Not very sure about this S8 version..probably the S8 6 GB ram would be out in the rest of the world too..

    • -1

Phones don't need 6gb ram at the moment. That's such an overkill. 4gb is more than enough.

      • +5

Not in this case. The S8 with DeX can be used as a Pc and more ram you have better would be.

        • Dam a mobile phone as a pc, we have come so far nokia…….

    • +2

I hope you are not reading 12 GB as RAM for this phone and rest of the world has 6 GB. It is in plan.

  • If you use lot of data, I will say it is a good value like $65/69 plan advertised earlier. Additional 7 GB data for $22 which seems a little steep, but good taken it is not dual sim.

I don't think it's a good deal. Considering the phone is $1200 outright (regular price for non +) and you can pick up that phone plan on optus with 12gb data, etc. for $40 per month, so 24 months of that equals $480, ∴ $1,200 + $480 = $1,680 whereas this plan is $2,088. Can still save money on the cheaper price by finding cheaper outlets, rather than paying rrp, and getting a student discount with optus.

    • +3

      24 x $40 = $960??

      • +2

        whoops…

        • unless you have connections within Optus that entitles you to 50% discount that we don't? LOL

        • @ykwon10: The optus plan is 12 months long, that's where I made the mistake.

But still, if you shop around, it can still be cheaper to buy outright, just not that much.

        • +1

@sd4f: Not really sure if you can beat this plan by buying outright. There's also the $120 cashback which brings this plan down to $1968. Pretty good deal in my opinion for the phone + unlimited calls/texts and 12GB data.

Even if you somehow find a good SIM only plan for $30/month, over 2 years the total would come to $1919 which is $49 cheaper than this plan. But then you have to pay the $1199 outright price up front rather than split it up over 24 months like with this plan.

        • +1

@alwaysupforabargain: If you get a better price for the phone, then yea, it can be cheaper in total. Can't do much about the split months, but going through the cheaper prices, mobileciti had the S8 for $1050 for australian variant, while grey imports I've seen for $960. Then if you can get the student discount on the optus plan that's $36 per month, so $1,824 - $1,914. Not sure how cash rewards works, so haven't included it. Bottom line is it's marginal, and lots of ifs to get it, but hey, this is ozbargain.

        • @sd4f: Yeah I see your point there. There's bound to be a way to get it cheaper through OzBargain!

  • Can anyone confirm or deny if afl live pass is still data free on the woolworths mobile, seeing as they use telstra network? I'll jump on this plan if it is.

    • You don't get Telstra customer benefits for been on Telstra network, that's why those plans are cheaper.

      • Worth a shot, thanks mate

  • Generally how does the network fares between this woolies using telstra compared to optus?

Anyone knows the stock level for samsung s8+ .. is it like backorder for a while?

  • Can i get Cashback twice if I buy two handsets?

  • would anyone know if music streaming is data-free like the optus deal ? cheers.

  • Additional 2GB data now offered by Woolworths for Medium plan.

  • Has anyone received their first bill? Is it double the amount? Also data shows 4 GB and not 5 (from the $69 deal).
