Nice find, just a heads up - this watch has non-standard lugs, so you won't be able to replace the bracelet to any other strap.

Also some may want to consider the slightly larger 41mm Citizen Eco-Drive Chronograph AT2100-09E $129.00 shipped.

    • Nice point, but I'd imagine, apart from metal bracelets, it shouldn't be a big problem to just go for a strap the next lug size up(21mm in this case) and size them up with a craftie knife, eh?

edit: just had another look at the watch and I guess its got a very non-standard strap mounting design with the dial notched inwards for the last link to go in. Leather or other synthetic straps won't be a good option in this case to provide a satisfactory experience imo.

  • so this seiko runs on battery which needs changing right ?

  • I prefer quartz to automatic ….Accuracy over time, auto needs to be serviced after a few years to keep accuracy …

Omega auto service is $500, Rolex is $700 and the interval varies with model, 3-5 years.

For diving I have an evodrive so no battery to replace or pressure testing.

You'll still need to get the seals checked and lubricated periodically in the dive watch though right? For real diving I mean.

  • I have had 3 Seiko chronic over the past 12+ years and on each when I get the battery changed the chrono never works properly again. The seconds hand never goes back to zero on reser.

    • Interesting you said that. That's exactly what happened to mine.

I have a Seiko watch very similar, if not the same as this one, might be slightly different, haven't checked the specs or compared the pic to mine.
I do love this watch, I often wear it and choose it over some of the other 'fancier' watches I have.

So you actually calibrated it after the battery change?
