These were popular last time Tmart posted them and are now even cheaper. Fun way to learn as the lock is transparent so you can see what you're doing and how it works.

  • Cheers, OP, grabbed one.

  • A bit cheaper for something very similar at Deal Extreme:
    http://www.dx.com/p/mini-transparent-lock-9-lockpick-trainin…

    • But looks like a smaller practice lock.

      • True. They have quite a few options available on the site though.

Coupon Code: "gd5" for an extra 5% off

    • +3

Aw crap, already checked out before I saw this code :(

  • Always wanted to get a set but was relatively pricey. Will definitely get this, thanks OP!

  • +12

Use code GD5 - brings the price down 5%, to $11.75.
Edit: Sorry, saw this was a dupe of the comment above, please disregard.
Edit again: but I forgot cashback! That's ~ 4.8% gone… so remember to do both: cashrewards + GD5 coupon.

Good for office secret santa or similar.

Cheap wood box w/ clasp from Bunnings or craft store, mars bar or something silly inside, lock with these.

    • +4

      The keys.

      • +2

        To another box.

    • Hi Godric, this torch is good and it get 509 good reviews so far, was a STAR in the history of Tmart.

  • I should get one. I have an overwhelming fear of locking my front door and realizing my keys are still inside.

    • +5

Do you have a padlock on your front door?

      • +4

I got a set similar to this and within 30 mins of doing this padlock I tried all doors to my house and could unlock them with this lol

        • +3

I did this too - then immediately got paranoid about how easy it was to break in undetected. Broke into a cold sweat every time I thought I heard a noise coming from downstairs…

    • +14

Then you'll just have to deal with the fear of leaving your lock picks inside too.

      • +1

Well now I'm all sorts of screwed.

  • +19

any deals on ski masks too?

    • +1

Or at least a stripey shirt, eyemask, and a bag with SWAG written on it?

  • +1

Why does every product listed have 5 star rating on their website lol

    • +12

      Their mum rated it

      • +1

hi its me your mum. nice comment

      • Your mum rates me.

Unfortunately, she gave me a BB- and 'underperform' :/

    • +4

Maybe they delete bad reviews like Banggood?

  • +10

looks to be the same thing @ Banggood for $13.55?

    • Copped, thanks for the link

    • Thanks mate, bought this one instead!

      Cheers

    • Thanks. Bought. Up to 9% off from CR too.

  • Its back?

    • +1

  • thx just got one

  • +1

use code TM3 to get 3% off

  • Just ordered 1 now at AU$11.75 with "gd5" promo code. thanks

  • Here is a video of it, this one is different but they are all basically the same design etc. this guy doesn't really recommend the lock for learning though. but it's really interesting to learn how the mechanism within the lock works

  • +1

can you use this as a a normal padlock too?

    • +8

Yeah, just put duct tape around it so people can't see how to pick it.

    • +7

In the form of a deterrent yes….but if someone wanted to break into your whatever regardless s/he would be in within 20 seconds. probably be able to smash it at an angle and it would dislodge or crack open. that is why plastic locks haven't really taken off

  • +1

Thanks OP, this would make a great gift!

  • +1

    Sigh…I didn't need this…but I bought it anyway…and 3 x torches too!

  • Can you pick doors with this kit? Would like to try my front door ;)

    • +12

you can pick what you want… i have been picking my nose since i can remember

    • Yes, any type of pin tumbler lock.

2 great channel to open a new world for you.

    Super useful.

    • thanks! do you have a channel or website i might find useful?

    • Been watching locklab/bosnianbill on youtube for a long time now. The Master locks (junk!) videos alone make the channel worth subscribing to.

Probably worth watching his review videos before jumping out and buying a practice lock with picks. He definitely seems to have something against clear plastic practice locks.

Doing checkout with Paypal, where do I enter the coupon code ?

Once I log-into Paypal, it goes to 'Pay Now'

    • I was wondering the same thing… no place to enter code

    • +4

Continue the payment process. After PayPal it takes you back to TMART to confirm your order. Enter the coupon there.

    • Go through the standard checkout, enter the coupon and select paypal as payment type. I just got one for $11.75 using gd5.

    • You enter the code before you get to the paypal screen

  • Got mine

  • Question is what delivery time we looking at 4-6weeks?

    • Yeah 4-6 weeks.

  • +1

    Got mine

  • +1

Mine arrived yesterday too….no instructions though on what to do.
Have no problem picking my nose but this is on another level ;-)

  • +1

I'd forgotten about this and then they arrived today. As others have asked if anyone finds a good tutorial please link it

    found this one : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tn8vECgvLMM

  • Finally got mine last night, so that was a full month since first posting the deal.

The clear lock itself is quite loose, and despite zero experience at picking I managed to open it in a matter of minutes. Third try was a matter of seconds. Trying on an average padlock means I'm still working away…

    Probably should learn now.
