    Oh dear…….

  • +6

Dude…… not only is it illegal to use anzac day for sales purposes…. it's offensive as hell.

  • +4

Lest we forget saffron……. Thanks to our brave boys, the price has dropped 75c…..

  • +7

    Has Capitalism gone too far??

  • +5

Seriously? Capitalsing on ANZAC day? Poor form.

  • +5

And the Selling out soon legacy lives on :(

Penalties for the misuse of the word 'Anzac'
For serious breaches of the Act, a penalty of up to 12-months imprisonment may apply. Under the Crimes Act 1914, a penalty of up to $10,200 for a natural person and $51,000 for a body corporate may be imposed by the Court, instead of imprisonment.

I can't seem to find the bit about profits being donated to veterans charities……. Surely that would be the only possible reason for an 'ANZAC Day' sale?

  • +5

    One word.. inappropriate!

  • -2

Thank you OzBargain moderator for fixing the deal. Saffron Store respects Anzac and the brave soldiers of Australia.

    • +1

I think you should have done this another day mate, especially given a lot of the soldiers we are honoring today fought in the middle east.

Maybe do some research into the market you are trying to address, as this would be the same as offering a turkish delight sale on anzac day…

  • +2

    Better deals on eBay.
OP continually uses ozbargain for advertising.
    FAIL!

    • -2

well of course they use ozbargain for advertising, it's a (profanity) bargain website.

  • +4

Dodgy store. Dodgy deal. Dodgy use of the word Anzac.

  • +2

Now we know how Pepsi felt after releasing that Kendall Jenner ad.
Guys we had no intention to hurt or misuse Anzac. As the citizens of this nation, we respect what Australia stands for and always pay tribute to those who have fallen for us. If anyone understands war, it'd be me cause I have grown up in a few, living in Turkey and Iran.
On behalf of Saffron Store we sinscerely apologies for any misunderstanding that this post may have caused.

    • +4

We get it mate and we understand what you've been through, you will find many of us here on ozb have served as well.

We appreciate you apologizing and removing the anzac mentions, but I would recommend you might want to save your deal for another day.

Middle eastern saffron on a day like today when the shops are closed out of respect, it's kind of like the time a store decided to sell half price turkish delight online with the code Gallipioli….. or when they setup a DJ at anzac cove and played staying alive by the beegees.

Some are poor taste, and others are timing, if you didnt do it intentionally or you are seeing now it is in bad taste, i'd recommend you maybe freeze this until tomorrow mate.

We appreciate you … removing the anzac mentions

Mentions of ANZAC were removed by Moderators, not Store Rep OP.
