    Is it US only?
Or you unsure but you still just posted it on OzB?

    • Could very well be available in Australia. I have a US Audible Account (which I've had before Audible 'opened' in Australia), I'm sure other OzBarginers would have too. AJ

      • Could very well

so is it or isnt it?
there's no mention of 50% on the audible page.

        • Yeah. No mention of it on the US homepage either - until you login.

I'm having difficulties logging into the AU site (despite resetting the password) - perhaps it's/I'm confused with my US credentials…

Perhaps someone can login with their AU Audible account then we'll all know for sure..

      • Plenty of people use Audible US over Australia. The selection in the US store is way better than AU.

  • Doesn't look like it is available in Australia.

The 50% off sale at Audible typically isn't very good. You need to be a member, and members already get a 30% discount on normal purchases, so instead of paying $21 for a title that has a RRP of $30 you'd be paying $15. However this is the max price for a credit, so you'd usually just buy more credits to purchase these titles. Credits can also be purchased cheaper in bulk, and many books are available through Amazon's Whispersync program for well below this price. Also credits at audible.com.au are AUD15 instead of USD15 so you're better of getting titles there if they're available.

So the only titles this is beneficial for are:
    - RRP below USD$30
    - RRP below USD$22.9 if they are otherwise available at audible.com.au
    - Whispersync price (ebook + audiobook) above discounted price

There are also regularly much better sales like the recent "1st book in a series sale" where most titles were USD$5-$6 (or was this on .com.au - I can't recall).

If you find any good books that are still cheaper, I'd suggest posting them here so others can benefit too.

Edit might be a good chance to pick up Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them which has a RRP of USD$15 - should come down to around AUD$9.80 (which is still fairly expensive for a 1hr40 title, but about the best it's going to get)

  • Unfortunately it doesn't work on my Listener Light ($US10pa with no credits) membership.

    • How did you get on a Listener Light plan?

      • It's one of the options when you cancel your membership.

It's not too bad. You do get access to the major sales (but not this one) and also the daily deals.
