Seagate 2TB Backup Plus Slim Portable Hard Drive - $88 at Officeworks In-Store, Delivered and C&C ($83.60 Via eBay)

2070
C5AUS

This is the Slim version which usually costs a little more than the normal sized version (which is $118).
Normal OW Price fro the 2TB Slim is $128

$88 is the lowest I've seen the Slim versions at 2TB (other than some of the better eBay voucher/code/deals).

Only in black - the other colours are $128.

Seems to be plenty of stock for C&C and delivery (usually free except for regional).

I've just ordered a few to solve some storage issues..!

Enjoy!

EDIT: eBay doesn't seem to be restocking since ~4am this morning, however still possibly available from Officeworks.
There seems to be lots of stores still showing in-store and stock.
Also possibly still available for Delivery and C&C in some stores/states depending on what store you have set as your store.

    • eBay one seems to be out of stock for me..?

      • +1

Looks like it just sold out on eBay - 9 units were sold.

        • It did LOL. For me it said 91 sold.

"Please enter a quantity of 0 or less"

  • Great find, thanks

  • Out of stock?

    • Looks like it's gone. No pricing info on the discounted one and you can't add to cart.

      • Sold out on eBay, but still available on Officeworks - see main link to OW page

        • I was talking about OW.com, it's working now though.

    • In stock at Officeworks

  • out of stock at officeworks online

    • Strange - I just checked and it is showing as available for Delivery for me as well as quick check on stores in 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000, 8000 have most showing availability in store.

      • said sold out for me

        • what is your store set as?

        • @drmac:

you have to press check out.

          Punchbowl NSW

        • @Sortale: Yeah, I just realised that - i checked for 2000 as well and same issue. Still fully works for Melbourne and I'm assuming others. Sorry..!

        • @drmac:

somehow ebay order still work, nothing to be sorry about

        • @Sortale: Brilliant - glad you got one

    Just got one through eBay.

Bit convoluted, but I remembered from past deals that if you click the quantity remaining, then click the link to the listing, and retry that a few times, somehow you can get to a page that lets you order.

Give it a go … save 5% and possibly get another 1.3% cashback.

Order was $83.60 with free delivery. Should get another $1.14 back from cashrewards.

Edit: I actually think they just updated the listing. Reloaded and there are still 7 left. It said 9 when I ordered

    • nice, got one

Man ordered two of these from Amazon about 6 hours ago, I have a knack for buying stuff right before a deal appears on it. Got the cancellation though, nice find

    • and gone again …

You can get a 3TB Toshiba Canvio 3TB for $139 which is almost the same price per TB compared to this one. Is this one better in any way? I plan to use it for my PS4.

    • Wondering if this is better too. Does slimmer mean less platters, and less platters mean higher density = SMR?

      • Correct on the less platters. Non-slim uses the thicker HDD.

    • There has been a few complaints of the Toshiba HDD going into sleep mode quickly.

    • I bought 2 of these, one for the ps4 and one for the xbox one. Both work fine and I don't notice any issues with loading games etc.

  • Nice to see high storage amounts in a slim chassis going down. I bought 2 of these back upon release for about $200 per unit.

  • Zero available 111 sold now waiting for restock

  • out of stock in store? i think you can get them in store for $88

  • Can confirm in store $88. Store I selected online said out of stock, had ~5 of the units in store behind the counter. Worth calling your local store.

  • Yes correct I just got 2 from the mornington Vic store for $88 and he has 3 left.

  • Just bought one from Dee Why for $88.

  • Thanks OP. Just bought two from the Punchbowl store. There were 4 left at 9:30am

eBay doesn't seem to be restocking since ~4am this morning, however with getting it direct from Officeworks, there seems to be lots of stores still showing stock.
Also still available for Delivery and C&C in some states depending on what store you have set as your store.

  • Great bargain, however be warned seagate has a terrible reputation for most of the drives failing pretty quickly. So I would advise against getting this if you plan on storing anything important on it :).

    • As a person in the IT industry, I've found Seagate HDDs to be pretty reliable, however I've experienced high failures of Western Digital drives. It really depends who you talk to.

For the record, this particular external drive uses Samsung Spinpoint HDD's, not Seagate's.

  • Bought the 1TB on Officeworks eBay store with the 5% off, then returned for a full $88 refund in store and bought the 2TB in store with the refund. Glebe store only have a few left.

  • Cheap for a 9.5mm drive

    • seagate ST2000LM015 2tb 7mm alone cost 130

      this is a bargain

  • Just about to go pick one up at a metro store in SA. 6 left in that store.

  • Maroochydore store has gone from having stock on their website to "call to confirm", looks like a lot of people are taking advantage of the price. Might just end up ordering via click and collect.

  • thanks op. Got the last one from Blacktown

  • Ok, got one for me! Thanks op. Bargain.

Bought one using C+C in Sydney, it said "temporarily out of stock, please remove from cart" at checkout page but still let me check out. Just got a text saying it was ready for pickup. Thanks!

    • Same joy here, Keswick SA (flagged as out of stock) but ordered C+C anyway - order was confirmed and just got the come-and-gettit text

    • Did the same for Chatswood store. No luck !!! Did not get a sms

  • Picked one up around 12pm from Fyshwick, ACT. They had two left but they're probably gone as they sold a couple before me

Sold out at my local, but rolled the dice and went to TGG and they price matched ;-) BANG!

  • Missed it!

  • +2

Bought one today for $88 at JB hifi. They price matched it.

  • I should grab one and replace my original PS4 HDD ..

  • Chadstone JB pricematched it.

    • Castle Towers JB said the best they can do is $125. It was a tempting offer.

Guys, if your using this for the Playstation 4, a lot of these drives, 2TB seagate slim and non slim (seagate expansion) versions are the exact same drive inside, they are the samsung seagate spinpoint … works very well in the Playstation 4. I have opened up both slim and seagate expansion 2tb, both the same drive inside.

  • guys did anyone screen capture officeworks website when it was $88? wanna use that for pricematch :<

    • I have but not sure how to load it

      • imgur.com

then link to the upload page here.

Would be much appreciated if you could do that!

        • +2

Hope this works for you guys

        • @urbancartel: Yep, it works. Much appreciated mate!

        • @urbancartel:

Will it work? Because it's a screen shot not the actual website

        • @urbancartel: thanks mate this screenshot save me $$$$.

        • @Bearosaurus: yes, that's how you price match. however most retailer doesn't price match ebay/sale/clearence item. I showed one of the staff in JB Hifi Canberra the price listed on OW's ebay, she says they don't compare ebay price hence i asked for the screenshot from OW website :)

  • I tried on-line yesterday and got the "Out of stock" message. Officeworks 'kindly' offered a more expensive alternative, but I ordered what I wanted anyway. I was expecting my order to be cancelled, but early this morning received the pay-and-collect email from them!

  • Not seeing samsungs in these - only seagates

  • same thing as seagate Expansion 2tb hav to mention

Received eBay message from OW that my order was cancelled. Refunded.

Thankyou for your order, I have been advised that your order will be cancelled due to incorrect price match

Anyone got your eBay order cancelled?

    • I got one.

      • You were lucky! I couldn't get to officeworks until today so they'd obviously decided not to honour the price.

        • Sorry, I meant my order was cancelled. All I got was the cancellation email. :(

  • Went to pick up and they said there was an error and refunded

  • +1

    Got cancelled as well.

Just contacted ebay, because I use a voucher to pay for the item, so I have to contact ebay to manually credit the voucher value, also suggested by ebay to report offficeworks via the link below.

    https://ocsnext.ebay.com.au/ocs/cusr?query=1482&levelHierarc…

    • Thanks.. I too was looking at how to report them. Thanks for the link. Will do.

  • Thankyou for your order xxxxxxxxxxxx the Seagate 2TB hard drive is currently on back order stock is expected after 08.05.2017 once the stock arrives at the warehouse the order will be picked for delivery to you.

  • OW bloody well refunded me as they don't have the stock! Didn't even get the choice to wait!

I ordered via OW site (not ebay).

    • Thankyou for your order, I have now been advised from this morning, there was a pricing mistake made for the 2TB hard drive where the 1TB price was applied to the 2TB product. Unfortunately, this means all orders for this product have been cancelled and refunded.

We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused
