That's the new one we are upgrading too, the current one is this…

        • @tuzii:
The Samsung 172x LCD marked the decline of the Trinitrons with its wicked 12ms RT.

        • @tuzii: Sony Trinitron, they were awesome!

  • There's a 4k 144Hz Acer monitor coming soon, if you're paying premium I'd consider holding out for it.

    • Also need the 1080ti to actually run it

      • +2

Even that isn't enough. I'd want at least two 1080 Ti cards if I'm trying to drive 4K 144Hz.

        • That 4k 144Hz from Acer (and Asus) are both coming Q3 or might even be Q4 and by then the Nvidia 2080 series will be out, so it should drive it OK with a single card and it's good timing, both the card and the next-gen monitor coming out at the same time. I am waiting for it myself.

Many games won't scale properly with SLI these days, from a recent thing I read.

        • @zan5hin: Yeah, it depends on the game as to how well it scales, and I agree a single card solution is much better. Basically what I'm saying is that I don't believe the graphics hardware isn't there to support 4K 144Hz atm unless you're willing to accept the compromises of SLi, so I wouldn't be buying a 4K 144Hz monitor now.

    • 4K? That old hat res? 8K is where it's at.

    • 3440x1440 144Hz is here.

      • Pointless with current gen hardware
Unless you've got cash to burn 1440p 144hz is more than enough, also most people wouldn't know the difference once you go past 100hz

Professional and esports gamers would know the difference and only anyone serious about gaming needs 144hz and above

    • +1

I'd say people buying this monitor wouldn't be in the mindset of buying the 4k 144Hz one. The price difference between the stepping stone X34 Predator is already a huge jump by a few hundred dollars, and I'd imagine the 4k one would be a few hundred more. This is like a deal for a GTX1070 and telling someone to wait until the GTX1080Ti comes out.

      • Noticed that MSY is discounting the x34 at $1299?

Is there something wrong with it?

        • Yeh… too expensive :P

Nothing wrong with the monitor. People will pay for it if they want it or think that it's worth it.

        • That's the usual discount price everywhere.

    • $800 for this monitor. $2000USD for the 4k 144hz. That acer is a different beast completely.

  • will this one works well with ps4 pro?

    • +1

No it will not run the full length. You'll have black bars on the side.

  • Not sure where the market is for this monitor. Everything would look horendously pixellated on a 1080p screen that size.

    • Not really
1080p at 27 inch is quite fine
I think people nitpick too much
Obviously 1440p is better but I can live with 1080p resolution

  • If you have the right hardware, what current games are supported and looks amazing in 4K?

  • Went to MSY Clayton lined up ten minutes early waited for the guy to find the password for the point of sale system, lugged the monitor out, went up to $939 couldn't find the deal on this system told me to come back later. You make cheaper price MSY or I call police right now!
