Saw this at my local Bunnings. I am not sure if this is a nation wide clearance but I think it's a very good deal. Unless other think the product is not worth it.

shows as $55 on website
Yes, but it's clearance in store.
okay, so it is mandatory to actually go physically in store and pay for the item is that correct? there is no way to order it online and get the discounted $20 price?
Thanks.
$20 at Rosebud and Morningron
Just at Mornington and it was $55 and staff said this was the special price. Can also confirm this issue at Clyde North.
They did have a brick which was similar to this without the wireless charging at $20
Went to Chadstone and Nottinghill. $55
Staff explicitly said no to $20 and that any clearance prices are store specific.
Is the cord pictured at the back of the photos removable? I.e. is it a figure 8 plug that I can use overseas figure 8 plugs when I can travel outside Oz?
Is the cord pictured at the back of the photos removable?
Probably not, that would add unnecessary cost
Thanks
Can confirm AU power supply cord is fixed and not removable
The fourth image on the Bunning website says "Discard if the supply cord is damaged", which might imply that the cord is permanently attached to the charger.
Thanks
$20 in Springvale bunnings
I was here and they declined this price for me, anyone got any receipts?
Did anyone measure power consumption of this device if nothing attached ? I suspect that it may feed USB as always on, if not designed properly.
What consumes the power when there is no load applied to complete the circuit?
Internal electronics which just sit there and heat up (good for winter maybe)
Not quite how electricity behaves if you're saying that it's somehow any difference to a more expensive solution with an LED light on the charger that is heating up the components to display the light. Is that considered "not designed properly"? I'm sure Baseus and UGreen would beg to differ
@parad0x: This is how it behaves even without electronics if not soldered properly. Electronics maybe just cheap and have protection with high resistance and cause heat, as mentioned above.
@Ozzster: Without electronics? So what is soldered incorrectly if there's no electronics?
Id love for you to show me a single "bad" solder on a commercial product manufactured in the last 25yrs.
High resistance does not equal high heat … Where are you getting your apparent knowledge from exactly?@parad0x: Oh, would you like to guarantee that made-in-China stuff is suddenly all got good quality?
It may be bad even without soldering https://www.reddit.com/r/electrical/comments/1azxifi/bad_out…
@Ozzster: Newsflash 90% of the world's electronics are made in China.
That is a power outlet. Which had a high current device plugged in. How is any of that relevant to the current topic exactly?
@parad0x: We are discussing a device with 3 power outlets, FYI.
High resistance in protection circuit of a device carrying kilowatts does equal heat. And the USBPD generating 67W also may get both non-efficient conversion heat and just standby heat.
@Ozzster: And your issue is regarding the USB ports. Therefore a random photo of a burnt out power outlet is evidence of what? Poor electrical workmanship. There's a reason why this happens in countries who deem it acceptable to perform DIY mains electrical work.
High resistance in protection circuit of a device carrying kilowatts
Disregarding the fact you've just thrown a sentence together that doesn't make sense,.does your USB use kilowatts?
Please, do tell me what exactly you deem non-efficient conversion.
And what do these two definitions you've named have to do with "proper design".Instead of talking in roundabouts because you don't have a clue, put some facts down. Stop assuming you know what you are talking about.
Your original comment told me precisely how much electrical knowledge you
@parad0x: Poor electrical workmanship? How it can bee good if the socket itself is not contacting the plug properly, causing resistance, heat, and so on?
I would reread it again if it makes not enough sense to you. Don't miss dots, they split sentences and senses.
I missed your answer where you agreed to guarantee quality on made-in-China devices. Could you not forget your own words, please?
@parad0x: I'm waiting for your contacts to send you all those "commercial product manufactured in the last 25yrs" to show you and get refund, because you know better that all of them are of good quality. Unlike official investigations reporting issues https://www.electricalsafetyfirst.org.uk/professional-resour… Or, is it from another country with wrong regulations and DIY?

Wow you need to read a dictionary on the term 'efficiency'
You have power input and a desired power output. When the two don't match up, these 'losses' are usually heat and can be quite significant. The ratio of desired power out / power input is efficiency.
Some people call this 'idle consumption', which is accurate for what it is and lower idle consumption is always desired (unless again like I said, you want the heat for whatever reason)
USB and wireless chargers will always consume some power when nothing is connected
Exactly my point. But they're "not properly designed" we've been informed
Did anyone measure power consumption of this device if nothing attached ? I suspect that it may feed USB as always on, if not designed properly.
i presume it is very little when idle. switch mode power supplies are very efficient nowadays and go in a low power mode when the usb is not connected. even a modern wireless phone charging output is smart, able to detect the presence of a phone capable of being charged
Assumption is not equal to fact.
Assumption is not equal to presumption.
Presumption however can, for all intents and purposes, generally be considered fact.
Quick question:
- does this device use either an IEC C7 (figure-8) or an IEC C13 (“kettle cord”) for power?I’m asking because those types of cords are super easy to replace when moving between countries.
So for people like digital nomads, they can just pick up a local version with the right plug for a few dollarydoos, instead of carrying adapters or converters. There is some discussion of that here
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/911784It's also not rated for global voltages.
Cheers for the info
Just visited the Springvale site. They’re not offering any official discounts, but I spoke with a very friendly staff who knows about the bargain and is willing to offer it to me for $20 each. Not sure if other staff would do the same.
To find the items: enter the store, turn right (don’t go into the section with columns), and you’ll see a large stock available there.
I just got rejected this price, anyone got receipts?
rejected from which store?
Springvale, did @Chrisssss get a name for this employee who was willing to honour the price?
Just had a look in store and there was one similar without the wireless charging for $20
55 at ringwood, plenty of stock
The ones in Ringwood are NOT on clearance, in case your wondering. $55 is the normal price.
yep - was just sharing incase people were also thinking about going to check for prices, just saving those a trip
Is this $20 clearence everywhere?
Should mark as expired. Tried in Doncaster - not $20
It's still there in some stores so should not be marked as expired because people can still buy it through some stores.
$55 at Doncaster
$55 at Altona
Mix up in Adelaide. For $18 available the same without wireless, but stock shows it as the wireless one.
anyone know if its 20$ at any perth stores??
$55 at Robina
$55 at Chadstone. Staff said the reduced price is only valid in stores with stock of less than 5
Definitely not a thing in ACT Belconnen store. Rung up at $55.
thanks. i picked up a few. seem to be similar but without the wireless charger
At $10 they are pretty good value I think. Hopefully the other Bunnings locations bring them down the same.
Dayum, that's a steal! Well done!
If you don't want the wireless charger, the 67w GaN compact 1-outlet power cube, and the larger 67w 3-outlet power cube are also on clearance at Bunnings Preston (VIC), at $20 and $18 respectively.
Now 10 at Preston
Yep, I just grabbed a few
hold out until $5 :)
i'm going to return my $10 purchases
they seem reasonably well built, at least better than a random chinese one. a fixed 3x1.0mm2 mains power cable is used since they have 10A mains outlets. the 3 outlet desktop one is better for a desktop with a circuit breaker and soft on/off button (isolated by 2 relays on active & neutral). the compact one is easier to carry around, although the fixed power cable is a bit bulky. the compact one doesn't appear to have any circuit breaker or on/off switch
for $5-$10 they are a bargain
Stock levels with local pricing - note that it's not always accurate.
