  • Can anyone confirm if the promo code at checkout activates the 2 gb data or being tracked going through cash rewards? Just worried that the latter is prone to not tracking at times and I'd be worried about missing the 2 gb data rather than a 20 buck cash reward……

    Assumedly Woolies and telstra offer no netflix. Spotify or any other free steaming?

  • Can someone explain the network piggybacking: why does woolies coverage if using telstra not offer the same speeds and coverage?

    Conversely is my current amaysim therefore running at below optus coverage and speeds? Would Virgin also similarly result in differing network quality than using the same phone direct via optus? Only asking because of the virgin 17 gb offer on ending tn.

    • Put simply, Woolworths Mobile runs from the Telstra 'wholesale' network, and Telstra needs to give people an incentive to spend more and go with them for the added regional coverage. From memory, Amaysim (and all Optus-based MVNO's) should offer the same coverage. Not 100% sure on speeds though.

  • Can anyone comment on woolies mobile plans whether you can add 1 gb data packs or more if the 6GB isn't enough?

    • From memory it's $10 for every GB you add on if you require more data.

      I was advised that the Galaxy S8 plus in midnight black has sold out. Three weeks before new stock arrives.

      • Whew! Good thing I put my order in last night. Mistakenly thought expiry was midnight last night, when it's actually 11.55pm tonight. Hope I don't regret the choice of black. Guess it shouldn't matter since it'll either be in a case or with scratch protective covering.

    Ordered the S8+ in the evening of the 02/05 and the phone was delivered yesterday 04/05 just after 1pm.

    Cant believe how fast it all happened!

    Phone is fantastic and looks great. The wife is very happy.

      Having no credit cards makes credit checking easier to be declined. You have no credit history. You might be a good borrower, you might be bad. They have no way of knowing whether they can trust you. It's a shot in the dark, and they chose not to risk it.

      How was she intending to be billed btw?

    • My wife has no c/c ang got declined as well…

    • Having a credit card and usage history establishes a credit history. No such records mean there is little basis to determine a positive result during a credit check. Your bank balance history doesnt form part of your credit history, so the regular deposits into it have no impact.

  • Anyone know how to change the lockscreen clock? Not the Always on Display, but just the lock screen. It uses the same funky clock that Sony phones love, with hour displayed ABOVE the minutes.

    Also, what is the purpose of the left edge? I can see the right edge has a minor function of bringing up some shortcuts, but what can you do with the left edge of the screen?

    One thing I notice in cashrewards offer, it mentions Woolworths Mobile Medium (8GB). As far as I know, 8GB is part of Woolworths Mobile Large plan.

  • Question for someone already on a woolworths plan - I got the mobile and activated, then asked them for a tax invoice for my initial payment. They say that they only send out a bill invoice, not a tax invoice. what do they mean by bill invoice? Do you get a regular looking invoice every month with your charges itemised?
