Using a LG similar model but higher 1300D. Can recommend.
Have had an LG that we purchased second hand over 2 years ago and it's excellent, their 10 year motor guarantee is piece of mind.
The motor will last ten years, no worries about that. It's the tub bearings and spider which give up on front loaders and they aren't anything to do with the motor. If either of those go outside of the one year warranty or whatever they have, you can't get the manufacturer to repair under consumer Law out do it yourself, an appliance repairer will charge close to what a new machine like this LG would cost.
Washing machines are slowly becoming consumables and pretty much every brand is going that way. They may go for ten or twenty years if looked after - don't use softener, do the machine cleaning cycle regularly….
Got an LG front load, been using for a few years and no issues. Pretty long cycles (standard "cotton" is over 2 hours) is one thing people complain about but doesn't bother me.

Bought yesterday from appliances online ($600 on their site) and they price matched to HN at $540. Just called them up and they will refund me the difference to bring it down to $449 :)
Does Samsung use Direct Drive technology similar to LG? Or belts like other conventional washers?

Another vote for LG. I got the same model from HN end of last year taking advantage of the AMEX rebate then but still not as cheap as this deal. I would stay away trom Samsung not just because of the fire hazard fault identified in its topload models, but because of its way of handling safety concerns. They just told lies in denying any safety cocerns (both in Australia and Hong Kong) so you may not be informed even if they know they have placed a potential bomb in your home sweet home. They just don't care!
Would they actually deliver it into the laundry, or just kind of to the front door? Have never installed a washing machine, it has to be balance and all that. Is it just a matter of booking up the water hoses and balancing?
