumer) to sort this out - that's meant to be the job of the retailer who is meant to facilitate the repair process.

I understand my case with fonebiz is more than likely rare, but my point still stands - Mobileciti didn't want anything to do with the situation, despite that being incompliant with consumer law.

        • +3

@dyl: Sorry to hear that. I had similar situation with JB for my Tablet, where they said it will be faster to deal with manf. directly. I insisted that I bought it from them and they need to fwd that to Manf. Their manager jumped in behaving that he is doing a favour and showing that if there are delays, it is not his fault. I still insisted they take the claim to manf.

In your case even it was fault of Sony or Fonebiz, it should have been handled by retailer.
Retailers often do that. Stick to your point and even old, glad you pointed it out and hope Mobileciti don't do it in future.

Too bad. Gear S3 Frontier sold out :(

  • Shame the Moto G4 Play (white) is sold out.

I was planning on getting one and buying cheap Verizon Moto G4 Plays for <$35 and pillaging them for spare batteries for it.

  • M9 Pro is gone :(
    Can't find Oneplus either.

  • Do you guys have apple watch?

  • Any chance you guys will be stocking the Xperia XZs as that released this week into some markets or is it not releasing in AU? Thank you

A laymen description of 10% off

Not quite. If I'm not mistaken, it's still $20 off if you spend $400 etc.

    Hi Rep
How to get iPhone 7 128GB for $1068
I want to order one but For me it is showing 1148

    • +2

By applying the coupon as described in the OP.

  • -7

    These guys are no good

      • -3

Mate, I have commented before on their shady warranty practices. They always brush you off to Fonebiz or the manufacturer and don't even know Australian consumer Law.

THEY HAVE TO DO ALL THE RUNNING AROUND AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY

There's always some Asian dude on the computer just punching random keys and trying to look busy. The Soo er we stop supporting these guys the better. They get away with it and have guys like tightass supporting them and they never change

        • +6

They always brush you off to Fonebiz

          This may help…

          guys like tightass supporting them

I'm free to support whoever. Block the store/OP/whatever if you're not interested in these deals.

          There's always some Asian dude

          Why is race relevant?

        • -3

          @tightarse:

What makes these guys different from any other store. When I buy from jb or Harvey's they don't tell me to go elsewhere, they deal with it.

They always hide behind their ignorance, they pretend they don't understand what your saying then come on this forum to apologise.

I will do big investigation and involve ACCC as well. I have had enough of companies taking us for mugs

        • +3

@eneloop: i purchased an s7 edge from harvey norman which had a faulty screen and they said they cant do nothing about it and blamed me for it so i went to samsung store and they seen the fault and replaced it on the spot.

    • +15

You neg'd the deal because you didn't get a discount you weren't entitled to? Just so you know, I negotiated this deal with MC directly last night around 6pm. How was a salesman in store supposed to know there would be another sale coming up just for you?? Your sense of entitlement is incredible. Funny thing is if you had approached the rep via PM rather than vent your spleen, I'm quite certain he would have refunded the difference with no questions. Neg away.

    • +3

      Hi rockyb433

Sorry to hear this, coupon deal was part of special promotion support by vendor or suppliers and limited time only, we have to report the result in the end of promotions. Store staff don't have access to all the coming up promote.

If you missed the deal for any reason, please send PM to me, will try out best to help and provide as much info as we can just like others people did.

Again sorry for all the inconvenience.

    • TA said he negotiated the deal directly, mobileciti says it's part of a vendor/supplier promotion?

      • +1

Read again carefully. Mobileciti is referring to last week's promo that rockyb433 missed out on. Nothing to do with this new deal.

        • That's why I love Costco. They have 30 days price promise. If the price goes down within 30 days of purchase, you can get the difference refunded.

  • +2

Prices dont seem that competitive as usual. Moto G4 Play is $232 with you guys, yet $197 at officeworks and $199 at the good guys.

Good thing i checked around! Almost clicked pay!

    Just bought from officeworks :D

    • They aren't going to beat officeworks etc. on the mid-low range phones, but I've had my eye on an S7 for a while (waiting for a further price drop) and they are almost always (if not always) cheaper than JB/OW/GG - you only have to check Pricehipster to see that on the flagships they are consistently cheaper, barring cracking specials.

Not very fair to say their prices aren't competitive on a single make/model when this is a blanket discount vs spend across all their phones. Perhaps they should have added YMMV to the post…

  • Good deal, this makes the phone I'm after even more affordable. So purchasing from MC would be no different from buying from the likes of JB - same exact model etc. just a different business (and at a much better price!)?

  • +1

Can we use this to price match OW?

    • +1
    • Was hoping they would also, but knew they wouldn't before even reading the t&cs.

  • Is Samsung Galaxy S7 edge worth buying now? Seems a good phones but I have read a lot negative reviews regarding sensitive screen, weak speaker, apps popping out without touching the phone etc.

    https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2623306

  • Any suggestions on a good, affordable B28 phone (I'm with Optus) which qualifies for this deal?

  • was looking for buy a S7 edge, since S8 released and price should be cheaper, and above price i still feel it's expensive, did search on ebay some shops sold for around $650…
