  • That's a good price. I'd buy it if I didn't already have a Lattissima+.

  • +1

This is far superior to getting that silly combo thing where you have one machine for pods and one for milk. The aerochino thing is a nightmare and just burns milk to the bottom and can't make two drinks with any kind of pace.

Whereas this performs really well, it's even safe to put the milk compartment in the dishwasher, or the fridge if you want to leave it half full of milk.

The price point on this is fine, I mean it is nothing to go crazy over, but if you have been on the fence I can recommend this :)

    • Strangely, when you go to a Nespresso boutique and they make coffee for you, they use Aeroccinos instead of integrated machines.

  • Any significant improvement over the latissima plus? Or just touch buttons?

    • There are 6 buttons as opposed to 4.

You have an extra button for Ristretto and a button for milk + froth without coffee. This is invaluable because otherwise I don't know how to make a Lungo with milk.

I have the plus, and if you choose Latte or Cappuccino, it will always pour 40ml (Espresso) into your cup, even if you have a Lungo capsule. There's no way to get Lungo with milk. And since you can't press a button for milk only, you can't use Lungo with milk.

The new ristretto button also makes Ristretto pods useable.

      • You can set your buttons, I had the top button do a lungo and bottom do a latte. You just hold the button when making it like this… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4oOJZyxAfo

Obviously this is no good if you want more than two settings though.

        • You can do that. But then I'd have to reprogram it back everytime I want the default settings.

You can also manually hold down the button to get the amount you want. But I can't measure exactly 110ml.

This is a definite improvement over the Plus. It's only a question of whether that improvement justifies the premium. For me it would, if I didn't already have a Plus. I can't justify buying a new machine though.

        • @lostn: Thanks for the detailed response. I have a Plus with a busted milk frother so deciding whether to get another Plus, a Touch or a Creatista. Another Plus is the cheapest option and I've been happy with it over 4-5 years of daily use.

        • @myfeetarehappy: Can't you purchase a replacement milk frother? Have you tried contacting Nespresso?

I would find out if the Touch uses the same milk frother unit as the Plus. If it does, I'd get a Touch, because then you'd still be able to use your Plus if you shared the frother, but you would have two different devices, one better than the other but both still working. If you buy another Plus you're just getting the same unit again, but a Touch is an upgrade that depending on your use cases can be worth paying a bit extra for.

Being able to pour milk on its own is a good feature. It would allow you to use Ristretto (a button the Plus doesn't have) or Lungo with milk, and you wouldn't have to mess around re-programming the buttons. The Plus can only pour Espresso shots if you want milk with it.

        • @lostn: The problem with the milk system is internal. Nespresso offered to repair the unit for $130 or give me a discount on a new machine. They offered me a Creatista Plus for $465 which is a good price. Apparently the milk system is much better. I ended up buying a Creatista Plus from Myer which was a bit more expensive but I could pay with reward points. It arrives tomorrow.

  • So it's $230 all up?

    • $329 if you take the cashback offer

    • If it was $230 I'd snap one up pronto.

The cash back is $70, not $170.

  • Got the code yesterday and ordered one today, needed to upgrade and this seemed good for the price
