ORICO DSP-4U 4-Port USB Wall Charger - US $15 (~AU $19.88) + Postage @ Zapals

30

Spotted another pretty good deal. It's not as cheap as the Xiaomi 4 Port Wall charger but, it has a better output rate "it states 5V/2.4A output of each USB port"
and really good for travelers looking for a cost effective and safe wall charger, or just another fellow ozbargainer wanting to charge there stock pile of power banks :D The Wall charger comes with interchangeable CN,UK,UE and AUS Plugs.

Orico is also a pretty reputable and quality Chinese brand on par with Xiaomi in my opinion. But unlike xiaomi they do sell they're products in the Australian market.

  • Says $19.88 for me..

    • Says US$15 if USD is set as the currency. Maybe a mistake by the OP?

    • Hi my apologies its my 2nd post xD sorry for the mistake. I fixed it up now

each port can output 2.4a each USB port simultaneously

Sorry OP, that would make it a 48-watt power supply. Lower on the page it says "5V/2.4A x 4, 34W Max", and the "34W max" means it can't do all four ports at 2.4A at the same time. Two ports yes, with the third port maybe 2.0A, fourth port nothing.

Given the size and weight, I have my doubts about continuous operation close to the 34W mark. For this type of device, typical efficiency is 80%, so at 34W output it will be generating 8.5W of heat. That's a lot of heat for a small box to get rid of.

    • Hi sorry maybe I misunderstood or misread the description on there page. they stated "2.4A Output with Intelligent Identification

5V/2.4A output of each USB port achieve fast charging; and it supports intelligent identification"

My bad I amended my description to match what is on the site more accurately.

    • the idea of the ports is you plug all devices in before bed and ready in the morning ….. if you need to charge a device quick don't plug devices into all ports………… and it gets the full 2.4 amps ….. with so many usb devices , even led table lamps the number of ports becomes the feature. if you want to run all, ports at max at the same time you need to look at the 50w or 90w chargers ….all a trade off.

  • Are these legal to use in Australia?

Legal? They are not Australian standards.

    • I don't see why it would be illegal. Orico does sell in Australia as well. It would be a big failure on there behalf for a fairly decent brand
if they created a travel adapter that's not certificated for each of the various countries, plugs they provided in the box.
I'm no expert just my opinion.

Are these legal to use in Australia?

      Why would they not be?

Regulations usually restrict what can be sold, not used.

Are people aware that shoppingsquare.com.au is a division of Zapals Tech Corp, aka Apus Corp?
I say this as shoppingsquare had a not great reputation here in the past.

    • Shoppingsquare isnt all too bad. Granted they dropship but people always compare them to ShoppingExpress which has better service given its all local stock. Its mainly people's expectations of dealing with a seemingly Australian Company, but taking 3-4 weeks or longer to dropship it in that is the frustrating point.
