For me, it tends to end up being 6 for $6

    • +7

9 for $9 or basically a large cheeseburger meal with 2 extra burgers

      • +1

Seriously - Is there a limit?

        • +7

12 for $12 for me, but I'm eating for 3

        • +1

          @thefish:

          Triplets?

        • +6

          @nightelves:

          Twins

        • +11

          @m9:

Oh right forgot you have to eat as well.

        • +6

          @thefish: 24 for $24 for me i am eat for 6.

    • +6

      Tastes real to me.

    • +5

Nah we like because it pisses of the pretentious pricks.

    • +1

It goes down well with alternative facts.

    • I mean, it's cheap and not particularly high quality food, but I'm pretty sure it's real…

    • -1

clearly you haven't been to China

    • +1

      WOOHOO FAKE LUNCH TODAY

    • +1

Worked at Maccas a few years ago and I'm pretty sure we used real food…

  • +13

Oh this is dangerous. I now live much closer to a McDonalds than I did the last time this deal was on.

  • +8

But but I want it now :(

  • +4

    $3 for 3 + free 10 piece chicken McBites

    • What is this?

      • +4
        • +5

And 1 free medium drink if you're a student edge member

        • @18: They will not allow the free drink in combination with 3 for $3, at least when I tried last time when the promo was active.

        • @18:
Is it from $3 upwards or only OVER $3 ?

        • @master131: Oh what! Their reason?

        • @steveclassy2:

I've ordered $3 before and I've had no issues.

        • +1

          @steveclassy2:

          I'm guessing its this:

Cannot be used with any other offer.

  • -2

Asked for a small cheeseburger meal last timeand they charged me full price.

    • +7

Because it's not in their PoS as a 'small cheeseburger meal', it's in there as '3 for $3' and you have to ask for it as such.

      • +1

Well that is rubbish… It should automatically apply any valid deal!

    • +5

      Prove it.

    • +1

      You sir, are a twit

    • +1

      do you smoke crack?

  • +3

    Not confirmed for VIC.

As usual (time permitting) I decided to contact the Collingwood VIC head office and was told "There's no promotion like this planned for the immediate future."

    • +4

McDs jerks us all about with their specials, the start and end dates are hard to establish, the staff don't know, you basically have to go to the store on spec and then .. GOTCHA .. :-( .. !!

    • +1

      Can confirm this includes Victoria.

      • So Head Office lied to me? How can you 'confirm' this mate?

        • +4

Via the online employee portal that lets you know of upcoming launches in your state. Chances are whoever you spoke to at head office doesn't know about upcoming promos in their stores and is just a receptionist…

        • +2

@AusNugz: I was put through about 3 times, so the person I ended up speaking to was definitely not a receptionist. Maybe they were just spooked by my call and kept cards close to their chest. Transparency is best.

        • @rawm:

lol did you really call them 3 times?

        • @lostinsydney: Nah; multiple transfers. Lady A "Oh I'll put you onto Lady B etc…

        • No head office didn't want you to fast until the promo starts ….. Your comfort is their concern

  • +33

McDonald's needs more permanent cheap menu options. They're getting so expensive now.

    • +3

It's actually even worse than that. Iconic items like the Big Mac are waaaaaay smaller than they were 20 years ago.

      • +13

That's a myth; they were small to begin with. Plus, you now, you probably got bigger over 20 years ;)

        • +7

          Eats McDonalds for 20 years.
          Gets bigger.
          Coincidence?

        • +3

I don't know why you were negged. This is 100% true. People hear a false fact and immediately believe it's true

        • +1

@4agte: I'd like one of the people who downvoted me to come here right now and prove me wrong :)

        • +3

          @gokhanh:

and without quoting Facebook alternate facts 😀

        • I thought it was confirmed the bun shrunk to match the contents.

        • +1

Well people's mouths seem to have gotten bigger.

      • Small Mac

    • Consider ourselves lucky because Meccas in Hong Kong have recently taken Quarter Pounder and Angus range off the menu

      • It shouldn't be called Quarter Pounder anymore…the meat used to be much thicker and larger. It is now the size of cheeseburger with some extra stuffs.

    • +9

The burgers are better at Hungry Jacks.

      • not their cheeseburgers though

        • +8

Yeah they are bro… HJ puts sesame seeds on their cheeseburgers, the 'bread' has less sugar, the pickles are a bit thicker (or at least they SEEEEm to be because they're crinkle-cut), and the mustard is nicer.

Besides, HJ still has the 'shake and win' ap, which craps all over anything Maccas ever did, because it = regular free-food/drink if you live near a HJs.

          HJ roolz.

        • +4

@GnarlyKnuckles: but macca's have those impossibly tiny chopped onions ;)

agree that hj are more generous about deals and giveaways

        • @tdw: I belive they are dry onion flakes they rehydrate.

        • +1

They are fresh you can tell from texture also cheaper than dried ……they need fresh lettuce and tomatoes anyway and they have good supply chain

        • +1

@garage sale: No, the onions on the smaller burgers are not fresh. They literally are dried up flakes in packets and you have to add water to it.

      • Better at Burger Urge… I feel a burger war is coming.

        • +1

Better at in n out burger… cries one day I will eat it again

        • @Lunawinter: I thought they were just okay, no tears from me.

    • Yeah they are becoming greedy and slowly jacking up prices.

First it was Soft serves, then Dinner boxes

If their shoestring chips weren't so oily and shit, I might've jumped all over this 'deal'.

Hungry Jacks for me with endless vouchers and 50c Cones hey!

      • I just realised they removed every other dinner box and left us with a "McValue box" which is the $20 deal without nuggets and sauce WTF

Can anyone confirm any limit? Otherwise I'll be doing 15 for $15 dinner!

  • +2

imagine the saving we get if eating this for lunch and dinner for a month.
but probably spend more for doctors and medicines after

    • +20

This is just a snack for Ozbargainers.

Basically, it only provides enough energy to use a mouse scroll wheel.

    • +3

It's still a bargain with Medicare and no private cover. Woohoo!

  • May 10? I'd forget about it then. Dont eat Maccas much these days though. Good deal for those who do i guess.

    • +3

That's why OzBargain has a reminder function on each deal.

      • if im hungry, last thing I do is check ozbargain. Not usually anyway,

        • +1

And you call yourself bargain Ken?

  • +4

    may 10 feels…….so…..far…..away

    • +1

If you start running now, you might catch up

      • +4

        i need a TARDIS

  • +1

May 10th? Well, just enough time to "prepare" my body for it ;)

    • searching for a deal on stomach pumps?

  • Do we get szechuan sauce with this?

    • Those who negged this obviously do not watch Rick and Morty.

Yes. even the username checks out.

      • +1

I assumed the negs were for the low effort comment. OP isn't even about nuggets so it's just a loosely related reference to a trending topic.

        • Let's not analyse it to death over the next 9 seasons. I thought it was pretty funny.

  • +2

neg away because it's the wrong restaurant BUT with the Hungry Jacks coupons + free BBQ cheeseburger for feedback + 1 chance per device of getting a decent freebie on the app makes for a dangerously cheap feed if you live in range of a HJs : ) Yesterday I got a BBQ Cheesey, medium fries and small onion rings for $1. Tonight no freebies on the app (only got 2 devices :< ), if you tell staff you give them perfect feedback every time they're usually happy to keep the survey invite receipts coming. Okbye. Don't get fat.

    • sounds like you to need to win a Free Large Coke to make it a meal.

      • Come on it's a large DIET coke ;)

      • Yeah they sucker you on drinks with their deals …..bring my own.

  • What exchange the drink for?

    • water?

    • Rat poison…

    • Drink or drink not, there is no exchange.

    • Can I get ice cream

  • +2

    THIS STARTS TOMORROW!! WOOO!!

    • +3

      finally!

i'll be too excited to sleep

  • McD's HO has confirmed, starts May 10 Oz wide and it runs until month end May. Pass me my fat shorts .. :-) .. !!

    • +1

      Her names Michelle mate

  • +1

I went through the drive-through yesterday and got this, and again today, you all missed out on two extra days :P

  • +5

Gentlemen, today has come and today is the day our diets go out the window and our tents be pitched at McDonalds. WE WILL WIN THIS WAR!!!! ~vikings bashing on shields ensues~
